Meet Me at the Bar: Epilogue

As she slowly drifts into the land of wakefulness she feels their bed moving as someone crawls beneath the blankets. A press of a kiss to her bare shoulder follows the arms wrapping itself around her as the owner of those arms murmurs, "Being asari does not mean two hours is all you need for sleep, Liara."

Liara breaths out a soft laugh. "Then you shouldn't have left, Shepard."

She feels Shepard's lips curl into a smile as her bondmate presses another kiss slightly above the first.

"Well," Shepard says softly. "I'm back now."

Liara hums in acknowledgement at the chosen response. The warmth of Shepard's embrace soothes her, making her drowsy again. As the asari hovers between not-quite-consciousness and falling back to sleep, the back of her mind tries to nag at her with old doubts but she is able to suppress its pull. In the arms of the only one that matters, Liara is warm, comfortable, safe, and basking in the love Shepard is projecting through their bond.

"Shepard?"

Her bondmate answers her name with a questioning sound.

"Remind me to thank Garrus later."

The joking whine from Shepard brings a smile to Liara's face. "Do we have to~? I'm already getting him drinks and a silencer scope! I'll just make a note it's from both of us."

A blue index finger gently prods her bondmate's arm a few times, leading to Shepard grumbling as an exaggerated sigh, "Fine."
