Hi, sorry for the long wait life happens enjoy
Bethy
Love was always fascinating to Marceline. As she grew, the fairy-tale her mother told her turned into a story of how her parents met. Angie Diaz, the demoness, and Rafael Diaz, the human, fell in love. Part of what made their love so interesting was the magic world that her mother came from, a place of oddities and other worldly things she could never think of on her own. Her mother never took her to that place, but Marceline knew one day something would happen that would drag her to the magical world.
And she was right. Though it didn't happen the way it did in her fantasies.
The brunette was in her room, doing homework. It was as she was taking a stretch break that her bedroom mirror. Marceline's eyes widened in shock, and for the next few seconds, all she could do was stare at it, unable to come up with a valid response to the magical thing that was happening in front of her. Eventually, the brunette decided to…touch the glowing mystical thing. When she finally did that, she was surprised to see her grandmother in the bedroom mirror.
"Marceline?"
"Yeah, that's me…" Marceline replied uncertainly.
"It's me, your grandma!"
"G-Grandma?!" Marceline's mouth hung open in a mixture of confusion and happiness. 'This is my magical grandma?!"
"Anyway, I just wanted to let you know a friend of mine is sending her daughter to the school in your town and I need you to keep an eye on her."
"Huh?"
"She's a bit clumsy, but she has great magical potential. I'm sure you two will be fine and become great friends!"
"Wha-?!"
"Thank you, sweetie! Bye!"
"Wait!"
But she was already gone. The mirror returned to its original state and Marceline could only see herself in the reflection. The brunette's shoulders sagged. She wanted to talk to her relative, to learn more, but the message was so rushed that there was just no chance to open a conversation. It was so fast that Marceline couldn't help but think that her family was purposely giving her as little about the world of magic as possible. It was disheartening to say the least. 'Just what are they hiding from me? Maybe this new girl will tell me something.'
Marceline was suddenly filled with anxiety, her shyness making it difficult imagining having a normal conversation with someone new. She started pacing nervously as the fear of doing or saying something stupid filled her mind.
She was not going to sleep well tonight.
Marceline was in Spanish, not really paying attention to it. She was too distracted by the message from last night to focus on anything else. The brunette was so enthralled in her own bubble that when a voice called her name, she flinched and immediately stood out of her seat, back very straight. The voice of the principal filled the room, wanting Marceline to come to his office. 'This is it…'
Everyone stared at her as she left the classroom. The brunette blushed in response and speed-walked faster, even more once she reached the hallway. She may have gone too fast because once she reached the office door, Marceline still hadn't managed to calm herself. The brunette blinked, perplexed by how she got here so fast. Her heart was still beating really fast, still scared and nervous. But social obligation wouldn't let her run away and disobey a superior, so she took a deep breath and knocked before opening the door.
"You wanted to see me, sir?" Marceline stammered, eyes looking terrified, internally screaming.
"Yes," the principal replied and gestured to someone else in the room, "We have a new exchange student, Star Butterfly. You are in charge of her."
"Yes, sir." Marceline looked at the new girl. She was a cute blonde with blue eyes, her appearance the opposite to the brunette. Star was biting a magic wand. "Um, I am Marceline Diaz. Welcome to Echo Creek, I guess."
"Hi, Marceline! I am from Mewni, another dimension that has magic!" Star started bouncing up and down. Marceline was shocked at how casually she said that, nervously looking at the indifferent principal.
"Um, well, let's begin shall we." Marceline rubbed the back of her neck and started to leave, Star following close behind her.
The two wondered the school, and it was not as easy a task as the brunette thought it would be. The blonde was incredibly energetic and always had fresh awe for everything that was shown to her, bouncing around and pointing at everything she had never seen before. Star wouldn't calm down no matter how hard Marceline tried. The brunette worried she was disturbing classes. All the more reason to appease her shyness, she supposed. Marceline started leading Star to the places that was more devoid of people.
All throughout the trip, however, there was something else on Marceline's mind. She wanted to ask Star…pretty much anything, especially the magic wand the blonde was waving around. But being shy was always her greatest weakness. She couldn't whip up the courage to say anything aside from stuttering out the answers to Star's questions. And, much like before, Marceline found that she had completed her task without realizing it.
"Well, I will see you around, Marceline." Star continued to bounce as she walked, leaving Marceline behind, the brunette waving goodbye. She was disappointed in herself, but she had a feeling the blonde would be waiting for her when she got home. She was a person from another dimension, so where else could she go than her place.
Later that day, walking to front door, the brunette met with more than just Star. She was met with laser puppies. Yikes, what did her parents say to the overexcited princess?
"Um, hi?" Marceline ran up to her room, very scared and nervous. She just new nothing would be the same again.
