the team was just getting to work and was sitting at their various desks talking quietly amongst themselves. Penelope smiled and sighed and filled up her mug and stirred in her sugar and cream . Derek had just gotten to work and smiled walking over to get his coffee."good morning Princess" he smiled smiled and turned around to face him "i'll show you a good morning hot stuff" she quipped back shivering softly and smiled .Derek looked at her with immense concern."baby girl what happened to you? your soaked" he quickly shed his thick fleece coat draping it over her leading her to a nearby chair."nothing sugar drop. " she smiled shivering as she snuggled into his coat inhaling the sweet musky smell of him. Derek sighed and watched her "Penelope i know when your lying to me talk to me woman." she sighed and hung her head softly " OK Kevin and I , we ended it this morning i was so upset i left my keys and i walked here." she confessed refusing to look up not wanting to have him feeling sorry for her. Derek watched her and sighed furious with Kevin. "oh baby girl im so sorry " he soothed and wrapped her in a tight hug . he always felt very protective of her and wanted her safe and happy regardless if she was seeing someone or not. penelope sighed and hugged him back tightly and rested her head on his chest and closed her eyes softly . what she would't give to have this all the time to be his girl for real but she knew the chances of that were slim to none. After a few minutes she slowly let go of the hug and sighed and smiled softly at her best friend "thanks handsome I really needed that: she smiled and kissed his cheek softly in thanks.
