The small one stood atop the rock formation and looked down at the white marble ring. In the middle of said ring was a dark-skinned figure clad in a grey martial arts uniform. The two looked at each other in silence, both somewhat alerted by the others presence. A few more moments passed until the kid propelled himself from the rocks and near Leon, hopping lightly as to not be overtaken by his downward momentum. The child wore a greyish-green cloak over himself with a hood that concealed his face.
Leon was at a loss for what his next action would be. He wasn't going to attack a kid, but he still wasn't sure what his motives were. He kept his guard up but loosely. This one is hiding his energy. Since when could kids do that? And to such a degree where he could get this close? How much is he holding in?He focused enough to find that there was substantial amount of energy inside of the kid. But enough silence. "Who are you?"
"My name is Soraxus and I'm here to challenge you." He shifted into a stance of his own.
"Why do you-" Leon wasn't able to finish his question because Soraxus had already sprung into action. He attempted to headbutt Leon in the face, but was stopped short by crossed forearms. Leon pushed him away. "Well that was a little rude..."
"Stop talking and Fight me." Soraxus was at it again, raining down fists, chops, and kicks from as many directions as he could manage.
Leon either swayed away from, or pushed back, every movement that targeted him, then stopped the assault with a well-placed palm that weaved between and struck Soraxus in the chest, pushing him across the stones. Now the older combatant was on the offensive, though not very seriously. He swung his arms forward as though ion a friendly spar, sweeping and pushing with his fists. Even though he was putting relatively little effort into each strike, Soraxus barely saw what was coming. In his perspective, each sweep of the forearm was as quick as the winds itself.
Not able to keep up for long, he eventually took a strike to the chest that knocked him onto his rear. When he looked up, he saw a chop homing in on his neck. Soraxus closed his eyes and braced for impact... which didn't come. He opened an eye to see Leon's outstretched fingers centimeters away from his neck.
"I win" said Leon. He offered his hand to the child who ignored it and got up on his own. "I believe you owe me answers, little guy."
"Fine, you win." came the stubborn reply.
"Okay, what I want to know is why are you so far out in the wilderness? Do you realize how dangerous it is out here?"
"I can take care of myself, besides... why do you care?" Soraxus turned away and folded his arms.
Leon sighed, previously under the assumption that he was the one answering the questions. "I didn't wish all you people back to life just so stubborn kids could wander off and get killed again."
That statement seemingly struck a chord in Soraxus's head. Last he remembered, he'd been attacked by a pink Majin, then a few moments of nothing, then a voice echoing and wishing for everyone to be resurrected. After that, he was standing where he was attacked, but the time of day had changed.
"So that was you? The voice that wished for everyone to come back to life?" A revelation said that Soraxus was talking to the very person who had assured everyone a chance at another life, whether they knew it or not.
"I wasn't aware that those in the afterlife could hear my wish..."
"What do you mean wish?"
"That's classified" Leon retorted.
"What?"
"What?"
A few moments of silence passed. Can't let everyone know about Dragon Balls, now can you? Leon broke the ice by resuming in his questioning.
"Where are your family and friends? I'm taking you home."
"Um..." Soraxus had to think by backtracking his travel. "That way. It's a long walk, maybe a few hours." Before he was aware of it, Leon had scooped him under one arm and was preparing to jump.
"I can manage." That was all he said before he leaped above the surrounding plateaus and flew into the distance, with his lightning like aura ablaze around them. Within minutes, Leon had arrived to the mostly intact, yet still crumbling, ruins of the city Soraxus claimed to have come from. He dropped at a safe speed and touched down with an upward rush of air around his landing zone.
Soraxus broke free from the saiyan's arm and walked towards a particular building that looked like a convenience store but with shelves overturned and mattresses atop them. "This is where I live" Soraxus said.
All around them were a bunch of small children around a little younger than Soraxus. A striking detail was that they all had tails... An entire group of saiyans, under his nose the entire time. Before this, Leon had always thought he was alone. As he looked around a little more, he found what he assumed was the 'ringleader' of the pack. There was a male saiyan about 15 years of age, though he understood he was older. Its only due to his constant overworking himself to make sure that the others were safe. Good intentions can only get you so far. This guy looks like he needs help. He just sat there with his eyes closed.
When he opened his eyes to see Leon and Soraxus, he stood immediately. "Who are you and what are you doing with Soraxus?"
"Easy there," Leon said sensing the obvious distress that the young man was feeling. "My name's Leon. I'm a friend and I want to help."
"You haven't done anything to the kid here did you?" he asked, gesturing towards Leon's new acquaintance, who just stood there without paying attention.
"NO, no. Not at all. Well, I did have to trip him up a bit after he-"
"Wrong answer, buddy!" The young man charged and pushed Leon out of the from door, knocking it off the hinges and sending him into the next wall. "Leave, and I won't get serious. You have to the count of 3 before I attack again" He stood in the doorway, watching Leon as he stood up.
"Well that was rude. At least now I know who taught Soraxus." Leon stood and brushed off his black fighting gi calmly.
"1"
"I don't know what you're so uptight about. I did nothing to provoke you."
"I don't care. Get to stepping your way out of here. 2"
"Well, I'm not getting out if this bind. Tell me, what's your name?"
"Nero. 1!" The freshly named Nero took a heavy step forward, foot burying partly into the asphalt, and dashed to near invisible speed. He intended to outright rush his opponent into submission, but he had no idea what he was up against.
Leon, still relaxed, waited patiently for Nero to make his move. Which came as a hard cross aimed for the back of his head. Leon ducked into a low cartwheel as the fighter passed sloppily overhead. Halfway into the flip, Leon forced his leg out defensively and sent the less experienced male into the air. Then completing the flip, ascended quickly.
Nero righted himself and rushed again, aiming for the other make's mid section then switching from time to time. He proved unsuccessful when all of his attacks were parried or awkwardly used against him; one such example when a left jab was too far left and he tripped on Leon's outstretched leg, ruining his balance.
"You should Improve your form and technique, or you're not gonna get far."
Nero growled. "I'll show you technique!" He turned in a 360 spin and spun a wide hay-maker, which was stopped by a parrying right forearm. Nero found himself a mere inch from Leon's left elbow.
"I could've taken you out any time before this. You should stop so I can just talk to you."
A feral growl escaped the enraged male before he dashed backwards 10 yards and drew his hands back. Nero ignited his white aura and powered most of his power remaining into his hands. "You think you're all that, Mr. Tough Guy? Then, chew on this! BraveShot Cannon!" All of the energy surround him them concentrated into his hands to the point where blue lightning began to radiate from them. Nero thrusted the spheres of energy towards Leon, which merged upon launch.
Leon readied himself as the white hot core of ki rushed to him, growing to encompass his field of view. The energy made contact with his palms, and forced him back without slowing down. Tapping into some reserves, Leon halted the blast but effort was still required to hold it back. Why? Because it was growing?
I see what's going on! This is reverse ki manipulation! He can concentrate the power of the attack while still allowing it to outwardly grow instead of shrink! Amazing...
Leon quickly assessed the situation and figured the best way to handle this was to overpower the cannon as quickly as possible. Now, igniting his own aura (which seemed to be comprised solely of rising electricity), Leon started to squeeze the white and blue ball. Pressure built between his hands until finally, it detonated. But not with as much force as you'd think. Leon had contained the explosion within his own ki barrier.
"No way! How could you brush off my attack like that!?" Nero yelled in a very frustrated tone. I put a lot of energy into that attack and its very taxing to pull that trick off... Nero regretted his lack of power as he began to lower himself to the ground.
"You have quite the potential, Nero. I was especially impressed with that last technique of yours." stated Leon as he followed Nero's descent. "With the proper refinement and training, you'd make an excellent warrior."
"How? Just tell me how..?"
"Hmm?"
It grinded Nero's gears at how nonchalant Leon was acting. "How can you have so much power? I mean, I've witnessed the strength of the chaotic beings that roam the cities, but you're unbelievable!"
"Um,-"
"You know what, I don't care just do away with me." Nero closed his eyes and raised his arms to the side, waiting for a finishing blow.
"That's not exactly what I was here for."
