Naruto silently contemplated the past as it continued to rain. Those days shortly after the incident were some of the longest in his lift. The long days were filled with dread. Naruto would often remain in his room despite his friends and family worrying about him and their attempts to coax him out of it. His adopted mother Susan had often left food at the door that stopped them from worrying too much. Unfortunately, Naruto had only taken the plates and refused to eat until he had no choice.

It was on his ninth day that he finally gained some clarity.

Naruto tore his eyes from the view of the sky. The endless blue was somewhat comforting. He stood and drew the curtains closed. He picked up a notebook. The first page was scribbled on messily. The page consisted of messy notes and ramblings of a solution to bring back his lost love. The next few pages were more detailed ramblings. The pages beyond that included small notes.

The pages beyond that were heart-breaking. He had poured countless hours and innermost thoughts into the pages. At one time he used to look at those pages daily. Now they were filled with far too much sorrow. However, he forced herself to look at each word. He knew them all by heart but he forced herself to memorize them.

Each word was filled with desire. He wanted too much and thought too little. That was why he remained in her room. Eventually those pages reached their conclusion. The next pages were worse. They were filled with the happiness that he lost.

He continued on, memorizing all that she could. When those pages ended there was nothing but white silence. In his silence dreams permeated.

"Do you want to go join the others?" Naruto asked as Cornelia perched delicately on the end of his bed. They had just got a call from Will and the others that everyone was going over to the Vandom house for movie night.

She sighed and her head fell forward, her golden hair framing her face with the movement. He itched to run his fingers through her silky hair.

"Not really." She replied. "I'm not really in the partying mood. But if you want to go that's fine. I mean you should spend more time with your family."

Naruto chuckled. "My family had me attached to their hip the past two days. If it wasn't my mom then it was Will being my shadow. I'm sure they can go without one day of making sure I don't get kidnapped. Besides if there is anyone else I'd rather be than it'd be you."

She looked up; her cheeks flush at the compliment. "Are you flirting with me? And here I thought you liked older women."

"Upon reflecting I like my women mature and age doesn't equal maturity." He stood up and extended his hand to her. "Come with me."

With that they made their way to the forest. Half an hour past as they began traveling through the moonlit forest, silently holding hands and sneaking bashful looks at each other before they arrived at a clearing. "Look up." He said as he pointed to a clearing.

Cornelia gasped in awe as the beautiful clearing of flowers consisting of alpine pansy, trumpet gentian, spring pasque flower, and glacial buttercup. "It's so beautiful."

Naruto turned towards Cornelia. He studied her silently as she gaped in wonder. He watched as suddenly her look in awe turned into one of focus. He wondered what she was thinking when she raised a hand and before he knew what was happening all around him luscious green grass began to grow along with bright colored flowers blossoming all around him. He stared in awe at the Guardian of Earth.

"You know you could probably make a killing as a botanist."

"I know I'm amazing." She winked over at him flicking her hair over her shoulder with a smug smile.

"But not very modest." He replied with a roll of her eyes.

She moved closer so that she could touch her mouth to his and gave him a soft kiss. He wasn't prepared but he didn't push back, instead deepening the kiss and was rewarded with a breathy little moan from her.

"I…" her blush deepened. "…when you went missing I was afraid I'd never get the chance to do that."

"I'm glad you did. So now I can do this." He smiled before returning the kiss. His tongue slid out to meet her as Cornelia closed her eyes at the warm sensation that was running through her body. The two of them fell back on to a bed of flowers as laughter escaped her lips. Unconsciously Cornelia moved to straddle him, reestablishing the kiss and placed her hands on his shoulders for support. If he was surprised by her boldness he chose not to mention and continue to kiss her as he got lost within the passion.

The kiss broke and Naruto began trailing wet kisses along the column of her throat and the arch of her neck. As his hot breath tingled against her skin he inhaled deeply smelling the expensive perfume that lingered on her skin mixed with her own natural smoky scent. He felt her fingers dig in to the flesh of his shoulder through his jacket as she began to lightly rock her body against his, creating a delicious friction.

Her head fell back as she gyrate her hips in small circles, her mouth releasing small pleas that sounded vaguely like his name. He bought his hand up to support the back of her head and ran his fingers through her silky hair.

He slid out of his jacket arm by arm as his tongue continued to wrestle against hers. Free from the confines he wrapped an arm around her waist and turned them around. Placing Cornelia on the jacket he deepened the kiss and pushed against her, his hardness making contact with her inner thigh. Cornelia cutely mewed as she continued to attack his lips, biting and nibbling at any skin she could find. Before they could go any further a particular cold chill drew their attention back to the fact they were outside.

Much to Cornelia's disappointment Naruto moved back. He stood up and extended her hand to which she took. Scooping up his jacket he placed it on her to which she affectionately kissed his cheek. No more words needed to be shared between them.

His daydream was sharply ended by a green pulse. He was brought back by the waking world as the call became stronger. 'Lillian' he thought as he disappeared in an explosion of magic.

All children grow up with Fantasy and Adventure novels, but as they mature, they flaked of their dreams of becoming Princesses and Knights for more mature ideas, but not Lillian Hale. She was not a normal child by any imagination. From a young age her attention was taken up my fables and fairy tales, often encouraged by parents to explore her imagination.

Lillian was not a child of magazines, gaming and gossip, but of art and music. She looked reading epics, enjoying colorful images and dividing into fantasy. Lillian would spend their time all over the city finding something to make their dreams about fantasies. One of Lillian's favorite things in the world was when Naruto would come over and tell her all these elaborate stories about Ninja villages and foreign lands.

Because of her obtuse interests Lillian didn't have too many friends the cruelty of children making itself apparent when Lillian's interests became known. Lillian would only further go into her shell during her family's death before her eyes with her only remaining link to normalcy was her late sister's lover who adopted her.

As usual it was another lone day of high school life. Lillian kept to herself as she made her way to a locker when a cold breeze brushed past her. She found herself thrown to the side by a sudden explosion. Her ears were ringing and the air was knocked out of her. It took a few seconds to recollect herself as the sound of screams began echoing.

From what she could make out the lights were damaged with sparks erupted and hanging wires. Most of the lockers had been destroyed with bits of metal tossed about and there were people screaming and crying everywhere. The lights would flicker as administrators tried to calm the students.

"So this is the Heart of Earth a mere human child." The voice came out in a frosty hollowing whisper that could not be mistaken for anything human.

The creature had a skeletal exoskeleton as white as snow with sapphire eyes, jagged teeth and claws with exposed, lime colored beating pulses. "I'll make this quick child!" it said as a blue mist began radiating from his hand.

"No! Don't!" A wave from Lillian's hand sent the creature flying, but it managed to halt itself with one of its hand. The sharp appendage jamming into concrete like it was paper. The creature gets back up and flies to her, but it is stop by a thin barrier. Lillian is shaking, the barrier will break soon, and she was paralyzed with fear. This was just like all those years ago when that creature attacked her.

"Dad, Mom," she whispers. Tears began to stain her eyes. "Cornelia…I'm sorry." She stars to cry. If only she was stronger then maybe. The creature lunged only to be stopped by a bright green aura. Without warning something lopped off the creature's left arm with a grinding slash. When the aura faded Naruto stood there with a kunai drawn.

"Your kind took her from me, but I'll be damn if I let you have her sister as well."

"The Earth's Regent. Then I'll dispose of you as well!" The creature leaped at Naruto who mirrored its magic. After all these years the battle for the Hearts have been renewed.
