L stared at his computer screen, watching the data flash by with a lackluster expression on his face.
I know that Light is Kira...
But how to prove it?
"Oi, Watari," L said quietly, looking back at his public representative, "I'm not accepting any visits or calls from the IPO today..let them know."
Watari gave a short nod and left the room silently.
"7 percent, Yagami.." L whispered, returning his gaze to the screen, and analyzing the names and dates of the Kira murders.
Without removing his eyes from the screen, he grabbed an unfinished cherry popsicle on the desk and set it gently in his mouth.
His dark-ringed eyes moved back and forth, scanning the endless stream of data.
It was pointless, there was no pattern, no significance, only murders of criminals via heart attack.
L sighed, pulling the popsicle out of his mouth, and shutting the computer monitor off.
A minute ticking noise reached his ears, coming from somewhere behind him.
He paused, his finger still on the power button-
A very quiet thump echoed out from the living room area of the hotel suite.
L set the popsicle back down on the desk, disregarding the large red stain it left behind.
He uncurled his legs from his chest and set his feet on the tacky greenish carpet.
With cat-like silence, L crept to the living room, peering around the corner with his large blue-black eyes.
He curled his legs back up to his chest, perching by the side of the couch, which was, of course, equally as tacky as the carpet.
Was it Kira? No, don't be stupid, Kira wouldn't be this foolish...
Another thump, louder this time, came from behind the plasma-screen television in the corner.
L rested his hands on the carpet and scurried across the room, coming to a halt in front of the TV.
