Chapter 2: The Emperor of Kamino
Year 978 of the Ruusan Reformation
"There it is R-4, right where it should be." Obi-Wan said as he eyed the planet Kamino before him. "Our missing planet."
Obi-Wan unlock the docking to his hyperspace ring and moved his Delta-7 towards the planet. The rain pounded down upon that nearly caused Obi-Wan to miss two ships moving towards him.
"Unidentified ship, please state your business and purpose." A voice stated on the com, Obi-Wan took a moment to realize there were two starships he has never seen before moving towards him. Fighter classes if he had to guess.
"This is Obi-Wan Kenobi of the Jedi Order of the Galactic Republic requesting permission to land on your planet."
"A Jedi? We see very few Jedi's outside of our order. You will follow us to platform ten of Tipoca City. The Prime Minister and his excellency will wish to see you." The voice replied as the star fighters moved in front of him. Obi-Wan landed safely before getting out.
It was then he felt something unusual about the four man guard that was walking towards him.
"Welcome to Kamino Master Jedi. I'm CC-2224, they call me Cody. I'm a Marshall Commander of the Galactic Empire."
"Hello, I'm Obi-Wan Kenobi, a Jedi Master of the Galactic Republic."
"Sorry about the mess, you arrived under the wet season of Kamino. Please, come this way."
"Of course." Obi-Wan replies in his polite tone of voice. Inside he was getting worried if there was an army that the Jedi could no sense.
Obi-Wan didn't say anything as he was escorted through the halls. He ran into more soldiers who saluted Commander Cody as he walked by.
"You said you were apart of the Galactic Empire?"
"Oh yes, a soldier under his greatness. The Emperor is a great man, wise and powerful. Strong and fearless. With leadership that rivals even the greatest Jedi Masters. First, we will speak to the Prime Minister, who is most anxious to meet you."
Obi-Wan said nothing more as he was trying to wrap his head around this piece of information.
"How large is your empire?"
"Its fair size, about a few dozen star systems. However, we are here to protect our Emperor and the Empire he has built. He predicts your Republic will have no choice but to join his Empire unless they wish to be destroyed."
"I'm sorry?"
"Perhaps he should explain. He's a master of the Force like you Jedi. Though he doesn't call himself a Jedi.
"Taun We, may we present Master Obi-Wan Kenobi of the Galactic Republic."
"You came, just as the Emperor predicted."
"Yes. I can't help but be curious at what you have done here." Obi-Wan said.
"The Prime Minister will answer all the questions you seek. Then the Emperor will wish to speak with you."
"Thank you."
They walked before the doors opened. Inside was a armed guard of men wearing armor similar to a Senate Commando but had robes on as well. Inside was another Kamino.
"May I present the Prime Minister of Kamino, Lama Su. And this is Master Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi." Both men bowed to each other.
"We don't see many Jedi's from the Galactic Republic. The last Jedi to come here was Master Sifo-Dyas. I trust you'll enjoy your stay."
"Yes, who is this Emperor?"
"A powerful force user who appeared here almost two decades ago. He has since build a great relationship with us and took control of the Imperial Grand Army."
"Grand Army?"
"Oh yes, a clone army mine you. Though we do get volunteers from time to time our primary source of defense relays on our clones under the Emperor's command. We have more than five billion soldiers ready with a hundred trillion more on the way. The Emperor has also bought many star fleet yards and has hired some of the best pilots, mercenaries, soldiers, and smugglers in the galaxy to train this army. From Mandalorian Warriors, to the Echani Assassins. The Emperor has no desire for power, but he has all the power he could ever want."
"That's a large army." Obi-Wan replied a bit worried.
"Come, the Emperor has already given you permission to view his military."
They walked through the cloning chamber and Obi-Wan looked around slightly impress that so many clones could be grown so quickly.
"Very impressive." Obi-Wan says as he looks around and eyes several of the clone training.
"I hope you be impress. They take a week to reach full growth, a 1.83 Meters to be exact. Then they got through six months of tough training. Depending on how well they do, they go through an additional training for two years. Clones can think creatively. You will find they are immensely superior to droids. We take great pride in our combat education and training programs. The Emperor himself develops them. This partciallur group was created almost five years ago. They are one of our fresh recruits."
"You mention growth acceleration."
"Oh yes, we grow them in a weeks' time otherwise it would take forever to build an army. While they are obedient, they can think for themselves. Capable of taking orders and learning how to adapt to those orders. They won't follow just anyone. They are loyal to the Emperor because he is loyal to them. Show them loyalty and courage, they will follow you to the death. We didn't modify their genetic structure to make them have their own independence as the original host."
"Who was the original host?"
"A Mandalorian named Jango Fett. A close friend and advisor to the Emperor."
"Where is this Mandalorian now?"
"He should be helping train the clone Jedi we have."
"Clone Jedi?"
"From two of your orders finest. Meetra Surik and Darth Revan."
"How did you get their bodies?"
"Only the Emperor knows. How he did it, I have no clue. However you'll be please to know that the clones we make of those two Jedi are elite defenders sworn to protector our Emperor and his cause."
"I would like to meet them."
"They are in a training session with some ARC troopers." Lama Su replies.
"I would be very happy to arrange it for you." Taun We said happily.
Obi-Wan walks towards the balcony and sees an entire army landing on some large assault ships as they were preparing to be deployed.
"Magnificent aren't they?" The Prime Minister says.
Some time later, Obi-Wan walked in the training room where a heavy armed mandalorian and a mask black hooded figure were dueling. The duel was uneven, if it wasn't for about a dozen clones in heavy armor backing up the Mandalorian.
"Your excellency." Lama Su said bowing as did Obi-Wan and Taun We. "May we present Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi."
The green lightsaber shut off and the hooded figure turns to look at Obi-Wan. Nothing could be seen behind that mask, but Obi-Wan couldn't help but feel he was being scan by an unseen force.
"Welcome Master Jedi." The Mandalorian said pulling off his helmet. Unlike the clones Obi-Wan saw earlier this man was in his mid-forties and had battle scars on his face.
"Jango, how was your trip?"
"It was good. Got some new intel for our Intelligence Division." Jango replies.
"This is our genetic source for the clone army, Jango Fett. Who over sees all training for his clones." Taun We says as she moves her hand to greet Jango.
"And this is the man who will answer the question you have come for. Emperor Revan."
"How do you like my army?" Revan said in a calm voice as he moves away and drinks some water.
"It's very impressive, you must be proud."
"A simple man does not seek greatness but rather let's greatness seeks him." Revan replies wisely.
"You sound like Master Yoda."
"Perhaps. Now, as for the reason you are here. It's not to see my army, but rather something else. Something has happen that has caused you to come here."
"Indeed. I'm tracking a would be assassin and my only clue has lead me here."
"What clue is that master Kenobi?"
"This." Obi-Wan replies as he holds up the dart.
"A Kamino dart, used by our special commando's to attack organic beings." Revan replies as he look at it.
"A week ago, an assassin nearly succeeds in killing a Republic Senator. Just as we caught the culprit, another mask assailant killed our assassin. Not before I got a holorecording of the killer."
A figure appears on the holocron showing someone with Mandalorian Armor with a jet pack on.
"Death Watch." Revan says in disgust.
"We've had skirmishes with them in the past. They must have stolen this off of us after we used it." Jango Fett said as he hands the dart back to Kenobi.
"And where can I find Death Watch?"
"You don't find them unless they find you." Jango said.
"They are currently under the employment of a Darth Tyranus. You might know him as Count Dooku. If you wish to find your answer, then go to the planet Geonosis. There you will get the answer you will seek." Revan says.
"I have one final question. I was told that you are seeking to bring the Republic into your Empire. How do you plan to do that?"
"Imperial Intelligence has discovered the Seperatist is building an army of droids. They plan to attacak the Repblic and take over the galaxy. The only thing that is really stopping them is my army. If the Republic wishes to survive they will need to join me. Either that, or I can just take the Republic without firing a single shot. Either way, I will have the Republic in my pocket. I have foreseen it." Revan says as he turns around without saying a word. However Obi-Wan knew he was dismiss, Obi-Wan bows and leaves.
"R-4, scramble code five too Coruscant, care of the old folks' home!" Obi-Wan said. R-4 then made a holographic image of some Jedi Council Members and members of the Senate as well as Chancellor Palpatine.
"I have successfully made contact with the Prime Minister of Kamino and the Emperor of the Galactic Empire." Obi-Wan says.
"Emperor did you say?" Yoda says.
"Impossible. There hasn't been any Emperor's for nearly a millennium." Ki-Adi Mundi replies.
"It gets worse I'm afraid. They are using a Mandalorian mercenary called Jango Fett to build a massive clone army. The largest army I have ever seen. They are ten billion strong and have about a hundred trillion more on the way. These clones grow fast too am afraid to say. It only takes a week for them to reach adult hood."
"Do they have something to do with the plot to assassinate Senator Amidala?" Mace Windu asks.
"No Master, there appears to be no motive. In fact they pointed me in a direction I feel is the right path to take. They are pointing me to the planet Geonosis in the Outer Rim Territories. The assassin appears to be a member of the disgrace Mandalorian splinter group that calls itself Death Watch. They are also under the employment of a Darth Tyranus."
"A Sith Lord?"
"Yes Master, they claim the Sith Lord's real name is Count Dooku."
"Impossible. It's not in Dooku's character." Ki-Adi Mundi said.
"What should I do Master?"
"To Geonosis you must go, report when you find them you shall." Yoda answers.
"Yes Master, I will report back when I have found the truth."
"Anakin, my long range transmitter has been knocked out. Retransmit this message to Coruscant." Anakin looks shock but did as he was told. Inside the office of Chancelor Palpatine, a small group of Senator's and Jedi were gathered around to watch Obi-Wan's message.
"I have successfully infiltrated the droid factory of Geonosis. I have discovered that Nutt Gunray has order Death Watch to assassinate Senator Amidala. The Trade Federation is to take delivery of a droid army here. The Commerce Guilds and the Corporate Alliance have all pledge their support behind Count Dooku and are forming… wait." Obi-Wan say before he disappears from the holorecording and a Droideka appears.
"More happening on Geonosis, I feel, than has been revealed." Yoda replies as the transmission ended.
"I agree." Mace Windu says before turning to Anakin. "Anakin, we will deal with Count Dooku. The most important thing for you is to protect the Senator at all cost. That is your first priority."
"Understood Master." Anakin replies in a hollow tone of voice.
"The Seperatist are preparing for war, there is no doubt about that." Senator Bail Organa says as he begins to pace in the room.
"We need that Clone Army." Another Senator replies.
"The Emperor won't just jump to our aid. Besides, you heard Master Kenobi, he foretold the Republic will be his." Bail Organa replies.
"I will not hand over the Republic to an Emperor." Palpatine stated.
"Unfortunately, we may not have much of a choice in the matter." Bail Organa replies sadly.
Geonosis Arena
"This is not how it was supposed to be, Vizsla, finish her off." Nute Gunray said to the Death Watch members standing behind them.
"Patience Viceroy, patience. She will die." Dooku assured Nute Gunray.
Droideka's rolled in and surrounded Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Padmé Amidala.
Before Dooku could give the order for them to be executed, a purple lightsaber erupted near Vizsla neck. Causing everyone to freeze and look at the man holding it.
"Master Windu, how pleasant of you to join us." Dooku replies calmly. The threat of being attack by his former friend didn't even seem to faze him.
"This party is over." Windu replies as hundreds of lightsabers, blue and green, erupted around the arena forming a tight circle around everyone. The Geonosians fled in fear. Before Dooku could say a word, three Jedi's destroyed the Droideka's and handed two lightsabers to Obi-Wan and Anakin.
"Brave, but very foolish my old Jedi friend. You're impossible out numbered."
"I highly doubt that." Windu replies.
"We'll see."
Windu heard clanking behind him and saw a new model of droids marching towards him. Ducking down, he avoids the crimson lightsaber from Dooku before leaping in the air.
Battle droids began marching in the arena as the Jedi formed a tight line of defense they began to fight. Despite being out numbered, and battle droids kept rolling in, the Jedi's eventually went from offensive to defense. Finally the attack stop allowing the Jedi's to form a tight circle.
"Master Windu you have fought gallantly. Worthy of recognition in the Archives of the Jedi Order. Now it is finish, surrender, and you're lives will be spared." Dooku says to the remaining members of the Jedi Order.
"We will not be hostages to be bartered Dooku!" Windu declared seeing through the Sith Lord's scheme.
"Then, I am sorry my old friend." Dooku replies as the droids prepared to attack again.
Before a shot could be fired Padmé called out "look" upward towards the sky.
Blue and green blaster fire came pouring down from the gunships unto the unexpected droids.
"Create a perimeter around the survivors." Revan called out.
"Yes my lord."
The Gunships all landed around the Jedi as Clone Troopers and Jedi came out to cover the Republic Jedi order. It soon became a slaughter for the droids who had no cover and were being attack from the ground and the air.
On board the gunships, the Jedi were amazed to see hundreds of landing ships nearly 800 meters long land on the planet surface and a large army firing blue blaster fire at the droid army.
"Aim right above the fuel cells." Anakin replies as the co-pilot fires his missiles.
"Good call my young padawan." Obi-Wan replies please to see the supply ship was destroyed so easily.
"Pilot, land in that assembling area." Windu called out.
"Yes sir."
Mace Windu, Kit Fisto and Ki-Adi Mundi all got off leaving Yoda on the gunship.
"Sir, I got five special commando units awaiting your orders sir." A clone commander said. Windu nods his head before leading his selected unit into battle. The others soon lead their own units into battle where battle droids were starting to get activated and sent to frontlines.
"To the forward command center, take me." Yoda replies as the Gunship takes off.
AT-TE Walkers, at least a hundred of them all open fired on the advancing droid army causing the droids to halt their advance.
Separatist Command Center
"The Jedi have amassed a huge army." The Viceroy says as he looks at the Holomap of the battle.
"That doesn't seem possible. How could the Jedi come up with an army so quickly?" Dooku wonders. He knew the Republic Justice Department only had a handful of officers and barely a hundred ships. So how was it that an army with more than a thousand warships appear out of nowhere.
"We must send all available droids into battle at once." Nute Gunray said with a worried tone.
"There are too many, I have to order a retreat. We have to make to Serenno."
"Our communications are being jammed." Poggle the Lesser replies.
"They've come well prepared. My master will not allow the Republic to get away with this treachery."
"Does Darth Sidious even know where this army has come from?" Nute Gunray asks in a worried tone.
"They look to be mandalorian. But Mandalore doesn't have such numbers nor do they posse such military power."
"We must get the starships into orbit immediately." Gunray's aid advised as the battle seem to go against them.
Imperial Army Forward Command Center
"Master Yoda, all forward positions are advancing." CRC-09/571 better known as Seventy One said.
"Very good, very good." Master Yoda replies as he walks on the forward command center. A loud noise caught their attention as the core ships began to rise.
"Concentrate all your fire on the nearest starship." Yoda orders.
"Yes sir." Seventy One replies as he turns to the clone on the communications. "Have all SPHA open fire at sector five one five."
The SPHA (Self-Propelled Heavy Artillery) brought down five star ship cores.
"Notify the fleet above us and have them engage at once." Seventy One orders as the captain carry's out his orders.
Eventually, with ground and air superiority, the droid army and it's followers had only one choice.
"Master Yoda, the droid army is in full retreat." Seventy One Replies.
"Very good commander, bring me a ship." Yoda replies.
Revan was fighting alongside Jango Fett when his wrist holocommunicator started ringing.
"Lord Revan, we have located Dooku. Master Yoda is heading to engage him. What are your orders?"
"Send Havoc Squad to back him up. I'm going there myself."
"Yes sir."
Galactic Senate
"It's-a clear desa separatist made a pact wesa desa Federation du Trade. Senators, dellow felagates. In a response to this direct threat to the Republic, mesa proposes that the Senate we make a pact ourselves. With the Planet Kamino and it's-a allies the Galactic Empire so we have their Grand Army to be part of the Republic." Jar Jar Binks said to the Senate.
Cheers erupted as the senators all agreed to the proposal.
"Order, we shall have order."
"I love democracy. I love the Republic. It's because of this I have agreed to send ambassadors to secure a treaty with Kamino and the Galactic Empire to join the Republic. I will see to it personally, that this Seperatist threat, will not threaten the Republic anymore." Palpatine said as the Senator began chant Palpatine's name.
