Chapter One: Attack From The Unknown

-5 Hours Earlier-

John had watched helplessly as he saw his friend standing on the edge of the building while talking to him over the phone. He was scared, he did not know what to do. He had tried to talk to him, trying to see if he can get through to him.

Trying to prevent of what he might do.

But nothing seemed to work.

He had heard him say over the phone choking between his words, "John, when you see her, tell her I to think of a fruit while I'm away. And tell Shadow, not get mad at me for what I'm about to do and that no matter what happens to him and her, I will always love them..."

"Sherlock don't!"

"Goodbye John…"

He had then heard him hang up on him, and he saw from where he was standing, that he had tossed his phone aside. He spread his arms out, and than he did the what John hoped he wouldn't do.

He let himself fall.

"SHERLOCK!!"

Shadow had screamed as he quickly sat himself upright, finding himself within the bunker of the Skid. He felt sweat coming down his face; he made himself take deep breaths after what he had witnessed.

"It... It was just a dream..."

Three months had already passed since he heard the death of someone he loved like a father, and two weeks had gone by, since he and his team had learned that the great detective was still alive. When he was told by Sakura that she had seen him in the graveyard when she was with John, he thought she had seen Sherlock's ghost out of depression.

However two days after he had suddenly received a text that had said, "Come and find me." From the initials "S.H" and saw him walk away from the flat of 221B. However his friends and even his best friend Andrew didn't seem to believe him.

It wasn't until they had found out the body within the coffin was a manikin, made to look like Sherlock, which had proved that he was still alive and he had somehow faked his own death.

While trying to find him and why he did what he did, they were soon interrupted by the military who had discovered that he and his friends were hiding out in London and attempted to re-capture them.

Shadow had tried to get John to go with them, however he had soon found out that his original flat was a wreck and that he was missing as well. Which had made him even more worried and determined.

They made their escape and recovered the Skid. However during their escape, Jeremy, and Alice had gotten captured by Baskerville officers.

Korra was currently missing in action. So they had no idea if she was captured or not.

Now they are high in the skies currently traveling to Jasper, Nevada where they had heard from Jeremy that might be where Sherlock and John are, or least find a clue to where they really might be.

Shadow got up the cockpit to find Aelita piloting, Sakura and Kirby playing the board game "SORRY", while everyone else was playing SORRY.

"I WIN!" Odd had suddenly cried out. Yumi, William, Ulrich, and Envy let out a groan. "AGAIN! ODD?!" Envy yelled out.

"DAMN IT! I THOUGHT I HAD YOU THIS TIME!" William yelled

"WHAT THE HELL MAN!?" Andrew yelled

"THIS IS THE FIFTIETH TIME IN A ROW YOU'VE BEATEN US!" Ulrich cried out.

"I swear, this is the last time I played 'SORRY' with you Odd, you cheating purple cat!" Yumi said while throwing her cards down. Odd waved his hand while saying, "Oh, come on you guys, you're just being sore-losers cause I'm the best at this game! Wanna play again?"

Everyone shouted, "HELL NO!"

Sakura quickly got between them with Kirby on her head and said, "Guy's please don't argue, why not try to play something else?"

"How about 'SORRY'?" Odd had said.

Again, everyone had shouted, "WE ALREADY SAID NO!"

They soon noticed Shadow, who was already giving them a "Really?" look to them. "Oh, Shadow, you're up." Envy said, while putting his cards away. "Guys seriously it's just a game, just be glad that you're not gambling with him." Shadow said while getting a soda and a breakfast bar from the mini-fridge.

Odd thought about it in his head. "Although…"

Yumi punched Odd at the side of his face while saying, "Don't even think about it!" Sakura noticed that Shadow wasn't himself. "Shadow? Are you okay?" Sakura asked, "Pyo?" Kirby said, asking the same question in his language.

Shadow had tried his best to hide it from her, "What do you mean?"

Sakura pointed it out, "Well, your face is all sweaty."

Shadow wiped the sweat off his face and said, "Oh, yeah just another nightmare." Sakura had asked him, "The one about Sherlock?" Shadow froze when Sakura had asked that question. There was a moment of silence before he had answered, "Yes."

Andrew joined the conversation, "Your own head just loves to mess with you doesn't it?"

Shadow turned to his best friend, "Apparently. Ever since we found out that Sherlock's still alive, my own head keeps on messing with me. Trying to get me to believe that his dead."

"Really?" Andrew asked.

"Really." Shadow replied.

Aelita had reassured her friend, "Don't worry Shadow, we'll find him no matter what it takes."

He turned to Aelita who gave him a reassuring smile. He smiled back and nodded his head to her, "Yeah, you're right."

He had pulled himself out of the subject. "Are you sure that the information Jeremy provided is accurate?" Shadow had asked as he finished his soda and breakfast bar.

Aelita typed something on the keyboard, and a map had popped up. "I'm certain that it is. He is never wrong."

Andrew had asked a bit worried to Aelita "How can you be sure?"

Envy patted Andrew on the back, "Like the girl said, Einstein is never wrong, trust us. We'll either find them or at least find a clue to where they might be heading."

Ulrich walked over to Aelita, "Which reminds me, when are going to land, I'm getting tired of playing card games here."

The cat had overheard Ulrich and yelled, "Hey! What are you trying to say?!"

William had yelled with his fist in the air, "You know why Odd!"

Aelita laughed and soon answered, "When we are able to find a safe location then we'll be able to-"

Suddenly there was a muffled explosion from the outside, which had cause the Skid to shake; everyone had screamed as the alarms went off. "What the hell was that?!" Shadow had shouted over the alarms. Aelita had tried her best to keep the Skid steady within the air. "I-I DON'T KNOW WHERE THE SHOT CAME FROM!" Aelita shouted over the alarm.

Andrew shouted towards her, "WAS IT THE MILITARY!?" Aelita had immediately replied, "WHAT PART OF 'I DON'T KNOW WHERE THE SHOTS CAME FROM' DID YOU NOT GET!?"

The shots came again; it had left the ship rocking like a boat within a hurricane. The whole team (Including Sakura who sat at the co-pilot's seat) immediately went to their stations, and got the weapons ready. Kirby had looked at the radar screen but couldn't make out where the shots were coming from. "Pyo! Pyo!" Kirby said while shaking his head.

Aelita took noticed and had yelled out over to the gang, "KIRBY CAN'T FIND THE ATTACKER!"

Andrew had concluded, "IT MUST BE THE MILITARY THAN! I MEAN, WHO THE HELL ELSE IS IT GOING TO BE?!"

Shadow got up from his seat and went to where Kirby was; he checked the radar screen, however the screen was on the fritz. He slammed his fist on the keyboard, "DAMN IT! I CAN'T GET A FIX ON THIS EXCUSE FOR A RADAR!"

The screens were all the same at everyone else's station. Yumi shouted, "THEY MUST BE USING SOME SORT OF JAMMING SIGNAL!"

Envy shouted to Yumi, "GEE! YA THINK!?"

Another shot was fired near the ship, and it almost went out of control, but Aelita immediately regained control.

William gritted his death, "Damn! That was too close! Are they trying to kill us!?"

Andrew shouted, "That's what they're doing!"

Ulrich tried his best to get the weapons online, "It looks like we made them pretty mad back in London!"

Shadow had tried to fix the radar screen, "You'd think they'd give us a break! But then again the government never does give us a break!"

Aelita had tried to keep the ship in control as the shooting from below continued, "Ulrich! The weapons, did you get them online?!"

Ulrich turned to her from his seat, "No! Something is messing up the weapons system too!"

All of sudden the ship had rocked even harder than before causing everyone to fall out of their seat, and the alarms had gotten even louder which made their ears bleed.

Sakura got up from her feet, "Is everyone okay!?"

The others soon got up on their feet, "We're all okay kiddo!" Envy shouted. Soon the ship was starting to go downward, everyone had grabbed whatever they could find.

Yumi had shouted, "Now what!?"

Aelita had managed to get back to the pilots seat, "Our engine's been compromise! We're going to crash!"

Odd yelled, "You mean crash burn and die!?"

Andrew yelled back, "That's exactly what she means!"

Shadow yelled as he managed to get a hold of Sakura, "Brace yourselves!"

The ship soon crashed near the hills.

Shadow and Sakura had stood within the flat where they were with Lestrade, Mrs. Hudson, John and Alice. He had wondered why they all had sadness in their faces, especially John, whom he had saw on his face, their were dried tears.

Sakura asked, "What's wrong? Why does everyone look sad? Did something happen?"

No one had answered the little girl.

Shadow looked around within the flat seeing it was only the four.

"Hey, wait a minute, where's Sherlock? Didn't he come back with John? Is he still busy?"

Alice looked at John; the doctor had nodded his head to her. She turned to Shadow and Sakura.

"I'm sorry but… Sherlock Holmes is dead…."

The hedgehog's eyes opened with pain coursing through his body. After his vision became clear he saw the ship a wreck surrounded by small flames. He turned to his side seeing Sakura under his arm and regaining conscious as well.

Shadow got on his knees and helped Sakura sit up, "Sakura, are you alright?"

Sakura rubbed her eyes and her head, "Ye-yeah I think so. How about you?"

"Don't worry about me, I'll be alright."

"Wait, what about the others?"

Shadow turned to see the others pretty much scattered, not far from each other. He had only seen Kirby trying to wake everyone up.

"Crap, this looks bad. Sakura stay here."

"Okay."

Shadow got up off the floor and went towards Andrew first. He started to shake him gently.

"Andrew! Andrew, come on wake up!"

Andrew soon let out a pained moan as he sat himself up. Andrew groaned as he rubbed his eyes, "Gah my bones, all of them hurt..." Shadow had said, "Well at least your not dead."

"Of course I'm not. I may be human but I don't die that easy."

"Right..."

Pretty soon the others regained conscious as well. They heard Aelita give out a shriek, "AH! MY SHIP! IT'S RUINED!"

Odd took a look at the ship and all he could say was "DAMN! Now that's what I call a wreck."

Yumi than said, "How are we supposed to get the coordinates now!?"

Envy added, "It's official! We're doomed!"

William yelled, "We can't get back home without the Skid!"

Soon enough everyone in the group began to panic. It wasn't long until, Shadow had yelled out, "You guys! Calm down!" Their was dead silence among the group. Shadow gave out a deep sigh and said, "Look… We don't even know if the ship isn't repairable or not. But our attackers might come looking for us, for now we should take what we need to survive, and find some cover for now until the attackers pass."

The group looked at each other and said, "Right!" Sakura let out a smile, "That's our Shadow! You're so smart!"

The group got what had survived in the ship, and they managed to get it into bags. Shadow told them, "Once the attackers pass, we'll come back and try to fix the ship."

The group nodded their heads in agreement.

"Than let's get moving!" Shadow said. With that the group moved out deep into the forest.

The moment they left, something or someone had arrived. They had made booming sounds with their feet as they approached the ship known as the Skid. Among them was a machine that had stepped forward. The machine had told the creatures, "Follow them, but do not kill them."

Shadow couldn't believe what he had heard from Alice. The minute he started to deny it, Alice made it clear to that Sherlock had died and that John had witnessed him jump, he had immediately ran out of the flat and as far from Baker Street as possible.

That was the only thing he could do, run away from the truth. He soon came to a stop under a bridge, where no one would find him. He soon fell to his knees and then began to cry, not caring who heard him.

He slammed his fist on the wall. He kept slamming it until blood seeped through his glove. All while he was doing this, he just kept thinking.

"Why!? Why!? Why!? Why must those I love, die!? Why do they have to die!? Why did HE have to die!?"

He stopped slamming his fist letting the blood drip into forming a small puddle.

"Why… Couldn't they see that Sherlock was framed? Couldn't they see that Moriarty was the one who framed him?"

Shadow eyes soon changed from sadness to anger. His tears stopped falling.

"No… It's all THEIR fault… THEY'RE the ones that made him jump. THEY broke my family. THEY should suffer... THEY all should suffer…"

Pretty soon clouds had covered all of London and the rain had begun to fall.

"GAH! I'm exhausted!"

Envy fell to the ground with a thud against a nearby tree. "Oh come on!" Yumi said, "You're tired already! We've been walking for only 30 minutes!"

Envy told Yumi, "Hey! I made it very clear before, I hate walking! Can't we just use our vehicles or something?"

Shadow turned to Envy, "No, it's too risky. There may be a chance that someone might spot us and attempt to capture us."

Ulrich asked, "In the middle of the forest?" "Hey, anything could happen you know?" Shadow said turning to Ulrich. "Yeah like what?" Odd asked.

All of sudden they heard an explosion near where they were which caused them all to jump and Odd too shriek like a little girl. Soon there was a huge gush of wind.

"Everyone hang on to something!" Shadow cried out. Odd dug his nails into the ground, Aelita, Yumi, Sakura and Andrew grabbed a nearby boulder, while Ulrich, Envy (Who made his hand into a blade), William, Kirby and Shadow put their swords in the ground and held on for dear life.

Shortly after the wind blew over it had just stopped. The group got back up on their feet. "What the hell was that!?" Andrew said moving away from the boulder. Shadow turned to him, "How the hell should I know!?" Aelita looked over the trees that have almost fallen after the huge gush of wind swept over them, "It was definitely an explosion! And it came from over there!" Aelita pointed in the direction where they heard it.

Sakura then asked, "Do… Do you think it was some kind of fight?"

Yumi turned to Sakura, "Could be but all the way out here?"

"Pyo! Pyo!" Kirby said pointing towards the direction of the explosion.

"Wait a minute, you don't think it's one of our kind do you?" Shadow asked turning to Kirby.

Kirby nodded in an answer to his question.

"All the way out here though? That's kind of strange." William said while rubbing underneath his chin. "Yeah but still they might be in trouble." Shadow said. "We have to go and take a look!" Sakura said.

Envy said, "You're right kiddo! Let's go!"

"Yeah!" The group yelled out.

"We're all in agreement than." Shadow said to the group, "Let's get moving than!"

With that the whole group started to move towards the location of the explosion.

-Sakura's P.O.V-

It happened again, just like before.

Our family is broken, just like on that day.

The day the funeral was held for Sherlock, Shadow couldn't bring himself to go. He told me and John that he wasn't feeling well so he didn't come. But, I think I know why he couldn't come.

This happened before when my mom and dad died. He had mixed feelings about what had happened to them. He had sadness in his heart, but his eyes were filled with anger so he couldn't go.

I can understand why he would be upset, but anger I don't think I can understand.

On our way to the cemetery, I heard from John that he was going back to his original flat, before he met Sherlock, and that Mrs. Hudson would be taking care of us until he came back. So today, would be the last day that John would be with us today.

Mommy… Daddy… Sherlock is up there with you isn't he? Please treat him kindly as I did, and please take care of him.

I placed a bouquet of flowers atop on Sherlock's coffin and I prayed to the person that watched over us to take care of Sherlock like he did with me and Shadow. I watched the people burry his coffin, and I couldn't help but cry as I watched them did what they did.

I know this is going to sound kind of strange, but I felt a familiar presence from someone out there in the distance, I looked back and I could've that I saw...

"Sherlock?"

"ENVY! COME ON YOUR TOO SLOW!" Andrew yelled as they had gotten closer.

"It's not my damn fault ya know..." Envy catching his breath, "Like I said... I... Hate... Walking..."

By the time they had gotten to where they heard the explosion the sun had already begun to set, letting the sky changed into a bitter-sweet sky. They saw where the source of the explosion came from, and they were shocked to see a giant crater.

"Man is this thing huge!" Odd said.

"Do you think someone is in there?" Aelita asked turning to Shadow.

"There's gotta be." Shadow said, "We need to find a way to get inside the guy-"

"Shadow! I think I found an entrance!" They heard Sakura yell.

The whole team sat there dumbfounded. "Timing. Go figure." William said.

They all went over to the entrance within the crater which what had appeared to be a cave. "Well this has gotta lead us to where the explosion was." Shadow said, "Now I don't know exactly what we're looking for, but I think we'll know when we see it so keep your eyes peeled."

"Roger!" The entire team said.

With that, they went inside the cave. They were not sure how long they walked but it seemed like hours since they had entered. When they got to the end they saw metal lines, like a web connecting to each other all over the walls and ceilings. "Jesus!" Yumi said, "What is all of this stuff?" Aelita took out a small computer and scanned the material.

"It's definitely type of metal." Aelita said, "But the scanner can't make out what it is."

"Maybe this is what caused the explosion?" Andrew asked, "No I don't think so." Aelita said, "There seems to be a mix of chemicals within the metal. Materials I don't think I have ever seen before."

"You think the chemicals in the metal is what caused the explosion?" Shadow asked.

"I can't be sure until I-"

"Do not think for a moment Starscream, that it has gone unnoticed that you left me at the mercy of the Autobots!"

They froze when they heard the voices echo through the walls.

"Hide! Quick!" Shadow said. They immediately went behind some of the material and laid back against the metal. "What the hell man!?" Odd said, "Last I check, there wasn't anyone in the cave so far." "Who do you think they are?" Andrew asked, "Military?"

"They sure sound like it." Shadow said, "But I can't tell who they are from here."

"Maybe they were the ones that caused the explosion." Yumi said.

"Hey we don't know that for sure." The hedgehog replied.

Than they heard one of them say, "Now tell me Shockwave, why does this cyber matter ressemble chaos?"

"Huh? Ressemble chaos? Shockwave?" Shadow thought to himself, they're conversation continued.

"The basic elements are apparently unstable. But I will turn to my attention to correcting that."

The team looked at each other. "Basic elements?" the team said to each other. "Well Aelita, your right about one thing." Shadow said to her.

"And what's that?" She asked

"They're definitely chemicals within the metal material." he replied

"Never the less, should we use this cyber matter to restore Cybertron, or cyberform Earth, we would require a launch mechanism would we not?"

"Cybertron?" Sakura asked, "What's that?"

"And what do they mean by cyberform Earth?" Envy added

They didn't hear anything for awhile until they heard one of them say with a menacing voice, "Then we will focus our remaining resources, upon the successful reconstruction of the omega-lock."

"Omega-Lock?" Shadow thought in his head, "What in the hell is an Omega-Lock? It could be some sort of code but-" Suddenly he felt a feeling in his head, coming from the direction where the voices came from; The feeling caused his chest to ache.

"Shadow? What's wrong?" Sakura asked.

"Guys… I think we should go…" Shadow said to them.

"Why? We still need to-"

Before Odd could finish, he slipped on a rock and fell right on his face.

"OW!" He cried out, "MY POOR NOSE!"

"SHUT UP ODD!" Shadow cried out, "YOU'LL BLOW OUR COVER! ACK! I MEAN! Squeak, squeak, squeak!"

"HOW THE HELL IS THAT GOING TO HELP!?" Yumi whispered. "YOU GOTTA BETTER IDEA!?" Shadow whispered back before getting back to sounding like a mouse. They heard what appeared to be giant footsteps coming towards them.

"Pyo?" Kirby said.

"Um…" Ulrich said, "Something tells me that, whatever is coming towards us is definitely not human."

"If it's not human…" William said, "Than what is it?"

Suddenly a dark shadow had loomed over the team which caused the hedgehog to cease to his squeaks.

They slowly looked up to see what appeared to be a walking jet just staring down at them.

Shadow than said, "It's over isn't it?"

-End Of Chapter One: Attack of the Unknown-
