Chapter One- Enough is Enough
There didn't need to be any arguments today. Well, that's what Chloe thought. She couldn't bare another argument. Rehearsals had been going well all week, everyone knew the choreography, outfits had been fitted, the vocal arrangements were all sorte-
"Beca, get your head out of your ass, it's not a fucking hat!". Or not. "Maybe if you weren't such a stuck up BITCH, then you'd be able to see that you're WRONG, AGAIN!"
Chloe stepped into the dressing room that was dedicated to the Bella's. Their performance had finished over three hours ago. The rest the Bella's had gone back to the hotel. It was nearing 2 am, and two of the "co-captains" were missing, so worrying Chloe walked down the streets of Paris, back to the performance area to find her soulfriend and soulmate. They apparently hadn't noticed her presence. "I see you the way you look at him! As if Chloe deserve someone like you!"
'It's always like this' Chloe thought to herself. Somehow, her name always got sprung into every argument. Every. Single. Time. It was like they were jealous of each other's relationship with her.
"Excuse you? What the hell is that meant to mean?! And I don't do you seriously? You treat her like shit! She doesn't deserve you!" Beca screamed back.
"Guys? What is this abo-"
"Don't play dumb! You know who! Theo!" She tried her best to interrupt, but once again, this has turned into a screaming match. "I see the way you and him eyeball each other! It's so obvious you've got a thing for him! The only person who hasn't seen it is Chloe! You know, your GIRLFRIEND!"
She couldn't take this anymore. "Guys, please stop!"
"Are you kidding me?! There's nothing going on between me and this turtle!"
"Oh the turtle? So you have nicknames for each other now, huh?!"
"Oh fuck off Posen! You're just jealous because Chloe prefers me to you, and you wanna know why?"
Chloe had never seen them so angry before. Not even when Fat Amy had almost got the Bella's banned from ever competing again after the O'Bama incident. Still, neither had even realised that Chloe was in the same room as them.
"It's because you use her! You walk all over her like a rug on the floor! And the worst thing is she lets you because she thinks you are best friends! She's not standing up for herself, but I will!"
Beca and Aubrey were mere inches from each other now. No one was backing down.
"Bullshit! The sooner Chloe realises that you're no good for her the better! It's like you've brainwashed into thinking-"
"STOP IT! BOTH OF YOU!" Two shocked faces turned so quickly towards the door, where the red head was leaning against, tears pouring from her eyes, full of sadness and heartbreak.
"Please, just...just stop this!" '1,2,3' Chloe counted, trying to calm herself down. 'Deep breathes'. "Why can't you two just get along? Or even try to?"
Aubrey and Beca pauses their stand off, with Beca walking over to her dressing table and taking a seat. She was exhausted. Aubrey cut in straight away. "Chlo, I've tried to oka-"
"Ha! You've tried have you Posen?" Beca laughed, turning around in shock, not quite believing the words coming out of the blondes mouth.
Ding ding cue round 2.
"Oh fuck off Beca, you know I have!" Aubrey exclaimed, spinning around so quickly, Beca was surprised she didn't get whip lash (she was still hopeful though).
"No way! You didn't try at all, I did! You might have noticed it if you actually listened to someone other than yourself!!!" Once again, Beca marched over to her co-captain, and the shouting match had recommended. And just like that, Chloe's voice of peace had been swallowed up by screams of hatred. Just like that, Chloe's presence had been forgotten. And just like that, Chloe's heart broke as she slipped out the door and took a wander down the streets of Paris, completely unnoticed. She needed to get away for a few moments.
XXXXXXXXXX
Paris was chilly at night. That's why Chloe redirected route from her hotel room to the dodgy looking bar down the street. She was upset, cold, empty, and needed a drink, so as long as she got some alcohol in her system, she didn't care where it came from. She felt cold on the outside, and dead on the inside. 'Haven't felt like this in a while' she thought.
She entered the run down, but packed, pub, Chloe was hit by the stench of smoke. She didn't let that put her off, as she made her way over to the bar. 'Perks of being small' she thought as she squeezed her way through the crowds of people to get herself a drink.
"I'll take a vodka, and a gin and lemonade please" Chloe ordered, knowing full well that she'd regret her choices in the morning, but right now she really couldn't give a shit.
"I'll get those- Yo Marco, put that on my tab!" Chloe looked over to her right to match the face to the voice she recognised. Chicago.
"What's up with you Chloe? Rough night?" He asked, pushing her drinks towards her.
"Something like that", cringing as the strong liquid burned that back of her throat. "Another one please Marco".
