Lucy arrived at the guild with a bang as she slammed open the door and greeted everyone. The feeling was still there even though her birthday was a month ago. It was a small stinging feeling from deep within her stomach. Lucy knew that she should speak to someone about it and, has been trying to get herself to speak to Master but she knew that it may be nothing and she didn't want to annoy him. The walk to Master's office is short and Lucy arrived there quickly. Before she could talk herself out of it she knocked on his door.
"Come in my child."
His office was small and full of papers, knowing that they are probably complaints, fines because of their recklessness Lucy smiled a little.
"Master, I need to talk to you about something."
"I know child come and sit down."
Lucy wondered how he knew. Master Makarov looks at her and smiles a little, calming her down instantly. Lucy told him all about how she had been feeling and how it started after her birthday and he just looked at her with the same soft blue eyes and nodded slowly.
"And I know that it is probably nothing and I am probably wasting your tim-"
"Lucy, it is okay. It is time that I tell you something that I probably should have a long time ago. A long time ago, a dragon came to my home and took me to a forest where she told me about a child whose power was so great that she had to lock it away along with all the memories of them being together. She left the child with me and disappeared. I couldn't look after the child as my life was very different from what it is now. So I sent the child off with an old friend of mine Layla Heartfilia. She was unable to have children and so she was happy to have you. She loved you from the moment that she saw you. I never told her about where I got you from but I think that she understood that you were special. It was fate that you came back to here and found me again. I didn't know who you were at first and then i saw the scar on your neck that I remembered and I have dreaded this day since."
That was so much information at once that her head started to spin.
"I- you- what if-"
Lucy's mind numbed and she didn't know what to say so she stood up and ran from the guild, ran from the words that change the part of her life she thought happened and ran from the problems. She didn't stop running until she was in a forest that she had been in so many times with her team. She stopped shortly after entering and slumped against a tree, panting and sniffing. Lucy knew that she was not angry with Master but she just had leave and digest what he said. Tears start falling from her eyes and she wiped them away quickly.
"Eh! What do we have here Rogue! A weak little Fairy crying like the weak Fairy she is. What happened Fairy? Someone yelled at you?"
Lucy looked up to see the twin dragon slayers smirking down at her and she just glared at them with disgust.
"Just go away and leave me alone. You don't know anything."
They just laughed and shook their heads.
"Weaklings. Come on Sting, we have to go."
God she hate them! Lucy knew stories of their awfulness and she couldn't believe that she was one of them. A dragon slayer, though she had seen good dragon slayers; Natsu, Wendy and she had known some bad ones that have turned good, Gajeel, but those two were just all bad. Lucy knew that she could never like someone like them.
Lucy sat there for a while thinking about what Master said to her. About what was to happen next and what she should do. When evening came Lucy stood up and shook her cramped legs.
"LUCY!"
"LUCE! WHERE ARE YOU!"
Lucy smiled widely as she heard Natsu and Happy. They're her special team and she vowed to never leave them. Lucy loved them all to bits.
"I AM HERE GUYS!"
Lucy stood still as she was expecting to be tackled and it happened soon enough as Natsu and Happy lunged for her. They hugged her tightly and wouldn't let go.
"Lucy why are you all the way out here? Master asked us to come and get you from you home but you weren't there so Natsu followed your scent all the way here. We thought that you were lost."
Lucy wondered if they had smelt Sting and Rogue as well. She hoped they didn't, even though she didn't like the two dragon slayers, they were just passing through and didn't deserve to be beaten up by Natsu.
"I am sorry guys. I just needed some time to myself. Now shall we go home?"
Natsu looked like he was about to nod but then a light lit behind his eyes and he shook his head.
"No, Master wanted you to go to the guild instead of going home."
Lucy thought that it was weird but nodded. She waved the two goodbye and headed to the guild. By then it was dark and they streets were eerily quiet. Quickening her pace, Lucy made it to the guild in record time to see that the only light on was Master's office. She climbed the stairs and lightly knocked on his door. She was waiting for an answer but instead Makarov himself opened the door and looked at her with relief.
"Lucy, thank Mavis you are okay. When you were gone for so long, I was afraid you had gone."
They sat down and Lucy looked down at her hands trying to think of what to say.
"Lucy, I know that this is all very weird and strange for you and I know that this is a lot to take in but i need you to listen to me now. You cannot run away from this but challenge it head on and win. If you let it win then you will die."
"D-die?"
"Yes, on your birthday you broke the seal that was placed on you too early. Your body hasn't had time to cope and your magic going out of control. You need to go, train and make your body stronger. I have already sorted everything out ready for this day."
Lucy nodded slowly as she liked the thought of training. She had always wanted to get stronger and with this new magic and the training she knew that she would get much stronger. No matter what the rest said, it had always bothered Lucy that she was always getting saved and this was the time to prove them, and herself that she was strong like the rest of them.
"I will leave and train straight away then. I will go alone and…"
Makarov interrupted her with a shake of his head and sighed.
"In anticipation for this day I have organized for two mages to go and train with you. These two mages are the strongest there is and so they will train you well."
"Who are they Master?"
Makarov shook his head again but on the inside he was smirking. This was going to be interesting.
"I won't tell you who they are but you will meet them on the train in the morning. Here is your ticket and your seat number. They will be in the same compartment as you. Don't worry about everything, I have already told them about what you need to do and where the three of you are going."
Lucy frowned a little as she was curious as to who these two mysterious people were and wondered why Makarov wouldn't tell her but she shrugged and raised an eyebrow.
"Tell me about what I will be doing there."
"You will train with the two and in the same two months that you are gone, you will complete two jobs. At the end of the two months you will complete one more job and if you are successful then you will become S-class. The two people knew everything else that you need to know. For now, go home and get some rest."
Lucy nodded and stood up. She will be gone for two months!
"Master, since I will be gone for two months I need to let everyone know what happened to me and I think that I should quit team Natsu. They need to move on from me for a while. Do you have some paper."
Makarov just nodded and showed Lucy the paper. They sat in silence for a while while Lucy wrote out the letters and when they were done, she once again stood up and pulled Makarov into a tight hug.
"Thank you for all of this Master. I will see you in two months exactly and when I return you will be proud of how strong I will have become."
And she ran out. Makarov shook his head and looked after sadly.
"I am already so proud of you, my precious child."
