I ECHO-ed Gaige, Maya, and Lilith to get the booze out of the Technical, since Axton was caring for Sal's wounds. Zer0 and Krieg were off doing a job together, so they were out of the question to help. Kind of odd if you ask me; a Psycho and an Assassin working together. How does that even work? I carried the girl towards Zed's, my mind racing as I hoped she wasn't too hurt while the three girls demanded questions from me.

"Mordecai, what the hell is going on?" Lilith demanded from from my ECHO. "Why aren't you helping us?"

"I need to see Zed." I put simply, trying to weave me way around everyone. Why were there so many damn people here?

"Why? Are you hurt? Is everything okay?" Lilith asked, worry and concern taking over her.

"I'm fine, it's for someone else." I said, pushing people out of the way.

"I'm sending Gaige up there." Lilith said before I could protest. I groaned as I stood outside Zed's door, pounding away with the toe of my boot. Gaige came running up to me, pushing people away as she reached me.

"Alright Mordy, what's up?" She asked as she pushed the door open, her attitude was riddled with sass.

"I'll explain in a minute." I muttered.

"Mordecai, what're you doin' here?" Zed asked, wiping his blood stained gloves on his already filthy smock. He saw the girl in my arms and motioned to the table. I breathed a sigh of relief and set the Siren down with care. Gaige kept saying my name over and over again and tapping my back, trying to grab my attention, but I didn't give in. She huffed and walked out of the building, but I could care less.

"I found this Siren in the Dust... she passed out and I felt like I needed to help her." I said, running a hand over my dreadlocks. Zed nodded his head before shooing me away.

"I'll need the space." Zed said as I walked outside, my head throbbing from stress. "Come back in an hour or two, she'll be fine till then." He said as he slammed his door shut.

"Mordecai, what's going on? Gaige said something about a Siren?" Lilith asked, arms crossed and hip cocked. I sighed and looked at the three women before me.

"I was in the Dust trying to get some booze when I saw this girl and she had a Blood Wing egg and she passed out, so I took her in." I managed to say one breath.

"What?" Lilith asked, her face scrunched up in confusion.

"Again, I was in the Dust. I was stealing some booze. I went by a camp and saw her." I said motioning to the door. "She had a Blood Wing egg-"

"Where is it? The egg I mean." Maya asked. I jabbed a thumb at my back before continuing. The bird was sitting in the sling I kept on my back for when Blood wanted to rest or hide.

"She passed out on me. I figured since she was a Siren, I would help her out. Now I'm here, wondering if I did the right thing. I don't know her!" I said, feeling lost. I was getting worked up to the point where I was fidigting and looking for something to do. Lilith wrapped her arms around my shoulders, runing circles on my back.

"Why are you wondering if you did the right thing?" Maya asked. "She's a Siren, why wouldn't you help her?"

"When Lilith, Roland, Brick, and I came here, we had problems with a Siren known as Commandant Steele. She tried to get the Vault Key numerous times and succeeded in the end." Mordecai explained, looking over his shoulder. "Seeing another Siren out there makes me feel a little uneasy."

"Don't freak out. The last thing we need is two people in Zed's." She said before releasing me. Maya gave me a side hug while Gaige patted me arm, looking awkward. They all knew I would do something irrational if I kept up my act. "Besides, she didn't try to kill you when you were with her. I'm sure she can be trusted somewhat."

"How long do we have to wait?" Gaige asked after a few moments silence.

"One or two hours... I bet it'll be longer." I said as I rubbed the back of my neck.

"Cool, let's get a drink." Gaige said as she tugged us all to Moxxi's.

Zed walked out of the clinic after three hours, all of us waiting some-what patiently outside the clinic. I was pacing while the other three tried to make me sit down. Lilith was trying to keep good posture about it, but I could tell she was worried about the outcome of bringing an unknown Siren into the city.

"Good news Mordecai, that little lady is gonna be okay. Bad news, she can't walk very well; she lost a lot of blood. She is gonna need to sleep alot" Zed said, ushering all of us inside. The girl was still unconscious and sickly pale. She was stitched up in most places, but everywhere else was covered in gauze.

"We can let her sleep in the Head Quarters, that way she doesn't wake up in here." Gaige offered, looking at the girl with mild interest and gesturing to the blood-stained walls and floor. "I would die if I woke up to this."

"She did wake up when I sown up her gashes... poor thing shrieked and passed out again; screaming something about how she couldn't be back here already or something, I forget..." Zed said as he scratched his head in wonder. I walked over and picked the Siren up, her purple hair falling over my arm, her body limp like a rag doll. She still had the ghost of a smile on her pale lips, which made me wonder why she would still be smiling after landing on Pandora.

We all walked back to the HQ, buzzing with questions of what to do and say when the Siren woke up. Gaige opened the door and led the way to upstairs.

"I think we should ask what her name is, since Mordecai didn't bother to get it." Lilith said, arms still crossed over her chest, but smiling. I rolled my eyes, even though she couldn't really see my eyes.

"This is very exciting! Another Siren on Pandora!" Maya said, her voice high and happy. I smiled at Maya before looking down at the Siren in my arms.

"Before we harass her with questions, let's just get her inside." I said as Lilith pulled the blankets back on the dingy little bed.

"Be quiet, she's waking up!" Gaige yelled after a few hours.

"Gaige, practice what you preach." I whispered fiercely. The Siren's eyes snapped open and she looked around herself calmly before clearing her throat.

"W-where am I now?" she groaned, looking like pain searing through every inch of her body. She looked at herself and nearly flung herself out of the bed. "What happened to me?!" She gasped, trying to sit up but end up screaming in pain.

"Calm down, it's alright." I said. She looked up and had a look of recognition. I looked at her and gave a small smile once she calmed down. "Mornin' sunshine."

"Hey..." She said as her pretty eyes studied me. She snapped out of her trance and looked to the others. "Where am I?" She asked again.

"You're in the Crimson Lance HQ." Maya explained. "What's your name?" She asked as she walked closer to the other Siren.

"I'm Joanne." She said with suspicion lacing her voice. "Who're you guys?"

"I'm Mordecai. The red-head over there is Lilith, that's Maya, and this is Gaige." I said after pointing out everyone to Joanne. She looked up at all of them and smiled slightly, looking happy to see a few friendly faces.

"Where're you from?" Lilith asked from the corner of the room.

"Hades; living proof that there is a hell." Joanne said, trying to sit up but instead got a wave of pain crashing down on her. I handed her a bottle of home-made Rakk Ale."

"Where's that at?" Gaige asked, a confused look covering her face.

"Center galaxy of the six." Joanne said, opening the top of the bottle.

"I've heard of it; isn't it ran by a handful of corporations trying to take it over?" Maya asked. Joannes eyes went wide as the sweet liquid hit her tongue and the back of her throat.

"SWEET MOTHER OF GOD, WHERE HAS THIS BEEN MY WHOLE LIFE?!" She demanded from the now empty bottle of Rakk Ale. I laughed slightly, watching as she tried to get the last few drops out. She looked at everyone and blushed at her sudden outburst. "Sorry. Yeah, but that's not the whole situation. All the people who are against the corporations live in groups, who fight other groups. Then we fight against the corporations, obviously. Then the corporations fight with each other to feel like they rule Hades, when in fact the only thing they have control over is the temperature in their offices." She said, sitting up properly for the first time in a while. Thank God for alcohol. "I've been tailed by groups and corporations for being a Siren; they all want me to fight for them and get them to power."

"Well, what happened?" Maya asked as she leaned forward in interest.

"Hades is networked into every planet in the six galaxies so we have vast knowledge of everything that goes on. When the second vault was opened, it triggered other vaults to open on different planets. Hades had Eridium in that vault, which the corporations tried to harvest for their own use. They heard of slag experimentation when they couldn't find a significant use for the stuff and decided to kidnap me and force me through it. They found out there is some sort of link with Sirens and Eridium and they tested that theory on me, but with slag first. They just pumped gallon after gallon of slag in me, then forced me to use Eridium, which permanently enhanced my Siren powers. I escaped only to be sold out by someone in my group, someone I trusted." She finished, playing with the lip of the now empty bottle as every horrid memory come swarming into her eyes. I could tell just by the hurt and scared looked that flashed through her eyes.

"What's the theory?" Lilith asked in wonder, snapping Joanne from her memories.

"The theory is that there's a link between Sirens and Eridium. When enough Eridium is consumed by a Siren, they give them powers beyond belief. I discovered that I can use slag, corrosion, fire, and shock instead of my normal powers." She said, watching Lilith smile wickedly.

"How much Eridium?" She demanded.

"I have no idea. I told you, I was injected with a crap ton of slag then forced to use a block of Eridium." Joanne said, watching Lilith's eager smile turn down in a thoughtful frown. I watched as Joanne slowly slumped down in the bed.

"Why don't you get some rest?" I offered, taking the bottle and standing up.

"Thanks Mordecai." She said before letting her eyelids droop. I walked into the other room with the others and stopped when I heard her speak quietly. "Shut the hell up, or everything is going to be messed up." She growled.

AUTHOR'S NOTE! Okay, there have been changes to this chapter and the previous. I'd love it if people who actually like this story tell me what they thought, what needs to change, or if they think I'm the most amazing person ever! (I don't have an ego *Suspicious look around the room*)
