_letter three_
Dear Charity!
Happy Birthday!
I hope you'll enjoy your day. I wish i could pull you in my arms right now.
Fiveteen! Wow! I can't believe it. Still one year under my age;)
It's a creazy feeling, knowing that you're just something about ten kilometres away, but i can't see you.
I'd love to.
Now...i've got a new job.
I'm working at the rails now. It's hard but one get good paid.
I miss you.
Promise, that you'll eat a piece of cake for me.
And write about how surprising was my birthday present for you;)
With all my Love,
Phin
Phineas smiled and took the cole pencil back to its place.
He closed the letter and sank on his knees to search for the little box, he'd bought.
It had Charitys birthday present in its inside.
He found it under his blanket.
Hurrying, he tied the box up and stood up.
"Where're you going, Phin?", Oscar, one of the little children at this camp.
"I've to go to work.", Phin said and opened the rosted gate, "Bye."
Oscar waved, "Until this evening!"
Phineas had a good place at the camp.
A place with two blankets and pillows, near to the fireplace.
He'd earned it with his spend to the camp.
On his way to the rails, Phineas threw his letter into the postmans bag.
It was a nice postman.
"Send her my best wishes for her birthday.", Phin whispered and the postman nodded.
The rails were rusty and full of soot.
Half of his time at work he spended with cleaning and piling them for the transportation.
The other half he helped moving the rails.
Just as he made a break, drinking some water and eat a small piece of bread, one of the leaders stepped next to him.
"Mr. Barnum? I'd like to talk to you."
Phineas stood up and shook the leaders hand, "Of course. What's it?"
The leader smiled lightly, "You are promoted! Leader of the district 'Manhattan'. Congratulations!"
Phin let out little shout of Happiness.
The leader nodded, "Yes you should be happy. Your current income will be raised to $11 an hour."

Charity sighed happily as the postman appeared at the front door with a little packet for her.
"With the best wishes to your birthday, Miss.", Mr. Paulsen said and smiled at her.
"Thank you, Sir."
She closed the door and fled out of the entrance and in her room, where she opened the letter and began ro read.
Her eyebrows contracted more with every sentence, she read.
I wish i could pull you in my arms right now.
"Oh Phin!", she mumbled, "I do to. Promise!"
She put the letter into her box with all their letters and began to pack out theittle packet.
The box under the paper was violet. Her favourite colour.
Charity sighed and opened the blue ribbon and-
she stopped breathing.
"Oh god!", she whispered, "Oh god, Phineas!"
Nestled on dark red crepe papers layid a necklace. A necklace with a tiny, filigree note with clef as a pendant.
Carefully Charity took the necklace up and pulled her hair out of her neck, to close the chain.
The pendant layid on her chest, fited perfectly between the Approaches of her breasts.
Charity was about to close the little box again, as one of the crepe papers slipped and released the view of a beautiful brooch.
Silver with small blue and white gems.
Charity drew a sharp breath, "Oh my god!"
It was a hair comb.
Slowly and with pointed fingers, she stuck it in her hair.
Then she rushed to the desk and began to write.
Dear Phin.
I can't believe it!
I've never became a more beautiful birthday present, than this.
It's wonderful...both!
The necklace and the brooch.
This is the best birthday i've ever had.
Of course it would've be much better, if we could've meet, but...it's okay like this too.
Well...it may is ride to ask, but;
Didn't you were shortly before the completely bankruptcy? And now this...
Thank you, Phineas.
Oh...i was just about to forget it;
Yes, i ate a piece of cake for you. Very tasty.
And yes, my day was great.
You made it great. You and your present.
Sending you all my Love and all my kisses,
Charity

Alma sighed unbelievable, "Oh! My! God!"
She looked at the brooch in Charitys hair, "He's not just a friend!"
Charity smiled happily, "Beautiful isn't it? He sended a necklace too."
Almas eyes widened, "Charity! It's too late for you both. You've fell in love with each other years ago."
Charity raised an eyebrow, "Don't gossip! I'm nit in love with him."
Her friend sank on her bed, "You can't lie to me. I can see it in your eyes. You love him."
"No i don't!", Charity pressed out and touched the pendant of her necklace patiently.
Alma moaned annoyed, "Lies, lies and more lies. Go and write your stupid letter!"
She sat down in front of her disk and opened her filler, just to close it again.
"Alma?", she asked carefully, "Do you really think, we're in love?!"
"Yes i do!", Alma said, "And now; Write!"
And so Charity did.
Dear Phin.
I've got my grade today.
'A school report with extraordinary grades.'
Father's applauding. Of course he is. Nothing else cares to him.
Well...i'm coming home for a few days. Are we gonna meet? I really hope so.
I miss you.
And i'm afraid of what could happen, if i'd never see you again.
I don't wanna forget the sound of your voice, the way you laugh...how you look like.
I'm sure you changed a bit. So i did.
Well...
in love,
Charity

"Goodbye guys.", Phineas said with a sad smile, "I'm gonna miss you."
He closed the rusty gate and made his way through the streets of New York.
This morning he'd buy a little old appartement in a basement of a big house.
Maybe not the Buckingham palace, but much better than the street.
He opened the door and put the carton with the few things he owned, next to the door.
Then he took a piece of paper and a pen and began to write.
Dear Charity,
Congratulations!
I'm happy to hear that you're coming home for a few days.
Just a few days, but that's enough.
I want you to know, that i've moved. I'm living in an appartement in Manhattan now, near the market.
It was a little bit sad to leave Oscar and Prudence and all the others, but now i've got a fireplace of my own.
Maybe we're going to sit in front of that fireplace and tell us stories...i hope so.
Or we're going to make a tour with the train. The rails are all moved.
I just want you to know, that you are always gonna be a part of me and my life. And i hope it'll be a big one.
In love,
Phin

"Father, please!", Charity begged and tried to suppress the tears, starting to fall down her cheeks, "Just one day."
But Mr. Hallet shook his head, "Never! Never with that Tailor-boy! You're fiveteen!"
Charity sorted, "Yes! Fiveteen! Can't i please just make my own experiences?! I'm not ten anymore! I'm gonna meet Phin today!"
Mr. Hallet layid down his cutlery, "Absolutley not. You're going to stay here. And now; leave this room! I don't wanna see you again this day. And don't dare to leave your room!"
Charity sorted angry, "It's like i'm living in a cage."
She closed the door and ran back in her room.
A sob fled her throat, as she turned the key in the lock and locked her bedroom door.
Then she fell on her bed and began to cry.
"Why is he so rude?!", she shouted between sobs, "Why can't he let me live my life?!"
Tears rolled down her cheeks and dripped to the pillows.
She pressed her face on her blanket.
Nothing could've calm her.
Dear Phin,
well...i really hoped we could meet, but you know my father.
He said no.
I want to see you. I want to discover other old houses and climb on the highest trees of the entire world!
I wanna risk everything with you and i would risk everything to see you right now.
Isn't this crazy?
My door is locked and so is the chance of my own, wished life.
The window is open, but it's too high.
Godness gracious me!
You can't believe, how much i miss you!
Mother said, i'm gonna meet a 'nice young gentleman' tomorrow.
I wonder, what they think it's gonna change;
Do they think, i could fall in love with him?!
Never!
Sometimes it seems as if my parents don't even care about my wishes. They just care about my grades and place in the society.
I hope i'll see you soon.
In love,
Charity
