I felt a tear roll down my cheek. I thought that, finally I'd found it, the place I had been searching for, for what seemed like an eternity. I turned away from the camp of clustered tents, picking up my weathered old suitcase from beside me. Sighing, I started back up the hill, momentarily glancing back down at the camp, hoping that by some kind of miracle it would of turned into my dream destination, but as far as I could tell it was probably another one of those eco-warrior headquarters. "Sorry, Dad, not this time either", I looked up to the sky as if I thought that my dead father would say something encouraging, then catching myself even believing for a second that was possible chuckled to myself. 'I guess I'm crazy too now"
"You don't look crazy to me" I turned around frightened by the unknown voice but as I looked into the menacing forest I didn't see anyone, then from behind me I felt something tap my shoulder "you looking for me?" I turned around again, coming face to face with a boy who seemed to be 14-15 years old. "You scared me!" I exclaimed to the brown haired boy. "Yea, I tend to do that some times" he said smiling "My names Darren Shan, who are you?" "Teagan Ebony" "Nice name" he said nodding to himself as if remembering it "What are you doing out here?" "Umm…" Before I could respond I was cut off by a approaching voice "Hey Darren! I found a dead dog!" Then stepping out from the cover of the forest came a…..boy? "Darren…Oh" The three of us stood there awkwardly for what seemed like hours! Finally, Darren spoke "Uhh.. Hi Evra, good job finding the dog, this is Teagan Ebony" He said nodding his head in my direction. I looked up at this Evra, realizing I was looking down and smiled "Nice to meet you Evra, that's a amazing costume you're wearing" Darren burst out laughing, confused I looked back at Evra, and noticed he was blushing as if he were embarrassed. "It's nice to meet you but…this isn't a costume…." He trailed off, staring hard at me as if waiting for my reaction. I surprised him by smiling "Then is this camp what I think it is?" "Welcome to the Cirque Du Freak" Evra said, relieved. And together the 3 of us walked back down the hill, finally I found it.
