2. Love
"I'm in love."
Yusuke leaned over the teenager in front of him to look at her face.
"With who?"
She shook her head, jostling Yusuke's as she did so, shrugging off the question like it wasn't worth her time. And to her, Yusuke was sure, it wasn't.
"Pure, unadulterated love." she continued under her breath, although he heard it well enough.
Switching his gaze from the girl to follow her line of site, Yusuke looked for whoever it was Kagome was ogling. When he did, he sighed,
"Should have figured…" he muttered.
"It's so hot and steamy…" Kagome trailed on, her mouth practically drooling at the corner. Her big, blue eyes were half lidded, permanently set into that dreamy expression. Or so Yusuke feared.
"Come on," he said, dragging her arm in order to lead her away from the shop window and off the busy sidewalk. "that can't be healthy."
"Bu-but the oden Yusuke!" she protested.
"Will be there another day." Why did he have to be the responsible one with this girl? He had half a mind to let her scare the shop owner into giving them free food anyway. Sighing, he continued to drag her away.
Kagome pouted, but allowed herself to be dragged away.
'Don't worry' she thought mutinously. 'I'll be back.'
