Coincidence
Neither of them believed in coincidences, both for very different reasons. Dawn believed in fate and destiny, and that everything was written in the cosmos. Scott believed that whatever happened, happened because you made it happen, and if things went bad it was your own fault. So after the Island, when Scott dropped the can on the ground instead of in the recycling bin, and a voice gently chided him, he only blamed himself. When Dawn looked down from her tree and saw the familiar head of red hair that she was chiding, she thanked the cosmos for this opportunity.
