Today was the day. The day Kakashi was assigned his new team. Team 7. Vicky was sure he was excited… although most wouldn't be able to tell seeing as which, half his face was covered by his mask and the other was covered by his "pervy books" as Vicky liked to call them. "So, what are your plans for after practice today?"
"What are yours Vic?"
"You know, it's like talking to a wall… I have no plans Kakashi, hence why I was asking you. And no, sitting at home reading your pervy books do NOT count as plans."
Kakashi put his book down and look a long look at Vicky. "My plan's consist of making dinner for you silly. What makes you think I would possibly sit and read my very EDUCATIONAL books, when today is your first day back in 2 weeks?"
"Educational?? If they are so educational, why is it that you are still single? I mean, from the looks of those books, they should be able to 'teach' you plenty. So why is it that you spent your days in the sack with you best friend, watching movies without any hint of sex in your near future?? Tell me Kakashi??"
"Harsh… I'm hurt. So hurt!"
"And I can clearly see that! You know… with that mask and all. Hey! Didn't we establish the rule of when it's just the two of us, no mask?" And with that she hopped onto the opposite couch in which Kakashi was seated and began an assault that she hoped would end up with him not wearing his mask. She lunged, he dodged… and as usual, they ended up in a compromising position. Her straddling him. Of course. It always happened. Did anything ever go further than that? No. It never did.
After that day many years ago, that day he chased her out of his house, they never mentioned what happened. It was like it never happened. The closest they'd ever get to a kiss was Kakashi always kissing her forehead before they would part ways. She guessed that was as good as it was ever going to get.
Kakashi and Vicky continued to wrestle around until Vicky caught the time. "Kakashi, you were supposed to meet your new students an hour ago! Get going"
Obviously Kakashi was having too much fun wrestling around "Ive still got time, stop worrying all the time!"
"Kakashi, go, NOW!"
"Fine, fine, Ill go. Ill see you for dinner." And he gave her her kiss on her forehead and he was gone. Vicky now sat and wondered what she could do. Then it came to her, Kurenai had her meeting with her student first thing this morning, she was at home by now. Ladies lunch?? Sounded great!
Twenty minutes later, Kurenai and Vicky were sitting at the coffee shop at the edge of the village. "So, when did you get back into town?"
"Ohh god, early this morning. I went home, showered, went for a nap and then went to see Kakashi…"
"And how is your boyfriend?" Kurenai asked as she was putting down her glass.
"This again?? He IS NOT my boyfriend! Kakashi is a friend. Nothing more." Vicky was beet red at this point.
"So he's your friend in which you sleep in the same bed with; Kiss; Cuddle….."
"We do NOT cuddle! Yes we kiss… just not like you and Asuma…"
The liquid contents of Kurenai ended up all over the table on front of her "Wh..what? No. Asuma is a coworker. We, we aren't 'together'. Pfh, what gave you that idea?" She started cleaning off the mess on the table.
"Oh… so last month when I went to drop off some scrolls at your house and Asuma walked out of your bathroom with nothing but a towel on, he was only there cause his shower broke right??"
"Yes…"
"And the hickey you had? Your vacuum cleaner malfunctioned?"
"Yes??" Kurenai took on a shade of red.
"I'll drop you and Asuma and you drop Kakashi and I. And only one of those pairing are having sex and I can tell you it isn't Kakashi and I. Whatever makes you happy Kurenai. Just, one of these days, you're going to have to give me details… I mean that's why you have friends right?"
Kurenai finally finished mopping up the mess she had created minutes earlier. "I'll drop it. And at least Asuma and I realized we were attracted to each other unlike Kakashi and you. There was a reason he kissed you years back…"
"I thought I asked you to never bring that up again?"
"Well, I did. Deal with it. There's a reason he did it. And there's a reason you kissed back. One of these days, one of you is going to get into serious relationship with someone else and then we'll see what really happens. No more 'sleepovers'. None of that. Oh well, if you two are only friends, then it should be okay right?"
"Right…"
"Wow… you sounded pretty sure of yourself haha"
"Kurenai… shut up!" And with that, they both broke out in a fit of giggles.
"Vicky… girl to girl. Say it. How do you feel about him? For once, just say it."
"I already told you! He's my friend! I mean, yes, the kiss was great. But I told you what he said. He'll never think of me that way."
"And have you ever thought of why he said that?"
For once, Vicky was stumped. She had no idea. "No."
"Well… we've talked about this before. He's afraid of getting close to people. Everyone close to him ends up getting killed. His dad. His mom. His sensei. Obito. He feels if he got close you to, something would happen to you. Although, I still don't see how him sleeping in your bed every night constitutes as NOT getting close to someone buuut whatever floats his boat I guess."
"You're evil. Just evil. I already told you. The bed thing… it's not like THAT. We just… fall asleep. You know… it IS possible for a man and a woman to be in the same bad without sex. It's not my fault your head is polluted with dirty thoughts. I'm gonna have to have a talk with Asuma about you." And yet another fit of giggles erupted. Vicky continued, "Anyways, I have to get going. I promised your dear Asuma's father I'd go see him after my lunch with you. So, take care of yourself and please do try to alleviate some of your perverted thoughts."
Vicky knocked on the thirds door and was right away met with a "Come In"
The hokage was seated at his desk behind a pile of paperwork. "hello dear. Sorry to have to do this so soon after you came back, I have another mission for you. You leave first thing in the morning so be sure to tie up any odds and ends you have before you leave." He handed Vicky a file folder, which of course contained the details of the mission.
"By the looks of the file… this is a long one." She wasn't sure if it was a statement or a question.
"Yes, a few months perhaps… perhaps a year. Depends how quick you are"
"Thank you sir."
20 minutes later she was back at her house. She was lying down on her bed, facedown into the pillows. She never heard Kakashi come in. She first realized his presence when she felt the other side of the bed lean down as if someone had just climbed on. Kakashi began stroking her hair when he noticed the file folder on the nightstand next to her.
"I take it you'll be going again soon?"
"Mmm hmm" was heard somewhere though Vicky's pillows.
"Well, I guess I'm gonna have to make dinner even better tonight then. I'll go start. Take a nap. I'll wake you when it's ready." He kissed her on the back of her head and walked out of her bedroom.
An hour later, Kakashi was quite pleased with the outcome of the dinner. He liked cooking, and he was very good at it. He wasn't too happy though with the fact that Vicky was leaving again in the morning. But that was the job of a ninja. He figured it was time to go wake her. He made his way over to her room and sat down on one side of the bed. He tried to think of the best way to wake her. Then it came to him.
Vicky screamed. Not only did she scream, she kicked Kakashi in the face. "WHAT THE HELL!!"
Kakashi then realized… grabbing her feet and digging his thumbs into the bottom of them was a lot funnier in his head. A LOT.
"BASTARD! I SHOULD KILL YOU!"
"Hey but at least you're up. Now you can eat!"
The next morning, Vicky was up around 5AM, Kakashi (who of course was still there since they both fell asleep on the couch while they were watching a movie) soon got up too, just to wish Vicky good luck on her mission.
"I forgot to ask who you had placed on your team yesterday Kakashi"
"I got Sakura Haruno. Sasuke Uchiha and Naruto Uzumaki."
"Uchiha and Uzumaki. Wow… imagine getting both of them. How is Minato-Senei's son?"
"A pain in everyone ass."
They both laughed. "Anyways, I gotta get going. Behave while I'm gone Kakashi!" she reached up for a hug, which was hard seeing as which Kakashi was a lot taller than her. So, he just picked her up for the hug instead. "See ya!" She gave him a kiss on the cheek and was then on her way.
