Went back and read this, and decided to do a little continuation oneshot. I might add more snippits of their life together in the future. 'Cause Bolin is still cuter than a box of puppies ;0;

Enjoy~!

Asuna hummed quietly as she walked through the streets of Republic City, a smile pulling across her face. Life had seemed to go perfectly for the passed month; she had joined the greatest ProBending team ever and had a new family in them, she was living comfortably off her wages with her pet, and she had recently acquired the most amazing boyfriend in the world. She and Bolin had been dating for about a week and a half now, and things were going great with him. In fact, her leisurely stroll was taking her right to Bolin on the late Saturday morning, where they were going to have a picnic in the park.

Bolin wanted her the perfect date to make up for Valentine's Day. He had insisted on preparing everything. He made the entire contents of the picnic basket himself, and he had only ruined the desert twice before he deemed it edible on the third try; not perfect, but edible. Cooking had never been his strong suit, but he was more than willing to put the effort in.

As Asuna approached the appointed meeting spot, Bolin smiled and waved her over. They shared a sweet, if not slightly awkward, smile as she joined him on the picnic blanket, tucking her feet underneath her as she sat down next to the Earthbender. Things were going great between them, but they were still getting used to the transition from friends to lovers.

"Good morning, Bo," Asuna greeted, touching the boy's hand just so and making Bolin's face heat up.

"It's always a good morning when you're around," Bolin quipped, leaning in close as his voice came out low and sultry. Asuna just laughed at the response, shaking her head.

"So, what's your big surprise?" the Waterbender asked, looking out over the water. She had to give the boy credit for that, at least; he knew the best places in the city. The view was amazing, overlooking the large expanse of blue that was the ocean. Best of all, they were out of the public's eye, tucked away in a nice little nook that was hidden behind trees and bushes.

Bolin grinned as he opened the basket beside him. "Well, I'm glad you asked, Asuna." He reached into the basket, pulling out two haphazardly wrapped sandwiches with an arrogant look on his face. "Are you prepared to eat the best chicken-dove sandwich of your life?"

Asuna giggled at the boy's antics as she took the offered food and unwrapped. "I don't know, I'm not sure I'm ready for something so amazing." She stared dramatically at the sandwich in her hands, as though contemplating whether or not she could handle it. Then, she took a large bite out of the food, a hum of thought passing through her lips as she chewed slowly. Bolin leaned slightly closer, his eyes wide in anticipation as he waited for a definitive response from the girl.

"It's good," Asuna confirmed quietly, swallowing down the food. A grin pulled at her lips as blue eyes locked with green. "The best chicken-dove sandwich I've ever eaten!" It wasn't the best she had ever eaten, but the way that Bolin's face shone at the compliment made it taste even better as she took another bite.

Bolin let out a quiet giggle as he unwrapped his own sandwich. "I'm sure it's not really the best you've ever eaten, but I'm glad you like it." He took a bite of his own food as he stared out at the water contently. His bite made Asuna's look like a nibble, and he finished his sandwich in seconds.

Asuna scooted closer to the Eathbender, resting her head against his shoulder as she stared out at the water as well. She let out a hum as she took another bite of her sandwich. "It is the best I've ever eaten," she stated thoughtfully. Bolin glanced down at her, but neither moved. "Because you made it. And I can taste all the love you put in." She took another bite, slowly chewing and swallowing the food. "And that's what makes it the best." She popped the finally piece into her mouth, starting slightly when Bolin wrapped his arms around her and pulled her tightly against his chest.

"You're too cute, Asu!" Bolin cooed at the girl as he squeezed her against him in a hug. Asuna giggled at the affection from the boy, her cheeks turning red as she let him get it out of his system. After a few seconds, he loosened up his grip and Asuna snuggled comfortably against him. "I really love you, Asuna."

The Waterbender pulled away slightly, lifting her head to look at Bolin. Amazing, beautiful, funny, sweet Bolin. Her Bolin. A small smile pulled at her lips as the green eyes staring back at her pulled at her heart. "I love you, too, Bolin," she answered him. The words still felt odd on her tongue, but she knew she would never get tired of them, or the way Bolin's eyes lit up when she spoke them. He leaned down, capturing her lips in his. The kiss was sweet and slow, and when their lips parted neither of them seemed to want to let go.

"There's still desert," Bolin mumbled. Their lips were so close now, he could feel Asuna's light breath warm his face.

"Desert's great, thanks," was Asuna's reply as she brushed her lips against the Earthbender's again. Bolin made a choking noise, causing the girl to panic and pull away. "What? Are you okay?" She stared up at Bolin as he flailed slightly, his face bright red.

"Smooth!' Bolin squeaked out, staring at Asuna like she grew a second head. "That was so smooth, where did it come from?"

Asuna blushed, ducking her head as laughter bubbled up inside of her. "What, just because I'm horribly awkward I can't have smooth moments?" She leaned closer to the boy now, caressing his cheek softly as she stared into his eyes. A smirk pulled at her lips as she stopped but an inch away from his lips, opting to rub her thumb over his bottom lip rather than bestow another kiss upon the boy.

"'Never said that," Bolin mumbled, his lip quivering at her touch. He had a hard time focusing on words when she was leaning in so close that he could smell her shampoo. And her eyes were driving him crazy, locked in on him like a predator about to pounce on its prey. Maybe not the right analogy to think of when he was already having trouble concentrating.

"Desert?" Asuna asked as she pulled herself away. Bolin let out a breath he hadn't realized he was holding as he watched the girl rummage through the basket. It took much longer than he would like to have admitted to realize what she was doing.

"Wait," he called, reaching for the basket in a panic. But, when his eyes met with a sapphire pendant, the words died on his lips.

Asuna stared down at the pendant. The gem was in a silver border, all of which fit snugly in the center of her palm, and a thin, silver chain dangled loosely from it. Her eyes lifted to meet Bolin's, and the boy could only blush at the look she gave him.

"What's this for?" she asked, her eyes wide with wonder. Surely, it wasn't a gift for her. That would be absurd. It looked too expensive. But, if it wasn't for her, then why would he have jewelry with him?

After a moment of bashful silence between the two, Bolin gave the girl a sweet smile. He held her hand, staring down at the pendant before his eyes met Asuna's again. "Happy Valentine's Day," he said softly, a quiet laugh on his lips. "Sorry it's so late."

Asuna was the silent one now. She looked down at the necklace, then back at Bolin, then back at the necklace. When her eyes met the Earthbender's again, they seemed to have gotten bigger and bluer. "Oh," was the first word that passed her lips, her mouth taking on the form of the word for several seconds more. "It's... It's beautiful, thank you, Bolin." Her eyes stayed locked onto his now.

"Only the best for you," Bolin shot back easily, his smile slowly widening until it consumed half his face.

"No, seriously," Asuna continued, sounding a little panicked now. "I've never... this is... I just..." She turned her eyes down to stare at the jewelry again, her cheeks burning at her inability to form a coherent sentence. She felt the large, calloused hand against her jawline as Bolin guided her face to his. The kiss was so tender and loving that Asuna felt like she might cry when he pulled away.

"You're welcome," Bolin said softly, his voice sincere as he smiled down at the girl. "But, you should really get used to it. I'll be getting you a lot of nice things from now on; because you're so beautiful, you deserve to be surrounded by beautiful things." His smile pulled into a grin as he spoke. He noticed that Asuna's eyes seemed to get even bigger, but the thought jumped out of his mind when the girl threw herself at him. They fell back on the blanket, Asuna laying on top of Bolin and showering the boy's face in kisses.

"You're the best boyfriend ever, Bo!" Asuna cooed. When she was satisfied with the level of affection she had given him, she buried her face in the crook of his neck with a quiet giggle on her lips. They laid there silently for several seconds. Bolin stared at the clouds that passed overhead, a dazed look in his eye and a smile stuck on his face, so wide that his cheeks started burning from the strain. "Desert," Asuna finally said after a moment, sitting up quickly as she realized she had forgotten about the food. She dug through the basket again, humming a cheerful tune as she pulled out the chocolate cupcakes. They were lopsided and the frosting was a mess, but Asuna just smiled and enjoyed every bite as she ate the delicious pastry.

After the food was finished, the two just sat in each other's embrace, staring out at the water. They shared lighthearted conversation, and before they knew where the time went, the sun began sinking in the sky. The blue faded into shades of gold and red, the sky burning vibrantly above them. Bolin tightened his grip around Asuna's waist, green locking on with golden-blue as the sunset reflected off of the girl's eyes. The sight knocked the boy's breath away. Whatever he was going to say died on his lips and he, instead, pulled the girl in for another sweet kiss.

"I love you." The words were muttered breathlessly into the kiss. Bolin just smiled in response and pulled Asuna down with him as he fell back onto the blanket, his lips moving roughly against hers now as they both let the passion of the moment sweep over them. When they finally did pull away for air, faces flushed and bodies intertwined, they locked eyes again. "Happy Valentine's Day." Asuna grinned up cheekily at the Earthbender and Bolin just laughed quietly in response as he held the girl he loved closer to him.

"Happy Valentine's Day."
