It's a New Year, so I figured I'd add something to my first fic. This is just the reactions of some of the vigilantes. It's short and not that good, but oh well.
Disclaimer: I don't own Young Justice or anything related to DC Comics.
Nightwing and Batgirl were used to the surprises that came with the Hero business. Most of the time, those surprises were horrid: the thug had a gun hidden in his pocket, the death toll far outweighed the amount of survivors, the victims had three children at home, the list went on and on. This, however, topped all of that by a landslide.
"Jason?" Nightwing whispered as he stared at his brother. Like you were very brotherly, he mentally told himself.
The Red Hood sighed. "We should go somewhere else," he said sounding defeated. He led them to one of his safe houses nearby.
They had a lot of catching up to do.
Bart thought it was weird to see his cousin pacing. He knew it looked like running back and forth to everybody else, but the brunette thought he was going too slowly.Must be anger. Or irritation. Wait, that can't make you slow down. Wouldn'titmakeyouspeedup?
The boy fidgeted. He knew that the upcoming conversation would be hard on him. Why did his song have to talk about his mask? The relief of being in such a peaceful time was immense. It hardly mattered if he was really happy anyway.
He was content with his life now. No one needed to know that he woke up from nightmares every night, careful to not make a sound. They didn't need to know about his lack of an actual appetite, either. That was normal in his time. He took extra care to cover as much skin as possible, too. The scars would raise too many questions.
Questions that Wally was now sure to ask.
Conner looked nervously at Cassie. She was cute. The lighting of the cave shined off of her hair to where it appeared to sparkle. Her blue eyes were clear and always shined with happiness. Not to mention that her figure would have most men drooling all over themselves. She had the looks to be a typical prom queen. A king was all she needed to complete the image.
Meanwhile, Cassie inspected the Boy of Steel. He was perfect in every way. His dark hair was cut in a stylish hairstyle. His eyes held a look that would lure any sane woman in. Muscles bulged out of his arms. He was the image of a star quarterback. All he needed was a cheerleader on his arm.
They smiled at each other.
