The building is old and run-down, but it is still imposing as it stands firmly. The colour of the walls have already been overcame by yellow stains that prove that there has been no care for the exterior design for decades. There are also huge eerie looking trees around the yard leading to what I presume is the main building.
Despite the dark and creepy atmosphere, a few figures stand at the porch. One of the silhoueette looks like a girl in the suit of a nurse, another resembles a circus showman, and a few more of the others in clothes I do not quite recognize.
I walk up to the group before noticing the solemn visage their faces are wearing.
I hesitate before approaching the nurse, in her hand a syringe filled with red liquid. Up close, her face is fair and comely, her hand tied back into a bun hidden under her cap.
"Hello there, miss, are you waiting for anyone?"
All eyes on me, I immediately regret coming over, but then the circus showman speaks up.
"The owner of the manor would meet us here, at the main building, at least that is what we think this is. It is written in the invitation letter, do you have one?" He smiles, a bright downwards curve.
"I do," I fumble with the keyboard in my hands as I try to get a free hand to reach into my pocket. Sure enough, the letter mentioned meeting the owner in front of the main building.
"And that's why I have been waiting here for almost three full hours. I thought it would be more polite to come early, but when I reached, there was not even a single soul. Talking about souls this place creeps me out, so seeing another one reaching the manor is a welcome sight. My name is Freddy Riley, nice to meet you, and you are?"
"Viex Weston, I am a musician here to participate in some game the letter described to win the grand prize. I assume you all are here for that too?"
"Aye, that we are," a cowboy looking man extended his hand for me to shake it and i fumbled with my keyboard again.
"I heard it is some kind of survival game, to escape some kind of room together in a team. Some kind of hide and seek, that's what my friend told me when he first came here, I can't find him though," Freddy said.
Looks like there are many competitors for me, but why is everyone so queer, like why is everyone wearing their work uniforms here. I don't remember the letter telling us to dress formally in work attire, I mean, I only came in a casual clothes.
There are footsteps sounding behind the main entrance before a rattle of chains as the big doors swing inward.
