Rainbowstar: Before I start this chapter of Dark Clouds, I'd like to apologize to my fans for such a long update. I know I usually update faster than this... So, sorry. Anyway, I've decided for a new feature! I'll make chapter previews! -crowd cheers-

Kichi: Ki!!

Darkkit: Like hell, you should be sorry. I've been getting' fat, during the episode's break. Where were you, anyway?

Rainbowstar: -shifty eyes-

Eh heh... Back to the chapter! And by the way, Darkkit, this is NOT a tv show, for the last freakin' time!! And jeez, swearing when you're SUCH A LITTLE KIT!

Chapter 2

"Are you okay? Wake up!"

Darkkit gasped awake. A white she-cat stood over her, worried.

"Who-who are you? How am I alive?" She asked, looking around.

"Huh? I found you, yelping in a field, asleep." She mewed.

"Where am I"

"In my barn."

It was all a dream. "I'm Darkkit."

"My name's Skyfeather." She sniffed curiously. "You smell of... BirdClan!"

Darkkit wondered why she had sounded so shocked. "Yeah..."

"I-I'm sorry. You're so young to be out of camp!"

Darkkit grunted and cried. She looked to the side. She didn't want to let Skyfeather see her.

The white she-cat just looked away, feeling bad at the young kits' emotions. "Whose kit are you, anyway?"

"Flametail." She spat. She didn't know what difference it would make.

Skyfeather gasped. "Flametail?"

Darkkit nodded slowly.

"What happened?"

"She-she told me I killed my sister, and I'm a monster, and she hates me." Darkkit pouted. She never wanted to see Flametail again.

"Ohh... That's too bad. I'm sure none of that's true. Flametail was always a sour puss, from what I can remember."

"You knew her?"

Skyfeather blinked. Her eyes grew wide with sadness. "She's my sister. She was always nice when she was an apprentice. But, when we both became warriors, everything had changed.

She was always sneaking out, and was never in camp when I was. One day, I got curious, and I followed her. She was seeing a tom in MouseClan, which is against the warrior code.

Flametail saw me and became furious. She lied to our leader that I was the one seeing another tom in an enemy Clan. I was soon exiled. When I left, Flametail shot me a look of pure hatred that I can never forget..." Skyfeather recalled with pure grief.

Darkkit was shocked. She tried to get up, and instantly pan rose in her leg. She fell down with a grunt.

Skyfeather gasped. "You broke your leg? Here, I'll go fetch some poppy seeds." She went to the back of the barn, which was turned dark orange in the evening light.

A gray head popped into the barn entrance. It was Smokecloud. "Darkkit! Thank StarClan you're alive! I've-we've been so worried!" He exclaimed. He glanced at her leg and how it was oddly positioned. "Let me take you home."

"No! I don't wanna go back! I hate Mommy! I like it here, with--"

"Smokecloud?" Skyfeather gasped through a bundle of leaves.

"Oh my, Skyfeather? You live here?" Smokecloud exclaimed.

"What's all this about living here?" Skyfeather meowed, setting the bundle of leaves down.

"Darkkit wants to live here, with you."

"Oh, Darkkit... Listen, I don't think you'd be happy here. The life of a rogue is harsh. Anyway, I don't know anything about how to heal that leg. You's be better in your Clan." She meowed, smiling sadly.

"I think she's right." Smokecloud mewed, looking sternly at Darkkit, whose hopeful face was turned glum.

"Fine. But, I'd still like to visit her every once in a while!" She squeaked. "She's so cool!"

Smokecloud laughed, then glanced back at Skyfeather. "It's nice to see you again." Skyfeather blinked gratefully.

The tom picked up Darkkit by her scruff. She started to protest.

"I can walk myself! Plus, aren't I heavy?" She complained. "You're practically dragging me!"

"Too bad. You're leg'sh broken. You can walk back by youshelf." He growled through a mouthful of fur.

Once they were at camp, Smokecloud brought her to the medicine cat's den. Poppyflower greeted her with a relieved smile. "Thank StarClan you're safe. I'm sure your leg needs treating. Let me go get some herbs." She ran to the back of her den.

Suddenly, her siblings burst through the lichen entrance, purring and licking her. Her mother followed them grimly.

"Darkkit, I want to talk to you later." Flametail growled. She spotted Poppyflower coming back with a mouthful of leaves, and she brightened. "It's good you're safe." She left, sweeping her kits out. She shot Darkkit a spiteful look.
