Silence
"Valkyrie Cain, I love you truly, I would kill every faceless one in
existence to keep you safe. I would give my life to keep you happy,
and I would move the stars to keep you strong.
I love you more than anyone has ever been loved. Will you marry me?"
All around her was silence except from the scrape of chairs as people
turned around to look at her.
" The distance to the furthest reaches of space and back are but
centimetres compared to the lengths I would go to be with you for
eternity. Yes, I will."
The sounds of cheering and applause exploded from around them, and
Valkyrie had never felt happier in her life. She embraced him tightly,
her feet leaving the ground as they kissed each other. She knew then
that she would never be without him.
And she was right.
