I don't know what to do.

I don't have any weapons, no skills nor desire to kill

But even though the odds are against me

I have to survive.

The Dusty Old Crow

"RRAAAAAAAHHHH" It roared bringing its arm down.

I closed my eyes, awaiting my death, until

-BANG-

I cracked one eye open to see a bullet sized hole in the skull of the Wolf.

"You Okay there Kid?" A voice asked. He sounded drunk. As the Wolf started to vanish-What-he came forward, my vision was blurry so I couldn't see his face "Woah, you look like shit, the hell happened to you?" His voice was slurred. Yep he swayed in his steps and he's holding one of those flask thingies.

Its confirmed, I got saved by a drunkard, but at least it's better than dying. I'm g-gettting dizzy, l-lost too much blood, can't. Stay. Conscious. "Hey kid, you doing alright? Kid?" His voice was getting farther while the ground got closer.

-THUD-

It's dark. Is this Deja Vu? Or a time loop? No, I don't wanna bleed again, nonononono I don't wanna blee-

Oh wait, my eyes are just closed. Opening my eyes I was greeted with the sight of-OH MY GOD MY EYES, BRIGHT LIGHT! AHHHHH.

Rubbing my eyes, I squinted, Okay, I'm on a bed on the edge of a room near a window, from which the sun was glaring at me.

"So you're finally awake" A voice stated from behind me.

"GAH! How long were you there?"

"Long enough" He finished with a grin, taking a swig from a bottle.

I looked at the man. He had black, spiky hair with crimson eyes. With a red tattered robe, he wore a gray dress shirt with a long tail with black dress pants and shoes. He had a necklace the shape of a Crucifix.

"Where am I?"

"You're in an Inn." You don't say.

"What I meant wa-"

"The real question here", he cut me off, "is 'What the hell was a five year old boy doing in the middle of the night, in a Grimm infested forest, with little or no protection?"

"Uhhh I-I," had no answers. I kinda wanna know that myself. How did I get here? Where am I? How did i survive that- Wait a minute, my wound is healed? How?

"I unlocked your Aura," he answered my unasked question, he must've seen me looking weirdly at my wound, "there was no way you could survive without it." He ccontinued.

Aura? That sounds familiar. This man also looks familiar, hell that Wolf looked familiar, he called it Grimm. Hmmmm, I feel like I know this stuff.

"-ame Kid?" Huh?

"You say something?"

"I asked if you got a name" He sounded irritated, I wonder why.

A name, okay, I can't mess this up now, do I give him my real name? Do I make one up?

"Well?"

Oh shit, I need more time to think, I need to buy more time!

"Ya know, where I come from, it's common courtesy to give your name first" I retorted.

The man stared, and stared, and stared, stared. I was starting to get nervous, fidgeting, looking anywhere but at his face. "Qrow Branwen," he said finally,"professional Huntsman". Again that sounded really familiar. "Now its your turn, Kid."

"Shiro, just Shiro," lets just go with that for now.

"Okay then Shiro, wanna tell what you were doing in that forest all alone?" "I don't know." and that's the truth. He looked at me for a while took a sip from his flask, then finally he asked, "Where are your parents? Where do you come from?" He bought my story? And what's with all the I tell the truth, I still don't think I can trust this guy yet, lifesaver or not. "I-I don't know" I tried to sound unsure. He seem to have bought it.

"Amnesia, yeah that tends to occur after severe trauma, and after what he experienced-" trailing off as he muttered to himself. Okay, now is better than never, "Um, Mister Qrow, where am I, what was the thing that was chasing me?"

He looked at me, took a gulp of the alcohol he was drinking and sighed before answering, "You're in Mistral Kid, one of the four Kingdoms of Remnant. The thing chasing you was a Grimm, a Beowolf to be exact, they feed on negativity."

"..." Mistral, Remnant, Beowolf, Grimm all these just cement the fact that I'm not on Earth anymore, so how did I get here, how do I go home? How do I get back to my family. Then it hit me.

My family, will I never see them again? My father, my mother, my siblings, my friends, all the memories we made. I wanna go home, my eyes are hot, am I crying? My cheeks are wet. I sobbed qietly, more tears rolling down my cheek. I had nothing in this world, nothing but myself and a drunk Huntsman to keep me company.

"Teach me how to fight Grimm."

I had finally calmed down - the drunk was actually better at handling crying children than I expected. - and I had made up my mind, if I'm stuck in this alien world I might as well learn how to fight the creatures inhabiting it. I might as well try to survive. He looked surprised

"I wanna learn how to protect myself, so can you?." I explained.

"I can't stay here long enough to teach you Kid." He said.

"Then take me with you, I swear I won't be a burden, I'll pull my own weight, I won't fall behind."

He stayed silent for a long time.

"Please, I have no one else to go to." I pleaded as I gave him my best doe eyed look.

He thought for a minute, took a long sip of his flask, sighed and then looked at me.

And so here I am, walking on a path towards Vale. Qrow's a teacher at Signal so he's gonna teach me the basics of Aura, Grimm and Fighting said Grimm until we reach Vale so it's up to me to either continue learning and enroll myself at Signal or be a street-rat. Yeah Signal sounds a lot better.

Qrow was walking in front of me, with a weird sword strapped at his waist he leaded the way. He told me that people or Huntsmen often use different types of weapon combined into a weapon unique for each person. Mine was nothing if the sort, since Qrow was in a hurry I grabbed the first weapon I saw in the store, which was a plain tanto with a black sheath. Fuck you Qrow. One other thing I noticed when I walked around the town was that I wasn't the only one with animal parts, yay. I later asked Qrow what I was, apparently we were called 'Faunus', and judging from the glares I got from other people, mainly Humans...only humans really. It seems Fauna(?) weren't very much liked in this town.

-THUD-

"OWWWW!", my thoughts were interrupted as a branch had fallen directly on my head, making me stumble and cry out in pain,"What the hell?" I said looking up to see nothing, there weren't even any trees above me at the time so how?

"Hurry up Kid, and stop screaming, you're gonna make my hangover worse if you keep screaming like a Banshee all the time."

I sighed, this was gonna be a long, long walk to Vale.
