Sherman and Penny headed to the penthouse where Mr. Peabody lives. The canine was reaching an old age, having gone partially blind, so he had Sherman help him with his necessities, such as washing and feeding. The WABAC was rarely used, slowly gathering dust.

The couple entered Mr. Peabody's bedroom. He was lying in his bed squinting from the lights being turned on.

"Hey, Mr. Peabody", Sherman greeted his father.

"Sherman?", he asked, holding his paws in front of himself. He then felt the familiar texture of his son's hair, glasses, and growing facial hair. Mr. Peabody took a deep breath to hold back his tears. "What brings you here? Is everything alright?"

"Everything's fine, dad. We've just come to tell you some news. Penny?"

Penny approached the bed, with her hands on her baby bump, she was now eight months pregnant. (They we're unable to tell Mr. Peabody as soon as possible due to spending most of that time at the hospital from his declining health. He was eventually sent home in...hospice care for an unspecified amount of time. [sorry for the tone shift]).

"Good morning, Mr. Peabody", she said. She held her hand out to her father-in-law. He placed his paws on it to hold it firm so he could kiss it.

"Good morning, sweetie. What news do you have?"

Sherman gets closer to his father's ear and whispers, "Penny's pregnant, dad." The hound has his paw placed on his daughter-in-law's belly, then slowly smiles, breathing short but heavily. "Dad, calm down, I don't want to lose you now."

"Sorry, Sherman. I'm just happy for you two. Oh, my son's gonna be a father…" Mr. Peabody hugs the couple, although with some struggle, trying to get his paw around Penny's shoulder. He cries at the news of becoming a grandpa, but also at the idea that he might not live to see his grandchild. But he was gonna hold on. He wasn't going to let his age take him down. What will keep him going is his never ending love for his son and daughter-in-law.
