It seems like I barely had any time to say goodbye to my mom and Cat it was up so fast.

My mom came in first hugging me and crying. It took everything I had not to cry with her. I managed to tell her it'd be fine and I'd be home soon. She didn't seem to believe me and I can't blame her because I didn't either.

Cat came in after and did the same thing at first. She hugged me tightly, tears running down her cheeks and my neck. I tried to calm her but her tears didn't slow in the slightest. The only thing she actually said was "You have to come back Tori." She kissed me on the cheek and left when the Peacekeepers came to get her.

The next thing I knew I was rushed onto the train and we were off. I found myself sitting in a booth with Robbie, in the car they serve food in I'm guessing, across from me was Katniss and we were still waiting on Haymitch.

"So, you're going to be my mentor?" I asked.

"Yeah. Haymitch will mentor Robbie." Katniss said. "You're sister volunteered for you last year?"

I nodded, "Yeah."

"I remember her. I thought she had a good chance."

"So did I."

"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have brought it up. You just look like her."

"So am I. She volunteered for nothing. I still got reaped."

Before she could respond the door slid open and Haymitch stumbled in, a bottle in his hand. He took a seat next to Katniss, after getting a glass for his booze.

"So, this is really all he does?" I asked.

Katniss nodded, "Pretty much."

Robbie looked at Haymitch, "Are you going to help?"

"I'm just here for the refreshments." Haymitch said.

"I need help if I want to win."
"i wouldn't get your hopes up on that."

Katniss rolled her eyes, "Haymitch."

"Sorry sweetheart, but you know as well as I do that both of their chances are low."

Katniss looked at me, thought in her eyes. "I don't know about that. I've got a good feeling this year."

"If you need me you know where I'll be." Haymitch stood and left the train.

Robbie frowned and his head dipped in disappointment. Katniss looked over at him, "I know I'm not your mentor but I'll help you if I can."

"Thanks." Robbie gave her a slight smile, Haymitch's words obviously bothering him.

The nearby T.V. turned on and they started to play the Reapings. As always District One started first and this year both Tributes were volunteers. They had weird names: Leliana and Hawke. Leliana was a redhead and looked like she was a diva, while Hawke had brownish-blond hair and was all muscles. They both looked so confident it was slightly unnerving. The only thing about the District Two tributes was that neither volunteered and they looked different. Aemilia and Corvin were both blondes, neither were particularly muscular but they both looked confident.

The last career district caught my attention and held it. District Four's male tribute was a volunteer by the name Beck Oliver. His black hair was long and he held the same confidence the other careers had. A bunch of the girls in the crowd cried when he volunteered.

However my attention was stuck on the girl: Jade West. She didn't volunteer and she looked royally pissed off that she was reaped. Her blue-green eyes didn't hold any emotion back and I'm not ashamed to say she scared me. Jade's raven hair fell in front of her face when she turned to Beck to shake his hand, but when she let go of his hand he immediately clutched his hand.

Only a few of the remaining tributes actually caught my attention but my thoughts kept going back to Jade. I'm not sure what it was about her but I couldn't shake her face out of my head.

"Tori. Tori!" Katniss voice shook me out of my thoughts.

"Huh? What?"

"You okay?" Katniss was looking at me. I glanced to Robbie only to find he was gone.

I nodded, "Yeah, I'm fine. Where'd Robbie go?"
Katniss smiled, "I asked him to give us some time alone so I could talk to you."

"About what?"

"The games. You can't get emotionally involved with anyone. You can't make friends." Katniss said, seriously.

"I know."

"I saw how you were staring at that career. You can't do that either."

I sighed, "I don't know what it is about her. But come on Katniss. We both know I won't even make it to the final ten! I probably won't get out of the bloodbath."

"Hey! I don't want to hear that kind of talk. Of course you won't win with that kind of attitude. Look, I'm going to do everything I can to help you okay?"

"What if it's not enough?"
"It will be. I'll teach you how to shoot a bow." Katniss offered.

"Actually...when I saw you shoot in your Hunger Games I went out, found one at the Hob and learned to shoot. Of course it was pretty crappy and broken." I admitted.

"Well as long as you know the basics I can help you get better. You'll be as good as me, but if you make any friends you won't be able to shot them!"

"And how do you know that? You never had to do that! You were lucky enough to not be put in that situation."

"Yeah, but I don't think I could've done it ended up with me and Rue. Peeta never intended on giving me that chance I think." She drifted off in thought, then shook her head. "You just shouldn't do it."

"So, is that why you keep running from Johanna?" I questioned.

"What?"

"The rumors are everywhere Katniss. Plus it doesn't help your argument when a load of people saw her knocking on your door, including me." I grinned at her embarrassment.

"What does this have to do with the Games?!"
I grinned, "Well, I-"

Before I could finish my sentence Effie came in and started going on about something. I tuned her out until Katniss informed me we had made it to the capitol.
