Author's Note: Alright so a couple things. First this chapter remains largely the same, so those who have read the first version won't much much new, mostly some minor tweaks and rewordings. Next, I will be trying to take it slow as from now on, seeing as I will be changing a bit of a large plot point by the end of the chapter, and what has caused most of the events to follow. I may go into depths about my thoughts about it at the end of the chapter however as to what I may end up doing.

And another note on the slower updates, I will be taking the time to watch the anime whenever I can so that I can learn the characters and events better. Last thing, which may have not been apparent, is Ichigo has kept his look from saigo no getsuga tensho this time as opposed to his dangai look. I don't know why I decided to do it this way, but there ya go lol. Well, that should do it here, hope you guys and gals enjoy!

Disclaimer: I own nothing, if I did, I would be rich as fuck. Bleach belongs to Tite Kubo and DxD belongs to Ichiei Ishibumi

Chapter 2

It was early on a Saturday morning in Kuoh. Much of the city was still slumbering away as the sun began is ascension into the sky, bringing forth a new day. As it rose from the horizon some of its rays slipped into the window of a modest home, and illuminated the room. It was a decently sized bedroom, the walls painted a nice neutral gray and decorated with posters of various bands or promotional pictures, with a white carpet covering the floor. It included a desk, complete with a fancy looking computer as well as a full set of stationary supplies that any student may need during their studies. Around the room there were three doors, presumably exits to a bathroom, a closet, and the rest of the house.

The last object of note was a queen sized bed, covered with a crimson set of bedding draping over a rather large lump. If one would look closer, they could see this lump under the blankets moving ever so slightly, drawing shallow breaths. As the large ball of fire rises, the radiant beams of light shining through a window shifted towards what appeared to be a mess of untamed hair, black as the darkest of nights. Eventually the rays of light shined directly into the eyes of the young man whom the hair was attached to. This, of course, was very much less than pleasant for the young shinigami, and caused him to begin to wake up.

As he slowly came into consciousness, Ichigo began to slowly open his eyes. Seeing the sun glaring directly into his eyes, he quickly slammed them shut again. A second passed, then another… He immediately opened his eyes fully and sat up faster than the average eye could see. He looked around, taking in his surroundings as quickly as expected as one who has been in many battles recently. Within a couple seconds he had taken in the whole room and his mind was thrown into overdrive, quickly trying to remember what had happened and how he ended up here. For a while he was pulling a blank, and then it all came back to him.

Aizen, mugetsu… dying, and the soul king. Yes, the soul king, he remembered now. The soul king had sent him here hadn't he? Now the real question was, where exactly was "here"? Standing up from the bed Ichigo decided to look around the house and see if there was any clues left for him by the royal lynchpin. Unfortunately he couldn't find anything of note, however the house he was in was, in fact, very nice.

It came complete with a fully stocked kitchen, an extra bedroom, and nice looking furniture and appliances, overall it gave off the feeling that this wasn't exactly cheap. Returning to the master bedroom he decided to boot up the computer he noticed earlier soon after he awoke. After booting it up (which took about a whole two seconds, wtf?) he saw the desktop had a text document right in the center titled "To Ichigo". Upon seeing this Ichigo deadpanned ever so slightly.

"... At least he made it obvious I suppose." Clicking on the document he found a letter addressed to him from the spirit king himself.

"Ichigo, Seeing as you are reading this letter I assume that you have began to settle into your new abode. Before you truly begin your new life here I feel as though I should explain a few things regarding your… conditions. First and foremost the biggest question on your mind no doubt, where precisely are you? Simply put, you are still in Japan, though of course in an alternate dimension. However you are in the town of Kuoh, which is located roughly in the same place Karakura was located. The town itself is filled with mid class to upper class families, which will become more apparent as you walk around town. Now don't worry about having to pay for this home, I had told you I would give you more than enough to begin your new life with. Well, I would like to think that I was able to follow through with that promise.

"As far as your schooling goes," Ichigo groaned at this," You have been signed up for the local high school. Though I must warn you, up until this last year it was an all girls school, it only became coed this year so the number of boys to girls will be thrown off. I have come to realize that you are, well to be blunt, an extreme prude," Cue tick mark, Ichigo could practically see the smile on the soul king's face, "So, I figured you would appreciate the warning at the very least, so you may steel yourself against the upcoming experiences. You begin on Monday bright and early.

Now then, on to manners which I'm sure that you will find quite important, your powers." At this Ichigo stiffened visibly and made sure to take in every detail.

"Now I will leave most things for you to discover on your own, however I will say that it may be worth it to try entering jinzen whenever you get the chance. As I had stated to you before, you will have powers, but they are not quite the same as they were before. Well I suppose that I have taken up enough of your time. I sincerely hope that you can find happiness in this new life. If anyone deserves it, it would be you. Farewell Ichigo, I wish you the best of luck."

Ichigo closed the letter and leaned back in his chair, still processing everything. After a couple seconds of contemplating life and such he decided to follow what the soul king had advised him to do and settled down on the floor. He sat down in the pose exactly as his father had told him, bringing a slight smile to his features as he remembered the goat chinned bastard. After a couple minutes he felt himself be pulled into his inner world. After opening his eyes his expression changed to one of surprise.

The normally sideways city of his inner world was now standing straight up, but this wasn't the biggest change he notices. The previously simply extremely thick-fogged streets were now filled with sand. In addition to that the sky seemingly was an endless stretch of night, without any form of moon in sight. It was almost as if a chunk of hueco mundo moved into his inner world to be quite honest. This, of course, was slightly worrying to Ichigo as it was a major change to his very soul.

'You know, when the soul king said that my powers would be different, I truthfully did NOT expect for that to mean that my inner world gets turned into a damn sandbox!' Ichigo thought while looking around. He searched for several hours around his inner world, looking for some sign of any other inhabitants. Hell, at this point he would be happy to even see that damn lunatic of a hollow he has had to put up with for the past few months. After what seemed like hours of searching, he decided to call it a day and leave his inner world.

Though what he didn't notice as he was leaving were a few faint wisps of black energy beginning to gather near where he had been standing for a good bit. A few seconds after he had left however, these small bits of energy once again dispersed, as if they were never there to begin with.

Opening his eyes once more, Ichigo stood up to stretch his now aching body. Sitting in one position for several hours on end tends to do that to a person. He looked towards the clock on the wall, which read 4:28 P.M. With a sigh, he went decided to go find the safe he had spotted earlier during his home exploration. When he found it there was a sticky note attached to it, which read "0718." Assuming this was the code, he pinched it into the electronic lock. With a beep the safe popped open slightly. He opened it with little effort, finding what appeared to be a card inside, with yet another letter. He grabbed the letter and skimmed it.

"Ichigo,

I hope you are finding your accommodations to your liking, this card which should provide you with more than enough funds for any expense you may need. Think of it as your payment for killing all the hollows back in Karakura. In all honesty Soul Society should have been paying you the whole time but it seems that they had neglected to actually give it to you, something which I will have to send a messenger to them to discuss soon. But I digress, here is your salary, with interest of course."

With a shrug of the shoulders out into the town of Kuoh he went, searching for something which caught his eye. He passed by a few stores yet nothing stood out. After a good while of searching he just decided to grab some food from one of the few fast food places scattered around town. A nice greasy burger sounded a tad therapeutic for all the stress he has gone through recently if he were quite honest.

After retrieving his now dubbed dinner, he returned home. Sitting down at the table to eat his meal, he began to reflect on what had happened earlier in his inner world. Silently going through several possibilities as to what could have caused such drastic changes, as well as where in the hell his zanpakuto spirit could be. Normally Zangetsu would be right there to greet him. Of course nearly every time he entered his inner world it had been in a time of need, but that's besides the point. If he was hiding Ichigo could only wonder what the reason would be.

He mulled over it for a good while, having long since finished his meal and just sitting there, he decided to sleep on it. Returning to his bedroom, he slipped into some nightwear and under the covers, dropping into a deep slumber almost as soon as his head hit the pillow. His sleep was haunted by the memories of the winter war, however. Of everyone falling to that madman Aizen, of his training with the fusion of Zangetsu and his hollow, and lastly to Aizen becoming that… abomination. Some sort of amalgamation of hollow, humanoid, and butterfly. And to complete it an eerie visage that would haunt any lesser man's nightmares for years. Though the very last thing he saw before the darkness completely took him for the night… was a pair of piercing, blood red eyes seemingly staring through him.

Waking up with a start, the black haired teen abruptly sat up in his bed, breathing heavily. His body covered with a fine sheen of sweat. Those intense crimson orbs burned into his mind. Taking some time to get his erratic breathing under control, he soon got out of bed to start his morning ritual. He grabbed some clothes, went to the bathroom adjacent to his room, and freshened up, cleaning himself of the layer of sweat covering him. He studied himself in the mirror for a few moments, taking in his new appearance.

He had retained his look from the use of saigo no getsuga tensho. His now black hair fell down to the middle of his back. His eyes were now the color of freshly spilled blood, not similar to those he had seen haunting his dreams last night. Though the bandages which previously covered his face were gone, revealing his trademark scowl. Though when he examined his teeth, he found them to be slightly sharper than normal for some reason. Overall, he thought he looked quite good.

Though one thing he was rather displeased with was the bags under his eyes, signifying a rather restless sleep due to the memories of conflict plaguing his teenage mind. Not truly surprising, he supposed. He was a mear 16 year old and had already fought against many creatures that would have shaken many a seasoned war veteran with their bone white masks. He began to turn, but out of the corner of his eye he spotted what appeared to be an anthropomorphic mass of black energy behind him in the mirror. Complete with those damned red eyes he saw.

Turning around quickly, nearly giving himself whiplash in the process, he swung towards where the figures head would be, only to hit nothing but air. Dropping into a low battle stance, he looked around for any signs of this humanoid mass. Yet as he observed the room he found nothing amiss. After standing like that for a few minutes, making absolutely sure that there wasn't anything there, he relaxed a bit, quickly leaving the bathroom after he finished dressing himself.

As he exited the room, he went towards the kitchen to find something to eat for breakfast. He decided upon some bacon with pancakes, a classic. As he cooked the first signs of light began to stream through the windows to his home, signifying the start of a new day. The terrifying visions woke him up earlier than he thought. After breakfast, which was actually decent thanks to Yuzu's cooking lessons, he decided to get on to his computer to find out a little more about what exactly he has gotten himself into.

For most of the day he researched things about this world, finding only small if nearly nonexistent details changed. One of such being that Karakura doesn't exist as he was informed before. He also tried to look up more information about the high school he would be attending this next day, not finding out much he didn't already know. Its name was Kuoh Academy and, like he was told, was up until recently coed. After a fairly fruitless search, and doesn't that seem to be the theme for these past couple days? He decided to, after fixing himself a quick meal of course, head to bed early. Might as well make a good first impression, he supposes.

Waking up bright and early the next day to his alarm, Ichigo proceeded to go about his morning rituals. When he got to the uniform however, his scowl deepened slightly. It looked more like a suit than he was used to. Deciding to just say fuck it, he ditched the ribbon meant to be on his neck, tossing it back into the depths of the closet from which it came. He also decided to leave the blazer open, finding it a tad constricting for his comfort. Finding his alterations to the monkey suit acceptable for the moment, he tied his hair into a loose ponytail and grabbed his briefcase which held all of his supplies he would need. Grabbing some toast on his way out, he left his humble abode after locking up and began his commute to his new school, which, to his pleasure, wasn't terribly far away from his house. After crossing through the gates of the school he began to hear the whispers of the other students.

"I haven't seen that guy before, is he new?"

"Damnit we got another pretty boy to deal with, now we'll never stand a chance!"

"Oh~ he's kinda cute don't you think?"

"Do you think he's single?"

At the last one Ichigo blushed slightly. Good lord he hoped that this wouldn't be an everyday occurrence, though with his luck it wasn't likely. Just deciding to tune them out he proceeded towards the main office. Though along the way he felt like he was being watched the whole way. Shrugging it off as being new and being looked at by generally everyone, he continued forwards, though the feeling never ceased. After a good while he finally found the main office, though he was pretty sure he made one of the guys piss themselves after he asked for directions. It wasn't his fault if they were scared of him damnit! Opening the door, he stepped into the first room of the office, spotting a well dressed lady sitting behind a desk in the rather spacious room. Stepping up he spoke,

"S'cuse me, I'm Ichigo Kurosaki, just transferred here so I need my schedule."

The lady looked up at him for a moment, then proceeded to search through a few drawers, seemingly looking for them. After a minute or so she found a small sticky note with something scribbled on it in writing he couldn't read from where he stood.

"Ah here we go, it appears that the principle was just looking over your file so she would have it. You should be fine to just go on in, its down the hall to my left and the door at the end."

Giving a nod of thanks he walked down to where the secretary had specified, spotting a door labeled "Mrs. Arishima, Principle" With a slight sigh he knocks on the door a couple times before entering the room. The office is decently sized and looks rather inviting, a heavy scent of fresh coffee saturation the air. The walls decorated with a few different pictures of nature and those stereotypical inspiration posters that you can find in any school's office. The wall opposite to him is almost completely a window, allowing for a nice view of the rest of the campus.

Just towards him coming from the window sat the principle, Mrs. Arishima if the door was correct. And indeed it was as at the desk she was currently seated was one of those name plaques which mimicked what the door had said. In front of the desk two comfortable looking chairs were placed. Now the principle herself was a rather pretty woman, her brown hair tied up into a bun with a single strand running down in front of her face. She wore a suit as befitting of someone of her position as the principle. She sat with a mug of what appeared to be steaming coffee (if the scent in the air was anything to go by) in one hand and a file she was looking over in the other. She had looked up upon hearing Ichigo knock at the door with a small smile on her face.

"Mr. Kurosaki, I presume?" Ichigo gave her a quick nod.

"Wonderful, please have a seat."

And so he proceeded towards one of the chairs in front of her, his long strides carrying him swiftly. Sitting his briefcase to the side of him, he lounges in the chair, hunched forward slightly with his forearms resting upons his knees. They sat there in silence for a small amount of time while Mrs. Arishima sorted through a drawer hidden from Ichigo's view from where he sat. After a moment she finally pulled out a file and opened it, reading over it quickly. She looked back to him soon enough, having finished skimming the file.

"Everything seems to be in order for you, Mr. Kurosaki," she took out a sheet of paper and passed it to him with a smile, "Here is your schedule, I trust that you can find your way to your homeroom then?"

Ichigo scoffed, "I should hope so, I spent a good amount of time wandering around lost before I grabbed someone for some directions" The principle gave a slight chuckle at this.

"Well then I believe that should be everything." They both stood up. "Welcome to Kuoh. I hope you enjoy your time here, Mr. Kurosaki."

Ichigo gave her a small nod as they shook hands before he exited, finding his way towards his homeroom. After wandering the halls for a few minutes more, he swears the place was built like a damn maze! He finally finds the correct room number. Approaching the door he can hear several voices all talking over one another, with a much older sounding voice trying to get them all to quiet down. Sighing to himself, he puts on his trademark scowl and knocks on the door. After a moment a slightly older looking gentleman comes and opens the door and looks at Ichigo for a moment.

"Kurosaki, I presume?" Ichigo nods. "Alright, give me a second then, come in when I call you."

The door shuts as the teacher walks back into the room. Soon enough he can here the man raising his voice to a much louder tone than before. The room silences and he can hear some muffled talking. After a minute or so he can hear the older teacher call out to him.

"You can come in now!"

Ichigo opens the door and enters, looking around the room as he does so. However as he is walking over next to where the teacher is he gets that uneasy feeling he had earlier, as if he was being watched by something. Again though, he shrugs it off as he did just walk into the room. One thing he does notice, however, is that there is not a single boy in the class. Ugh this is not gonna be fun. He silently thanked the soul king for the warning he gave as it was the only thing that prevented him from freaking out. He was standing next to the teacher by this point.

"Alright, go ahead and introduce yourself." Ichigo nodded and began to speak.

"Hey, my name is Ichigo Kurosaki and before anyone asks, my name means 'to protect one thing', not strawberry damnit!"

His introduction earned him giggles from all the girls in the class as the whispering started. He sighed in exasperation, this was not going to be a fun year was it? The teacher began to speak again over the students.

"Alright, now that that matter is settled feel free to pick any open seat."

Ichigo nodded to the man and looked around, he found an open desk right about where he sat while attending Karakura High. He strode over, set his stuff down, and plopped down into the seat in an almost lazy manner.

"Now then class, if you could get out your books and turn to…."

Ichigo began to tune out the man after a while. He had already learned most of this stuff on his own. He practically had to with as much as he had to take care of hollows, he was able to cram a couple years worth of material into his head whenever he got the chance. Let it be known that Ichigo Kurosaki was not a complete idiot, he just never really cared much to give it his best effort. He began to stare out the window, looking at the sun just barely over the buildings. Though that feeling of being watched seemingly intensified soon after he had sat down.

Discreetly looking at the reflection in the window, however, he couldn't find anyone who would be watching him. Everyone was either off in their own little world or actually listening intently to the teacher. Though there was one student who stood out from the rest. Probably because of her hair color. She had long crimson red hair with a single strand sticking up and out, not unsimilar to an antenna. She had blue green eyes and a figure that many would more than likely kill for. All things considered, she was probably one of the more beautiful people that Ichigo had ever seen, and he has seen many for sure.

Ichigo blushed slightly, remembering all of the teasing he had endured in the past months. He may have been a prude but he'll be damned if they didn't try to tempt him! Pushing those stray thoughts aside he returned to gazing out the window.

The day progressed as many other school days had for him in the past, slowly and mind numbingly. Well, aside from having to deal with nearly every girl from the class when lunch came about. They all flocked to his desk and asked him everything ranging from where are you from to will you go out with me. He shudders at the thought. Though oddly enough the red haired girl just sat in her seat, watching the whole thing with an amused smile on her face. It was better that way, he supposed, one less fangirl to deal with. The final bell rang for the school and Ichigo quickly gathered his supplies and sped out of the room, hoping to avoid getting swarmed again. He swiftly exited the building and began his walk home.

After arriving to his house, Ichigo decided that, as he had nothing better to do, he would go for a run. After changing into some clothes that didn't restrict his movement, he put some earbuds in and his playlist on shuffle, he ran while jamming out to some fast paced music, running to the rhythm. Once more the feeling of being watched returned, though this was slightly different. He felt more like an animal in the scope of a rifle than simply the slight uneasy feeling he had felt previously in the day. And once more he shrugged this feeling off, assuming it to just be nerves from starting a new school. Though to be honest it was probably just him trying to get used to everything. He didn't have to worry about hollows anymore, which was a good thing as he still had no luck with finding his zanpakuto spirit so far.

A ways into his run he passed into a nice looking park. As he ran he noticed a couple teens that looked like they were roughly his age, maybe a year younger or so. They seemed to be out on a date as they were leaning in for a kiss. Though that was when something unexpected happened. The girl suddenly had a light in her hands which she used to stab the young man in the gut, blood spilling everywhere. He stood there for a moment in shock, trying to process what was happening as the young lady seemingly transformed into a, well, a very attractive woman clad in what basically is some sort of S&M outfit, not that Ichigo knew what that is, he thought with a blush staining his cheeks.

Suddenly he felt the wind being displaced behind him. Thanks to his experience in battle, he dodged out of the way quickly. However his arm gained a small scratch as he didn't have the speed of his shinigami form to assist him. He turned to get a good look at his attacker. The man looked to be roughly in his 30's. His short black hair somewhat hidden by a fedora. His tall frame was covered by a gray trench coat.

His well dressed assailant spoke up. "Well now, I certainly didn't expect you to be able to dodge that. Though I don't expect your luck to last forever." He smirked slightly, "This isn't anything personal kid, it's just that you have too much power sitting inside you, making you a threat. Can't be too careful right?"

"A threat? A threat to what?" Ichigo asked cautiously

The man just smiled at him. "That's for me to know and for you to never find out. After all, what use is there in telling that information to a dead man?" And with that, the man with the spear of light charged at Ichigo.

Ichigo once more dodged out of the way, this time trying to send a fist to the back of the man's head as he went by his side. It connected, though it didn't seem to have much of an effect. The man let out a small laugh, seemingly amused by the teen's attempt to fight back, before turning around quickly. He stabbed his spear forwards towards Ichigo once more. Ichigo cursed. In his human body he could get out of the way quick enough. He really regretted not spending more time trying to access his power and find his zanpakuto. If he had his power, this man before him wouldn't have lasted more than a minute.

Suddenly, as if reacting to his thoughts, tendrils of black energy burst forth from his body, converging towards the man flying towards him, aimed to kill. The energy found its way embedded into the man's chest, his face showing an expression of surprise. The spear of light slowly dissipated as the light left his eyes. Soon enough he drew his final breath, before going limp. The tendrils slowly retracted themselves from the body, which now fell to the ground in a pool of its own blood. As the energy entered Ichigo's body, he felt himself beginning to lose consciousness due to the use of what little energy he had available to him.

Slowly, he began to fall backwards, though before he could hit the ground, he saw a red light appear next to where the other boy's body lay, someone stepping out and looking over at him. Before anything more could happen though, he seemed to hit the ground and fall right through it into what appeared to be a portal made from the same black energy he has seen before. He felt himself fall onto something soft, he glanced around with the remnants of his consciousness and found himself to be in his own room.

With that he found himself closing his eyes, finally succumbing to his weariness and falling into the darkness of sleep. Soon enough, however, he found himself standing upright, a small breeze hitting his face. His eyes opened to find another pair of crimson orbs floating a small distance away from him. The anthropomorphic mass of energy still shifting and twisting as the red eyes pierced Ichigo's own. Suddenly, he heard a voice which seemed to belong to no one.

"Hello, Ichigo."

The figure lunged.

AN: Alright, so I changed the ending here. Now there shouldn't be any thoughts of Ichigo becoming a devil. Now I have had his own powers save him. Hopefully this is a bit more believable than having him be stabbed without a fight. His human body couldn't match his spirit form, so even though he had the reflexes, he lacked the strength and speed to win. So by doing this, it should be a bit more believable, and lets me keep a couple ideas in place. Though I apologize to those that say that telling Rias of the situation is overly used, to which I agree, however I'm not quite sure how to do things otherwise to tell you the truth.

Now to discuss some reviews:

"Lord of Insanity" (awesome name btw) says that I should try to find another love interest for Ichigo as Rias and Akeno are overused. And while I agree to an extent I find that in the majority of the stories I have read that they have been focused on Rias. Also I have been throwing around an idea given to me about having Grayfia as an interest as well. So while I think that while Akeno will definitely be in there, she may not be the only one. I don't plan on having Rias in it though. Need to give Issei some motivation right?

"Phantom Symbiote" asks about Ichigo having his true zanpakuto. Well I have made my own version of his "true zanpakuto", or an original sword if you will. It isn't the dual wielding version though, so to give you the short answer no. However it will be introduced next chapter.

"adislt" says that the spilling of info to Rias is overly cliche and suggests that I should perhaps make it so that he has to spill the beans, so to speak, to someone else such as sona. And to this I agree as well. However I tried to write this chapter with a different ending, and tried to think of how I would get him introduced to the devils' world. However after sitting there for a good half an hour I still hadn't thought of anything. Hence I have changed the ending from the original so that he at least doesn't go down without both a fight and a good reason. I hope this is at least a little better for you as he isn't just getting stabbed out of the blue and doesn't even attempt to dodge.

Alright, so as I have said before, updates will be slower as time goes on. Hopefully this is fine for many of you as it should, keyword being should, lead to at least a bit more of an entertaining story. Hopefully you guys and gals have enjoyed the story and to those that have read the first version, I hope the change to the ending was satisfactory to you. Have a nice day and happy holidays!
