Heartbeat
The sound of his beating heart was the sweetest lullaby she'd ever heard. Lying with her head on his chest, she thought this couldn't get any better, she couldn't be any happier.
Hermione Granger had never thought that they would end up here, that after everything that happened they could be safe, again. They weren't alright yet, but they were healing, and she knew that as long as he was with her, as long as she could bend down and hear the melody of his heartbeats, she knew she would be okay.
She snuggled a little closer to him, her eyes closed, and the rhythmic movement of his chest as he breathed was reassuring, somehow.
She opened her eyes, expecting to be greeted with stars shining like freshly polished diamonds, but instead she found the night slightly less bright, the stars slowly disappearing. It took her a moment to realize that it was the fault of clouds.
There was no fault within the stars.
The silence echoed in her ears, and it was becoming slowly unbearable. She'd stopped liking silence since those days in the tent, when Ron was gone, and all he'd left behind in his place, for her and Harry was the quiet.
And right now, there was a particular sound she wanted to hear, Harry's laughter.
She moved her hands up his arm with a feathery touch, the fact that he didn't say anything told her he didn't have any idea, what was about to happen. She kept on moving her hand upwards until she reached his shoulder blade, from where her hands moved to his neck, and it was then that her plan kicked into action.
She started to tickle his neck, his most sensitive spot, and he yelped. Soon, he was begging her to stop, as the sound laughter echoed into the night.
But suddenly the laughter stopped as he flipped her over and held her arms hostage above her head. She lay on her back and he above her.
He tried to look intimidating, but she guessed he was only scary to those who hadn't seen him nervous before he tried to talk to girls.
"You are going to pay for this," He said, and Hermione willed herself to look bored when all she wanted to do was smile at his attempts to scare her.
"Yeah, what are you going to do?" She asked, knowing Harry could never, ever hurt her.
"This," he said, and then he leaned down to kiss her.
He kissed her softly, and released her hands, which she wrapped around his neck to bring him closer. And as a rain drop fell on her face, she smiled, because she didn't know how this moment could get any better.
