Wow I am really blown away by how much attention the first chapter got. I really was not expecting it to get so much. Thank you all to those that had review, Favorited, or followed. It really gives me the motivation to write another chapter. I am hoping the plot that I am running through my head at the moment is enough to keep you guys excited! Anyway we are going to be getting into Chapter two! Now there was one review that came to my attention so I wanted to explain it a little. This is a version of Miyuverse Shirou, however you don't need to watch or read that series to know what I am talking about other than appearance. I am going to do my best to explain him and his situation as much as possible to make you all understand what is happening at least a little and won't be incorporating that story into this one outside of references and small flash backs. I have hoping I can nail his personality and character contrast with this other Shirou. So other than that I don't have much to say, thank you all again. And I hope you enjoy this chapter.
Fate/ Stay Night: Salvator, Chapter Two: Their Pact.
"It's been awhile, you look good. . .So then, I guess you are my Master. Tohsaka."
For Rin Tohsaka, those words were enough to break her focus and turn this into one of the only times in her life were she was truly and utterly speechless. This man before her. . .no this boy, he was Shirou Emiya. But he was also not Shirou Emiya.
His face looked the same, his voice sounded the same, and he even smiled the same. Yet, there was small details about him, the way he looked at the world before him, the way he held himself, that showed Rin that he was not the Emiya she knew. The one she knew, was a stubborn boy, borderline stupid most times and seemed to good for the world around him. Yet this one, seemed older. Not in the sense of physical appearance but mindset.
His eyes were the biggest difference between the two. Usually those golden orbs of his shined with the smile on his face and burned with the stubbornness to continue forward the way he was. Her "servant" on the other hand had eyes that lead to nothing. Blank and emotionless. Like he had nothing left to prove, nothing more to fight for, nothing else to keep those eyes of his burning.
They were cold.
He had grown up. Seen the world for what it really was, the good, the bad, the worse and then some more. All pilled into his own eyes and it was more than clear that it had taken a toll on him. Rin could see that through his eyes that revealed more than he probably wanted. But, in some strange way. . .it hurt her. Not in the sense that it made her feel pain but more or less felt sadness. There were other reasons as to why it was so, ones that she probably did not want to admit, but it was sad to see those stubborn eyes finally give way.
Rin Tohsaka did not know how to feel, nor did she know what to say. She took in his appearance and the more she thought about what he had become, what he would become, the more she got confused. She was no idiot, so figuring something like this out wouldn't usually take that much time. But the situation at hand was a little more than distracting. His red cloak, his black plated armor, the red head band that kept his red messy hair out of his eyes, his height, his smile, all so strange, but also strangely familiar.
Her servant was Shirou Emiya, her classmate, someone she had a very important memory of. She wondered if this Shirou knew her the way the one she knew did. He seemed to know her name, but what else did he remember. How was he a heroic spirit? What had happened to him to make him look so coldly at the world around him. These were all question that flooded her mind, but none came out. Only a simple word, tainted with hesitation.
"E-Emiya?" She repeated, but not in the same context as last time.
This time it was a reach, a confirmation of the man standing before her. Solid evidence that this was indeed Shirou Emiya and this was indeed her Servant. Her voice filled with uncertainty, not enough strength in her person to hold the confident and most of the time bossy attitude. Was this really him? Could he have changed so much.
She did not move, standing within the door way of her now trashed living room. The servant calling himself Shriou did not move, instead he nodded his head slowly and spoke. Even his voice was different, the tone he used was not the lighthearted one she was used to. His held a certain chill to his words, a strength but also a void to his emotion.
"Yeah, but seeing the situation we are in, it would probably be best if you started to call me Archer. Wouldn't want any of our enemies to know my name, now would we?" He responded, a slight smirk on his face as he watched Rin's expression.
That was all she needed, this was real, this was real. It was beyond shocking that someone she knew, no more than that, that he was her servant. A heroic spirit. There was so many questions she wanted to ask, but the shock she was experiencing currently stopped her from doing such. Yet, there was something that had caught her attention.
Despite his cold attitude and look on the world, he spoke with a somewhat. . .snarky attitude? The tone of his voice was enough to break her out of her own thoughts. Causing the young mage to widen her eyes for a moment and finally catch her breath. It was a nice change of tone. A tone that she had never heard from Shirou Emiya before. Maybe that is why it made the situation easier to swallow.
But wait. . .what did he say? Did he say call him, Archer?
For Rin the situation switched almost instantly, it was a nice distraction from the current situation. Though it came at her own expense. For the moment she had forgotten about the servant she had summoned and thought about the class she had summoned. Grabbing her head, she angrily shook her own hair. Turning around on her heel and crouching to the floor.
She had summoned the wrong class! "I did it again! I wanted Saber not Archer! Why did my father have to give me this task, I can't seem to catch a break!" Rin told herself as she continued to scold her own actions.
Shirou Emiya on the other hand merely looked at his Master, Rin Tohsaka with a slightly dumbfounded look. The first reaction he had gotten was something he was preparing for, one he was expecting. This on the other hand however, well this was a little different.
He went to reach out his hand to say something but stopped himself as she continued to yell at herself or her father. Shirou really could not tell which one it was but found it rather amusing in some way.
In life he never knew Rin personally. Of course they went to the same school together, which meant they seen each other in the hallways. Not to mention being a boy in high school, Shirou heard all the talk concerning Rin and the general lust for her attention. Yet, Shirou never really had the chance to interact with her, let alone build a friendship.
There was a brief time after he was freed and she had saved him using a pendant. The same pendant that she had used to summon him, of course at this point the Archer assumed it was on accident. However, that brief moment of selflessness that allowed Rin to save Shirou's life was a moment that he had indeed taken to heart when it came to judging the woman's character. Because of her he was able to muster the strength to save someone dear to him, that was more than enough to make her a good person in his book.
In school he had heard stories of Rin Tohsaka being stuck up, bossy and over all a huge. . .uh, witch. Shirou in school was never really one to judge, let alone let rumors of another control how he looked at them. But, given the fact that he himself had never talked to her outside of small talk and when he did it really did not end on friendly terms, he never really had any evidence to prove them wrong. But when she had saved him, he could see it in her eyes that there was someone that truly cared for others, at least the ones she loved and cared for, deep down.
The whole attitude of being strong willed and bossy must have been at least a mask. What the mask was for Shirou did not know. There was talk of her parents not being around, her father passing at a young age and her mother not really being in the picture. That could have been a reason right there. To prove that she was strong without them, that she did not need the help of her parents to make it on her own. It was a tough goal to handle for a young girl.
He did not know if this was true, for all he knew this was just a wrong assumption of character, but Shirou liked to believe this over the rumors. He too had experienced something similar. His own father passing at a young age and leaving the young boy with a dream, an ideal.
To become a hero of justice that saves the world.
But. . .it didn't turn out like that.
Despite all that his adoptive father had taught him, Shirou went the other way in life. He did not save the world, he did not become a hero of justice, and he did not save the many over the few. He threw that all away for one real dream in his life, to save his sister.
He gladly took on the role of a villain to save her, damned the world along with it. He just wanted one person to be happy. He could not save Sakura, he did not hold his father's dream, everything he knew in life was ripped away. Even the closest friend he had in school was fake, nothing more than a mask to get to him and use his sister to save the world.
That should have been his path. The path to save the world at the cost of one life. His father understood that path, followed it until his death. But Shirou couldn't believe it. He had seen the worst that the world had to offer. The pain, the war, the death all of it. He felt much like his father in the sense that he did not want it to continue. He wanted to be a hero for his father, but he also wanted to be a hero for everyone. If the cost to achieve that dream was the life of someone he loved, was it really the dream of being a hero? Or was that just how the world worked.
In the end, his life ended with just saving the one, the one goal he was able to achieve in his life and one he had made on his own. But, he could not do it without the power of a counter guardian, the counter guardian EMIYA. The power to save humanity at his disposal used to merely save one person. And in death because of that power and his own goal, he took the place of that counter guardian.
Perhaps it was a curse, to forever live his life within the snowy lifeless wasteland that was his inner world. To be forever reminded that he did not withhold the ideal of his father and that everything he once knew was gone. He was truly left with nothing.
But then again, he was left with something. The memories of his future self, at least a small part of them. At times he would see flash backs, small pieces of memory from the man that was once a heroic spirit. With those memories came feeling, how EMIYA had felt during those times, even briefly what he was thinking. Shirou could feel the amount of pain the man was in. Forever trapped within his own broken ideal. Forever hating the man he had become due to said ideal, but becoming aware that said ideal was nothing more than a fake dream that could not be achieved the way he wanted.
That was Shirou's different path. The path that he could have walked. Forever drawn to conflict and death. Forever fighting against an ideal that he held so dear. Now, he was left with nothing, the ideal dissolved into dust and the people he cared for now long gone.
At least that white haired man had the chance to rest, for now it was Shirou's turn.
One day he would become EMIYA, at least in a sense. He would change into that man, even his hair one day becoming white and when it did he would take on the contract that EMIYA had made with the Counter Force all those years ago. This situation he was in, being summoned by a girl he once knew, in a world that he once lived in was comforting, but also quite painful.
But, unlike his other self, Shirou was okay with this path.
He had done all he could do, at least for his sister. She was his own salvation, for when he saved her he had finally achieved his goal and died with a smile on his face and hope that his sister would live a happy life. So death, well death did not matter. He would become the worlds puppet, sacrifice his own soul if it meant she would be happy, and hopefully she was. So now. . .all that was left was for him to become EMIYA. An EMIYA younger than the one that once was, a EMIYA that had achieved his goals in life, however a Shirou that was more like EMIYA than any other.
Quite ironic don't you think?
Of course this had all been going on within his own head. His deep thought must have some how made it to the surface and was seen on his face for Rin was the one that had to break him out of it. It would seem that she was long done with her own fit of frustration on summoning the Archer class not the Saber class. Shirou would have to make fun of her for that later.
"Emiya, why don't we take this else where? I have some questions for you." Rin said, noticing Shirou's rather cold and deep thinking look as he stared through her but also nowhere.
However, the sound of her voice was enough for him to regain focus. The true nature of his face disappearing as he allowed the gentle but also blank look on his face to reappear. His golden eyes underneath his red messy hair locking with her bright and crystal blue eyes. He nodded his and smiled lightly. But, Rin could see something underneath. Something that did not sit right with her.
Though he had his face, his voice, his hair, his eyes, his smile, this person was not Shirou Emiya. Not the one she knew. He was cold, empty. . .broken. It almost hurt her to see the boy she knew to be some stupidly native, stubborn, and just plain annoying sometimes in such a state. Too grown up even, as if the world had shown him the worst of the worst. It was like. . .he lost everything.
The moon had soon passed it's highest point, now slowly moving out of the black night sky. It was 2 A.M and as the Moon was slowly descending towards the horizon it shined dimly, a mere imitation of the amount of light given off by the sun, into the rather large glass window and door that was placed on the upper floor of the Tohsaka mansion.
This glass wall was the outside symbol of the room that the Master and Servant were currently in. In the prime of the Tohsaka family, this room was known as Rin's Father's Study. Here he would work on all sorts of projects, civilian and mage alike. However, the current state of the room was a mere shell of what it used to be. Now it was empty, no source of life was never usually found within it's walls and the objects such as books and other small collectibles were left on the shelves to collect dust and sit ideally by.
Even with the two within the room it seemed no more lively, for not even the lights were on to show that there were indeed signs of life. For now, all that the two used was the dim light that was provided via the moon in the night sky. The curtains that usually covered the large amount of glass on the wall pulled all the way to the side to allow the light within the room.
Rin Tohsaka, despite her usual nature sat quickly on one of the two couches within the room. Shirou Emiya, her newly summoned servant found his way to the glass wall behind her father's old desk and kept his yellow eyes planted on the night sky.
There was so many points and details that Rin wanted to question, analyze and solve. This boy, no, this servant was not like the person she knew. Not only was he well, not human, he also did not share the name naive and cheerfully bright look in his eyes. He was cold and quiet much like the moon he currently stared at. He seemed so lost and lonely. His past was so strange and his very existence brought up so many interesting questions for a mage like her to think about.
But, did she want to know the answers to all those questions?
There was more concerning her thoughts of her fellow classmate Shirou Emiya than she liked to let on. Given that she was the only living member of the Tohsaka mage family and that she had many important tasks in front of her, being a great mage, being the head of the family, winning the Holy Grail, thinking about boys let alone allowing her self to be involved with such relationships even in mere rumors was something she did not need. All said bonds were merely distractions.
Then again, that did not stop her in the slightest of sometimes thinking.
She had once seen him high jumping over and over again. He had no chance of clearing such a jump given how high he was jumping and his previous experience, yet he continued to try. Rin had watched him that day continue to do this over and over again. Such stubbornness to continue forward and try to over come such a challenge that seemed so far out of reach, that was what had attracted her to him.
Being the type of person that Rin was, she would have never committed the same course of action over and over again if it continued to prove useless. She would have took a step back and changed her approach, or also she would have deemed the action useless and gave up entirely. The fact that Shirou Emiya was either so stubborn he was stupid, or so naive that he did not see the problem with wasting such time was a quality she wished she had sometimes. An easy way to escape heart breaking situations or difficult ones.
But this Shirou did not have that and it is very possible he once did. Was she ready for something like that? To learn that the naive boy that was Shirou Emiya can be broken, his light can be dimmed. Yet, at the same time she already knew it was possible for the fact the man was standing right in front of her. That alone hurt.
Did she want to hurt herself more?
All these questions continued to run through the young mages mind. Sitting on the couch with her legs pulled to her chest as her blue eyes narrowed at nothing in front of her. She was lost in her own mind, thinking over and over again about the situation she was in and the identity of her own servant. Her thumb rubbed up and down on her own knee in a simple way of fidgeting, showing her frustration of not being able to come up with a simple answer.
But, just because Rin Tohsaka was lost in her own mind did not mean her Servant Shirou Emiya was.
He had walked to the window shortly after Rin had made her way to the couch and continued to sit quietly. He knew there was probably more important tasks to be handled, the Grail War was here and Rin was his Master. Then again planning never really was Shirou's strong suit when it came to fighting, maybe it a shred of good lucky that allowed him to be paired to Rin. However something told him there was more going on other than that.
Rin was not usually the type of person to sit and stay quiet, let alone look so troubled. It was true that Shirou knew almost little to nothing about Rin in her personal life, let alone anything outside of the school day. But from what he could gather, she was a person that liked to handled her issues and move on. Ignore them or cut her losses and continue forward. She was strong willed, smart, and skilled, she liked to use all of those qualities when it came to handling herself. Or so he thought.
Yet, here he was. Standing silently next to a window and watching peacefully as Rin looked more than troubled. Shirou believed it was more than time to move forward with whatever was going on.
Shirou took some steps forward, the sound of his black combat boots making their way across the carpet that was placed within the office. The gentle but quiet thud being a sign that he was indeed moving towards Rin and the couch. However once more she did not move, she continued staring. She really was lost in her own mind.
"Isn't like you to sit around so quiet and mopey, Rin." Shirou commented with a slight smile on his face as he looked down at her from the side. His one hand covered by the red cloak that belonged to his future self, placed firmly on his waist as the other covered by the white cloth stayed aimless at his side. "I thought you would have been ordering me around by now, yelling screaming all that fun stuff."
There it was, the dry and sarcastic nature that he shared with his own future self. His future self, and well Shirou too, mostly got it from laughing at their own situations and the places they would find themselves in. This situation was no walk in the part for Shirou either, but instead of sitting on a couch he figured he would laugh at it. Maybe cause some trouble with his Master.
Maybe that would get her mind off the situation.
It seemed to be enough, Rin finally moving her blue eyes away from the spot she had been inspecting for the last ten minutes or so. She turned to look at him, her eyes widening slightly from both confusion and surprise. She was not expecting him to say anything, let alone something like that. Such a snarky remark was truly something that annoyed her but she could not help but feel that he was indeed right.
She had done nothing but sit around and be shocked at what was going on. Afraid of the situation she had been put in. She did not have time to be afraid, if she did she would have not joined the Holy Grail war. Right now she needed to be a mage and a Master. She was a Tohsaka after all.
"Hmph." She said quietly as she stood up from the couch with her back facing him. Opening her eyes she looked sadly at the ground. She knew she had to continue forward and that she was not going to be happy with the responses she would receive. She did not want to hear the pain of Shirou Emiya, but. . .she was a Master and she would figure that situation out down the line. She had to.
Tightening her hand into a fist she swallowed her emotions for now and looked up, narrowing her eyes as she turned around to face him. Looking him in the eyes she did not seem pleased with the remark that he shot at her and crossed her own arms. "I am your Master but that does not mean I have to command you to breath, does it? You are about as thick headed as I remember. Anyway, I was merely thinking, I can't do that when I can't even hear myself think."
This was good, Shirou was glad she was back to the way he remembered her to be. It was a lot more comforting to think that he was with Rin when she acted like this as his Master, rather than Rin if she just sat on the couch the whole time. Then again, it would be rather inconsiderate if he thought she was only capable of doing that, she was human after all.
"That so? Well I guess it's a good thing you are thinking things through. Were you coming up with a plan for us to win this war? Hopefully you haven't forgotten." Shirou said, another simple quip towards her. The more and more he thought about it the more and more he believed he was basically already EMIYA before the man started to take over his body and merge with his own.
"Of course I haven't forgotten! When did you become so annoying, Emiya. And as a matter of fact I was, though I didn't get very far." Rin stated before placing a hand underneath her chin, her tone becoming a lot more calm. "Usually masters are able to use the name of their servant and formulate a plan to use the the abilities of that servant tied to their name and create a strategy that will best use those abilities. But. . ." Rin looked back up at Shirou, her eyes narrowed and questioning. "I do not know anything about you or your abilities."
Rin lowered her hands and took a step forward, all this time she had been thinking about how it was possible that someone like this Archer existed, she came up with no explanation so she figured she would ask directly. "I first thought that you were Emiya from another time period, another reality. For years the theory of the Multiverse have existed but when it comes to the summoning of heroic spirits, there is little to no mention of it. My father was no lowly mage and if it was possible to summon forth heroes from different reality he surely would have tried or researched it, if not him someone else. Yet there is still nothing."
The mage continued. "I than began to think of why this was never discovered, other than the fact that it was never done before. I came to this conclusion, it is not possible. If a hero existed in another time line than the very back story of that hero could change, from minor details to large ones. Furthermore that would change the legend of that hero and thus it's catalyst's that are tied to them. The possibility of those exact items existing here as well are little to none. So when it comes to your very existence Archer, I have little to no idea."
Shirou looked at Rin in a little disbelief. He had heard stories of her being smart, more than smart, but this was something entirely different. She had figured him out almost completely, at least as much as she could. There was indeed certain details that no one could ever simply figure out at first glance but the fact that she had seen through him that must was award worthy at least.
Raising his one hand behind his head, Shirou ran a hand through his red hair. Laughing a little dryly at the situation before him and at the weird situation he was in. "Heh, guess I shouldn't be surprised that you figured that out on your own Rin. Yeah you are right and you aren't. But I suppose this is the part that the servant explains to the Master about their identity huh? Well, I guess I will address what you said first."
Shirou lowered his hand and allowed it to follow suit of the other at his side. Laying aimless as he looked at the mage before him, though that smile left his face and the cold expression he usually worn came back. "It is true that summoning a heroic spirit from another time line would be almost impossible. Given the exact reason that you stated alone. So, yes I am Shirou Emiya from another timeline, a different timeline. But, I also am the future of your Shirou Emiya, from this time line."
This caught Rin by surprise, widening her eyes she stared at the man before her. What did he just say? The future. . .that could't be it either. So he is Shirou, maybe not from her timeline but still Shirou. Confirming such an idea was hard for her to understand and accept. It was painful, just like she thought it would be. "But- how? How is that possible? You are saying that you are-"
"No, I am not your Shirou Emiya and my current self will not be his future. Though soon even I will share that fate." Shirou looked at Rin as she looked even more shocked than before, he continued. "The person that I am is the future self of Shirou Emiya and Shirou Emiya combined into one body. I have the physical appearance and memories of Shirou, but the powers of his heroic spirit self, Counter Guardian EMIYA. Because of this unstable combination, and his power, I was able to take Heroic Spirit EMIYA's place as a heroic spirit. Though neither of us deserve that title."
"So you are saying that you, Shirou Emiya lived a different life than the one now, but your own soul as been combined with his future self making you a heroic spirit? How is that possible?" Rin asked, she was more confused than anything at this point. How could there be this many of Emiya.
"Yes. And it is possible because the Throne of Heroes which holds all heroes, exists outside the grasp of time and space. Though very unlikely, it is possible to summon a hero from the future. And because within me is the future of Shirou Emiya, I was summoned instead of just his future self alone. It is the choices that I made in life that allowed me to become what I am. I did not walk the path that Shirou Emiya should have, and if Shirou Emiya does not walk that path he will be destroyed or will end up on that path later rather than sooner. There is but one path for me. This is it." Shirou stated looking into Rin's eyes.
He was right after all. There was no other path for Shirou Emiya. Fate had decided that he would become a Counter Guardian to save humanity. He would engrave into him the ideals of his father and lead himself down a path that will only end in continuous fighting. He would forever hate the man that he had become and forever wish for his own death. Yet, that was the difference between himself and the others. He did not wish for death, he did not care what happened him. He had done what he needed to.
He saved his sister.
Rin was running all of the new information presented to her through her own mind. Over and over again she thought about the man before her. He was not just Shirou Emiya, he was the combination of his future self, a man that did not walk the path of his future self but would be forced into his life anyway. Maybe that was why he looked so dead. There was nothing left for him, neither in life or in death. Yet, in a strange way she could see he was happy with that.
She on the other hand was not. He was forever enslaved to live a life of fighting, and he was forced to always look upon the world with that look. His darkened and empty look. She did not like that, nor did she want that fate for him. Any of him.
She noticed however that he had mentioned his own fate and had yet to explain his own life. "Your fate? You said that you will one day share it? What did you mean, Shirou?"
Shirou noticed the use of his first name. Something that usually did not happen unless the situation was somewhat important. He could see the torment in her own eyes, the conflict about his personal being. He did not wish for her to care that much about him, not because he was heartless but because it would only bring heart break. "In life I fought in the Holy Grail war, however instead of summoning that servant separately, you summon them into your body and fight using their power to win the Grail."
Shirou did not wait for Rin's response and continued. "I watched summon try to protect me and die, I had nothing, I was powerless, I needed power. So I summoned forth my future self. When I had won the war with his power he had left a deep imprint on my soul. The more I used his power the more I became like him. Sooner or later my soul was fused with his and in death the Throne of Heroes took me as him. I've been trapped inside my inner world because I am no longer human nor heroic spirit, yet since you have summoned me the more I use my power the more I become a heroic spirit. Sooner or later I will become him and the boy known as Shirou Emiya will be gone."
"So. . .the more you fight in this war, the quicker you lose yourself? What about your memories of the people in life?" Rin questioned.
"Once I have become that Counter Guardian, I will live forever. Fighting in different periods of time, over and over again. Not only will I have those but also I have the memories of my future self. It is very likely that I will lose my memories. For now, I have them. So might has well enjoy them while I can, right?" Shirou joked as he smiled lightly at Rin.
However there was something else. Shirou widened his eyes for a moment as he suddenly lost focus. His vision became blurry and the room began to spin. His head became foggy and suddenly there was a large pain that shot through out his mind. It felt as if his mind was starting to be ripped in two. He raised his hand at his head and tried to maintain his focus. Rin watched him unaware of the pain that was going through his body.
Shirou blinked, looking around the room to see the very things he had seen before. Yet, something was off. The area felt different, almost out of focus. He looked to see Rin standing in front of him, no longer by the couch. She was now standing in front of him, her hands behind her back and a smile on her face. She leaned forward and when he went to speak he could not.
"Very well, just see to it that you make me regret my words, Archer. When you do, I will be more than willing to apologize."
What was she saying? Why couldn't he speak or move? The pain only increased. He gripped his head tighter than his body seemed to move on it's own. Shirou looked down at Rin, he never noticed how much taller he actually was.
"Good, just make sure you don't forget, Master."
That voice. . .who was that? That was not his voice what was. . .
Shirou blinked once more to see Rin looking at him. The pain in his head now gone and his eyes able to focus. He stood up straight and lowered his hands, bringing him before his eyes and looking at them. "What was-"
"Hey did you hear me?" Rin said looking at Shirou with a bit of a pout on her face as she took a step forward to look at Shirou.
"Ah, sorry Rin. I wasn't paying attention." He said, trying his best to hide that little fit he just had. Just what was that?
"I said that since I summoned the Archer and not the Saber we are going to have to work harder if we want to win the Grail. I don't know how strong you are so make sure to it that you don't let me down. Archer." She said sternly, her arms crossed and her eyes narrowed.
Rin did her best to hide the expression of worry on her face. She did not have time to mope around concerning the current situation. She would have to be a strong Master if they were going to win the Holy Grail and have their wish granted. Maybe that way he can be saved. Maybe she can give him that look in his eyes that she always admired. They had work to do, fighting this war took highest priority. She would worry about the other situations later.
Shirou looked down at Rin, this time the height difference not nearly as large as before. He would need to think on what that was later. Right now Tohsaka was counting on him, he would not let her down. He hoped that his explaination of his backstory did for now. There was others details he left out to save himself the pain. But, if she asked he would tell her. They were Master and Servant after all.
"I'll make sure I fight my hardest for you, Master. Leave it to me." Shirou said with a smile as he looked into Rin's eyes. However, something told him there was more to this Grail War than he thought. He would just have to figure it out as he went and protect those that meant the most to him.
And with that, their connection through their pact grew.
They were Master and Servant.
That's it, boom! Hopefully that was some good backstory stuff and wasn't too confusing. I know this is advertised as a Shirou x Saber thing so relax it will get there, just Rin and Shirou always do have a strong bond as Master and Servant and I had to set that up first. Furthermore, this is Shirou from Miyuverse but I am going to keep most of that out of it to not lose those that haven't seen it. Which is why I did not go too far into the back story. Next time however we get our first fight and Shirou back into his own world! Anyway hope you all enjoyed, till next time.
Peace.
