A/N: How does one girl get another girl pregnant?
Beats me, but I'd assume it'd have to be done very carefully.
Honestly though, I don't know how it even happened, some tumblr anon just wanted it and I'm here to please.
Sorry this took soo long to update, by the way!
The past seven months have been anything but fun for our favorite couple.
Brittany was quick to brush off any and all hurtful rumors but Santana struggled with it. She really didn't care that people were talking shit about her, she just hated the terrible things that were being spread about her girlfriend.
Neither were stupid, they were well aware of the cruel whispers in the hallway.
"I always thought Lopez would be the one to get knocked up."
"Brittany is such a slut, it doesn't really surprise me."
"Wonder how Satan is handling the idea of her girl toy cheating on her."
"She deserved to get cheated on anyway."
"Hey, maybe Hopez has a dick. She acts like it."
"Brittany Pierce is too stupid to keep her legs shut."
"I didn't know dykes could do that."
But Brittany being the person she was, always distracted Santana in some way when it seemed as though she was about ready to throw down with someone.
Santana didn't bother telling anyone that she was the "father" of the baby. What use would it have done. I mean, would you have believed her? She was always one to let her fists do the talking anyway.
But school was now out for the summer, and the baby was due sometime in late July or early August. So for now, that aspect of things was silenced.
Then there was the whole matter of their parents that they had to deal with.
Santana had never expected her parents to believe her, so she wasn't surprised by the fact that they didn't. They spoke to her slowly and calmly, as if they were trying to explain where babies come from to a five year old. Then, they delicately told her that the only possible explanation for this "mess," as they put it, was that Brittany had cheated on her.
Of course she refused to believe anyone that doubted the whole thing. She'd sooner come to the conclusion that Brittany was pregnant with the second coming of Christ, and it was the immaculate conception all over again.
Mr. and Mrs. Lopez even suggested that Santana get counseling for the apparent "attachment problem" she had to her girlfriend. Which caused her to explode, saying that even if the baby wasn't hers, she'd take care of it anyway. She wasn't even sure if her own words were true though, because even if she loved her dearly, there was only so much she could take.
Brittany's father, on the other hand, was anything but nice about the situation. She had put off telling him until she started showing, and by then, he could've easily figured it out for himself. Baggy clothes could only do so much to hide a rapidly growing baby bump. Screaming and name-calling ensued, which was shortly followed with the girl being tossed out onto the street, being told that she was never welcome at her own house again.
Naturally, Santana came to pick up the sobbing girl, packed her away into her car, and drove back to her own house. Even if her parents were insanely skeptical with everything that had been going on, they couldn't turn away a girl they'd known since birth. The girl that happened to be the person that their daughter was head over heels in love with. And the girl that could doubtedly be the mother of their grandchild.
So of course, Brittany set up shop in Santana's room and cried for hours. She'd already been six months pregnant at the time, so her hormones were going crazy before the whole ordeal with her father had even taken place.
"If my mom were still alive, he wouldn't've been able to do this," She cried against her girlfriend's chest, words soft and hoarse as she struggled to form coherent sentences. Her words had been true too.
Santana could only hold the crying girl, trying to comfort her in any way that she could come up with. But her normal methods of cheering the blond up didn't even get a hint of a smile, which was understandable. The last time she had been this upset was back when her mother had actually died, and she'd stayed holed up in her room for weeks, just crying.
Nothing could be quite as bad as that had been, but that didn't make her current situation good either.
With much convincing, the Latina managed to calm her down with explanations of how stress could be hurtful to the baby, and then got her to eat something. The pair stayed wrapped up in each other for the rest of the night and for the rest of the summer, Brittany stayed right by Santana's side without one more mention of her father.
"Santana?" Came Brittany's voice, late on a muggy August night. It was dark in Santana's room, and she had been half-dozed off, so she only gave a half-hearted grunt in response. "I think my water just broke."
It took less than a second for the wide eyed brunette to bolt right out of bed and run to alert her parents. Mr. Lopez rushed downstairs to get the car started, while his wife got the overnight bag for Brittany that she'd packed months in advance, picking up extra things as she buzzed through the house. Santana helped the pained girl out of bed and to the car, nearly shaking in a mix of excitement and nervousness.
Santana's parents might've been skeptical at first, but after seeing how the girl had taken care of Brittany throughout her pregnancy, they were just about ready to except the baby as their grandchild.
In just a few short hours after the four of them arrived at the hospital, a brand new baby girl was wrapped up in a pink blanket, safely tucked into a worn out Brittany's arms. Santana sat by her bedside with tears in her eyes, looking down at the infants little tuff of blonde hair, and big chocolate brown eyes that were curiously staring back.
"San?" Brittany whispered through a small yawn, looking up at her girlfriend.
Santana's eyes averted to ocean blue, and she gave Brittany a soft smile. "Yeah Britt?"
"Do you wanna hold her?"
The Latina only nodded in return, afraid she'd get too choked up if she tried speaking. She brought the little girl into her arms, holding her protectively to her chest. "I'm always gonna protect you," She murmured quietly, rocking the infant gently.
Maribel Lopez was wrapped up into her husbands arms as they watched over the young couple from the doorway of the room, warm smiles on both of their faces. They'd protect the new baby too.
Later that night, when Brittany had asked Santana if it was okay to name her Sugar after her passed mother, there was hardly even a need to discuss it. Santana thought that would be perfect.
Both Santana and Brittany's names were on the birth certificate. They both knew that no matter what might happen, little Sugar Maria Pierce-Lopez was going to have all the love in the world.
Plus, they only had one year left of high school. They could do it.
A/N: I'm sorry for the lack of dialogue but that's kind of just how it came out, in an effort to speed the story along. Hope you at least kind of liked it anyway!
