Thanks to the reviews! I'm glad you all liked it so far. Just so you know the story is going to switch pint of views every chapter between Eden and Jack. Also please let me know if Eden begins to seem mary-sue-ish. Because I don't want her to be a Mary Sue.
Disclaimer: I do not own The Joker. Sadly. And on with the story!
Heaven:
My hands were sweating terribly as the last bell rang. I was sitting perched outside of the school waiting for her. I didn't know what to think of this girl. She wasn't the most beautiful girl in school according to the usual standard. Her ears were a little big, and she was really short. But it's those types of things that make someone more beautiful to me. Flaws. She wasn't blonde, or tall, or a cheerleader. But I appreciated her. After all, she was the only person to ever consider herself my friend.
"Hey Jack!" she called as she came running up. Her dark hair fell in loose curls as she approached.
"..He-Hello." I said quietly. We walked in silence for a while until she began asking me questions.
"So- have you lived here long?" I had.
"Do you play any sports?" I didn't.
"Have you ever had a girl friend?" I hadn't.
As we approached her home her father was in the yard. He smiled warmly and waved at them, as they went inside. Her house smelled like laundry and cookies. A small woman came into the room. It was her mother.
"Mom this is my friend Jack. Jack, this is my mom." Eden said introducing him to the petite brunette.
The woman didn't smile. She continued to walk past us, only giving a little nod.
"What's it like at your house?" she asked as we sat at a small table in the kitchen.
I licked my lips unconsciously.
"I live with m-my d-d-dad. My mom le-left when I was six."
It was silent for a moment.
She put her small hand in mine and gave it a squeeze. So this is what happiness was.
