L'amour Pas Comme Les Autres

Author's Note: Wow, I cannot believe it's been a full year since I posted this. I'm still pretty much infatuated with writing, it isn't healthy, but I don't mind. And I still love Soul Eater. I guess I just got busy and forgot about this story. Forgive me! Hahaha :) Also this will most likely be a very short fic, most-likely under five chapters.

As always, I don't, nor have I ever, nor am I likely to in the future, own(ed) Soul Eater or it's characters and original plot points.

Chapter 2

Maka's POV

That night I couldn't sleep. I tossed and turned thinking of who Soul could possibly like. My mind had conjured up probably two-hundred images of perfect girls that Soul could love. I wasn't one of them. I sat up in my bed and crawled over to the window. The night sky was peaceful, the opposite of my mind. The stars shone brightly and I smiled up at the heavens. No matter what happened, no matter who Soul loved, I would be okay. I wouldn't let anything change us and our partnership I silently promised the sky. With that, I laid back down and closed my eyes letting my own exhaustion lull me to sleep.

Knock knock. "Urghhh." Knock knock. "Ughhh!"

"Maka?"

"Gahhh!" Knock knock. "Go away Soul." My tired voice said, my throat was dry so the words came out quietly.

"Maka, I have breakfast ready." Soul said. I sat up quickly and rushed out of my room to make sure he hadn't destroyed the kitchen.

Soul in fact, hadn't burnt the kitchen down to it's foundation at all. I smiled appreciatively towards Soul after noticing the nice breakfast placed on the kitchen table. Soul grinned back and I took my usual spot. There was a note by my plate. I eyed the eggs and bacon hungrily then turned my attention back towards the note.

Good morning Maka, thank you for the advice yesterday. I plan on following it… So if you could look at me now, well, that would probably be the coolest thing in the world.

Soul.

I smiled at the cute note then looked up at Soul as instructed. Soul smiled awkwardly then pulled his hand out from behind his back and held out a red rose. I blushed and looked at the flower, then at Soul, then at the note, then at Soul, then at my breakfast, then at Soul again.

"All of this is for me?" I asked. Soul nodded and I took the rose from him happily.

"So this girl I like… In case it wasn't obvious, yeah… She's you." Soul said scratching the back of his head, his eyes shifted away from me and then he quickly looked back at me as if he was trying to see what my reaction was. I smiled for his benefit.

"Thank you so much Soul. I never thought you'd actually like me too." I said smiling.

"Too?" Soul asked, I blushed and nodded at my weapon. Soul smiled from ear to ear, then he scooped me up out of the kitchen chair and into his arms.

"Ahh Soul! Put me down!" I covered my face with my hands and screamed. Soul laughed and carefully took my hands away from my face. Soul carried me to the couch. "Why are you doing this to me? I'm hungry Soul." I protested.

"Maka, I just want one minute of your time and affection. After that I promise we can eat. Pleasee?" Soul gave me a sad attempt at puppy dog eyes and I laughed.

"Okay." I nodded. Soul laid me down on the couch and laid next to me. Soul kissed my nose and I giggled. "That tickles." I said, pouting. Soul wrapped his arm around me and turned me around. "So I can't eat bacon… because you wanted to… snuggle?" I asked, letting myself be the little spoon.

"Pretty much." Soul smiled against my shoulder, I shivered. I turned around and shoved Soul off the couch and ran to my bacon. "That hurt's Maka, that really does." Soul called from the living room. I shrugged and ate my breakfast.
