Chapter 2:
Kim threw her shopping bags on her double king sized elegant bed and paced around the room. Just for those precious couple of hours, she got to experience what it was like to be a – in her eyes - normal teenager. She paced around the room trying to think through what had happened.
Was that boy Jack real? Did she really go unnoticed for being Princess Kim for 2 whole hours? Of course she did, those shopping bags proved it. But she still couldn't believe that Jack was real. He was so sweet, nice, friendly like…
A knock on the door startled Kim out of her train of thought; she walk over to the door, opened it and there stood Frank the butler holding out a silver platter.
"Hello Frank." Kim says hearing the British accent in her voice for the first time in the past couple of hours. Frank silently nods to Kim, acknowledging her presence. He lifted the lid off the platter and gestureed Kim to read the letter on the platter. Kim instantly tore open the letter.
Dear Darling,
I hope you had a great time shopping. Your father and I have gone to India to watch the cricket (that boring sport your father loves). We won't be back until Wednesday the 15th have a good time and do not get into any mischief.
Sincerely,
Mother
Kim smiled at Frank and handed over the letter, something she didn't need. As she went up to her clothing room to put her new clothes away, she realised today was the 2nd, and that there were going to be 13 days without parents snooping around life.
Tingles went through her skin as she knew what she was going to do.
Jackson, the family chauffeur, was ready to comply when Kim said that she wanted to go to Seaview Street, somewhere she knew that various normal people shops were. Kim knew however, that he would find it strange when she requested to be driven in a normal person car.
"Why would you want that Princess Kimberly?" He asked as he picked up the phone to call a rent-a-car company.
"Oh you know, just so we don't attract and find it impossible to get out. Think about it Jackson, if people saw a limo, they would rush to it. You would find it impossible to get out and what if while you are trying to reverse, you hit some poor innocent child." Kimberly rambled. The real reason was if Jack saw her in a limo, he would become distant, knowing she must be rich at least and Kim was eager to maintain her normal person façade.
"Excellent point miss." Jackson said pressing his ear to the phone. 40 minutes later the rental car was parked at Seaview Street and Kim felt more nervous than last year's dinner party when she stepped out of the car.
"Please stay here Jackson, I hope not too be long but not too be short." Kim said as she straightened up and walked through the street. Walking through the street was an excitement for Kim, seeing little kids running around with their mothers closely behind and food dripping down children's cheeks. When a young girl accidently tripped and spilt her soda onto Kim, Kim burst into giggles and kissed the young girl's cheek.
"Thank you young child, you don't know how grateful I am." Kim said in her American accent walking away leaving the child and her mother in a confused state. Seaview was a long street full of shops and had everything needed and Kim was certain that Jack and his family's karate business would be here. But the closer Kim got to the end of the street, the more she got nervous. She had seen video gaming stores, clothing stores, food stalls but no karate class. She had all but given up hope when she stared face-to-face with a blank store at the end of the road with only two people inside and a room full of boxes. Kim stared and stared until someone she hadn't seen before came out of the store.
"Hey it's you again!" Kim's face heated up as she stared into the eyes of the boy who just talked to her.
"Yeah I was just wondering by," Kim said her hand waving all around the place, "and the blank store caught my eye." Kim said her voice wavering. She instantly cursed nerves.
"We just finished putting in the boxes. Hopefully the place should be up and running soon." Jack said Kim noting that hi face didn't resemble the colour of cherries.
"I'll be sure to check it out." Kim said knowing she would do just that as she turned to walk away. Jack blocked her path and took her hands.
"If you don't want to go, you can help me start unpacking the stuff." Jack said. Kim started to drift away into thoughts of her spending alone time with Jack. Talking, getting to know each other, and dare she think it might share a kiss.
"As much as I would love that, I better not keep Jackson waiting." Kim replied.
"Who's Jackson, your boyfriend?" Jack asked.
"NO" Kim said a little too loudly and way too quickly, how was she going to get out of this one "he's a family friend, he drove me here as he thought it would be too long of a walk." Kim mentally applauded herself for her save.
"Well you better not keep him waiting." Jack said letting go of her hand and starting to walk away.
"Wait! Where do you go to school?" Kim asked.
"Seaview High, why?" Jack asked her his eyebrow raised. Gosh he was cute.
"I just wanted to know, see if I could let my friends know about you and make it easier for you there." Kim said mentally cursing herself in case he asked for names. Her closest friend was Frank the butler!
"No that's ok. I've got it under control." Jack said as Kim suddenly felt calm noticing he wasn't offended at all.
"Ok. Bye Jack." Kim said walking away.
"Bye Kim." Jack said, the sound of a door shutting followed soon after. Kim smiled as Jack had remembered her name.
As she got back into the rental car, Kim was already going through the plan in her head. It was an interesting plan, one which had probably never been heard of, but Kim would make sure that it worked.
I hope it was all up to your standard. I hope to post another chapter tomorrow.
Keep reading. Keep reviewing!
Cheers!
