The Immortal Battle
I stretched out on Chiron's office chair. I could hear Sara crying and Chiron keeping his tone medium, talking to Sara sternly. I was very proud of myself. I restrained myself from hurling open the door when Sara started to say that I was ruining her life, and that she only wanted to redeem herself to Athena, to prove herself worthy of being the daughter of the greatest bla, bla, blaaah... my ADHD started to kick in.
I was brought back into reality when Sara ran out, her cheeks all red from her bawling. She glared at me and ran out sobbing.
Chiron came out.
"That matter is solved. Don't speak of it anymore, it is done. You and I defeated the monster, and besides that, the whole afternoon never happened," he said
"Yeah, let's pretend I got to merrily play capture-the-flag this morning. It was quite wonderful really. Did you know that the flags were red and blue? And we hid-" I muttered.
"Enough. I understand you are upset about this morning but we'll play the game again when you come back,"
"Come back from where?" I asked.
"Good night, Julia," he said and went to his room.
Chiron was like my dad. Being a demi-god, Mom was at home while I was at camp, and Dad, Hermes, well I barely saw him at all. Chiron was always there for me, even though everyone at camp thought of him as their 2nd Dad, not just me.
Walking back to my cabin, the Hermes' cabin, I saw Annabeth and Lily. Annabeth ran up to me and hugged me. Lily asked,
"Where were you all day? We were worried!"
"Well, I think you guys are going on a quest with me, but I'm not sure," I said.
They frowned, and Annabeth asked,
"Did Chiron tell you that you are going?"
I nodded, and told them about the day's merriments with Sara.
Annabeth said," If you want I'll put whipped cream on Sara's face at our cabin,"
We laughed. But we all knew Annabeth wouldn't do that to her half-sister. We all went into our own cabins: me into the Hermes', Annabeth into Athena's, and Lily into Aphrodite's. It was really funny that Lily was Aphrodite's daughter, because the only thing that really linked my best friend to Aphrodite was caring about looks and makeup. She was actually strong and sporty, as long as the sport's uniform was pretty. :
That night, my cabin played go- fish as our night game. Amy and I were the only ones left, but John called us to bed. John is the camp leader, and I think he is a very good leader, and so I hate it when my half-brothers and sisters blame him for the whole Hermes cabin. Like when the boys fight, some of the girls say 'Nice job controlling them' as if they could do any better. Sometimes I step in and helped John, because he's my half-brother, and I help family, even if it is half-family.
