Edward's POV:
Bella kept walking, so I walked behind her and grabbed her arm. "I know you heard me."
When I forced her to turn around and look at me, I laughed at the fear in her eyes. I enjoyed bullying her because she never told anyone. Rose and I circled her. Alice and Jasper didn't wanna join in on the fun. I roughly pushed her away as both Rose and I stopped walking. Rose then walked up to Bella's face and flashed Bella a smile that was perfect.
"Happy birthday, Bella. Do you want your present?" She asked sweetly. Bella shook her head shakily. "No? Too bad. You're gonna get it anyway." She hissed.
Rose punched her in the stomach, and Bella cried in pain as she fell to the ground. We all laughed, even Alice and Jasper who were standing to the side just watching with hidden amusement.
I knew that if Emmett found out, we would all be dead. Emmett is huge and very frightening at times, and he is very protective over Bella. I looked down and saw that Bella was crying. I kicked her. I rolled my eyes and sneered. She was such a wuss.
Rose and I continued kicking her. Some were soft, some were rough. Some were fast, some were slow and painful. Thank God I wore my steel toe boots today. Alice and Jasper preferred to watch, I guess, though they joined in yelling and calling her names. We kicked her harder and yelled at her harsher and louder as her crying became even more annoying.
"Fat whore!"
"Ugly bitch!"
She began to cry louder and louder. Then, after I felt a bit exhausted, I said, "Stop. Leave her. She's disgusting anyway. We also need to head to class before anyone hears her cries."
As we left, I leaned down and whispered in her ear, "Tell Emmett anything and it gets worse."
We went to class, leaving the annoying bitc- Oops.I mean, Bella on the ground crying. As I walked into my first period of the day, Math, I smirked. Oh, Bella. I have an even bigger birthday present for you. Just you wait. Just you wait.
Bella's POV
After they beat me up, I was left lying in the parking lot behind one of the teacher's cars, crying my heart out. After a little bit, I finally got up and went to class, walking in 20 minutes late.
The day went by quickly. After the final bell rung, I went to the restroom. And then, of course, I walked outside to go home. Once I got out in the parking lot, I realized Edward and I were the only ones out there. Was I really in the restroom for thirty minutes? Though I didn't want to, I kept walking. Out the corner of my eye, I saw Edward whip out a knife and start walking toward me. My eyes widened in fear and I guess he saw it.
"Don't move," he threatened.
Naturally, I didn't listen. Would you? No. I don't think so.
I took off running towards my house, where Emmett was. Where Emmett was, that's where I'm safe at. Edward ran behind me, fast. Edward was on the track team so, of course he was gaining on me. If only I could make it to my house. I took a shortcut to my house down an alley, though I should've know this was a bad idea but I was just so happy my house was right around the corner.
Fifty yards, Bella, I thought. Fifty yards. You can do this.
And then, of course, my clumsiness got the better of me and I tripped and twisted my ankle. That didn't stop me though. I got to my knees and I started crawling as fast as I could. Then, all of a sudden, a hand wrapped around my ankle. I was being dragged back into the alley by my twisted ankle. I screamed and twisted and begged as sharp shots of blinding pain raced up my leg.
I was kicking and wiggling trying to get away, reaching out trying to grab anything I could. I looked into the now dark, almost black, eyes of Edward Cullen as he turned me towards him. He had the knife in his hand.
I sobbed. "What-what are you going to do to me?"
"Well, I was only planning to use the knife to intimidate you. But, since you ran, I decided there will be a change of plans," he stated coolly, as if he does this on a daily basis. I wouldn't be surprised if he did.
I squeaked. "L-Like what?"
He sneered and said, "I can show you better than I can tell you."
He sat on my torso, all the while he spinning the knife in one hand as I lay there helplessly on the ground, crying. Then he put all his weight on one knee and began to trace my arm with the knife. He stopped at my right shoulder. Then he pressed the knife deep into my shoulder. I screamed. He dragged the knife downward and cut me from my shoulder to my elbow. I remember screaming so loudly my ears burst and I couldn't hear or see for a moment.
He traced the knife up my outer right thigh.
"Happy birthday, bitch." He said, and plunged the knife into my thigh. Blood spattered onto the pavement. The last thing I saw was Edward looking down on me, smiling cruelly as I lost consciousness.
