Chapter 2 Follow your Ear

A/N Sorry for the shortish chapter, pls review so I know what you guys are thinking. ENJOY

Coco was staying alert, searching for Velvet in the trees even though she already found a partner she still had a feeling that Velvet wasn't Ok. She scanned the trees, as she walked along, a little ahead of her new partner (Yatsuhashi Daichi).

She heard the sound of running, and a roar to accompany it. She ran after the sound signaling Yatsuhashi to follow. What if it was Velvet? She caught sight of a Beowolf chasing a red haired boy with bladed gauntlets... holding Velvet. She instantly vowed to help the duo, though part of her was jealous that she wasn't the one to carry Velvet.

Leaping into the air, Coco swung her handbag down on the grimm's face, making it yowl in pain. Coco didn't stop to make one of her quip lines, she just activated her minigun and released a barrage of bullets at the howling grimm. Once the bullets stopped pelting, Yatsuhashi swiped at a paw that was coming his way, sending the grimm into more howling. Coco deactivated her handbag and jumping into the air, re-crashing the bag on the monster before her. She kicked it in its stomach, and it fell backward. Coco was about to send more bullets it's way if Yatsuhashi hadn't sliced the Beowolf in half; ending the fight.

!AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Velvet woke up groggily, opening her eyes to see her red headed savior, staring ahead. And noticing with a jolt that he was carrying her. Velvet looked over his shoulder to see Coco kicking the Beowolf that had attacked her.

`Has she always been that strong?` Velvet wondered turning her head back to the red head who was now staring at her with those milky eyes indicating his blindness.

She hadn't noticed that they had stopped until he was starting to set her down. Velvet didn't have time to get her bearings or even stabilize herself; before Coco swept her up into a hug. She smelled like gunpowder again, but Velvet could make out the faint trace of coffee left from that morning.

"Are you Ok?" Coco whispered into the bunny's ear. Velvet pulled away sadly, and looked at the red headed boy and said her thanks.

"You're welcome, it seems I have made a friend with more friends, and that is a good thing to have." He said smiling a little.

Coco stepped forward taking the initiative, to start introductions.

"Coco Adel"

"Fox Alister"

Coco and Fox shook hands before Coco stepped back, seemingly pleased.

Velvet stepped forward, and put out her hand. "Velvet Scarlatina"

They shook hands and she then stepped back.

Another tall, bulky boy Velvet hadn't noticed before stepped into our little circle.

"Yatsuhashi Daichi"

He didn't shake anybody's hand, just stood there and waited. Fox nodded then Velvet did. They were silent for a few minutes until Velvet could strike up the courage to ask the question she knew that all of them were thinking.

"So where do we go from here?"

Fox looked at her and replied.

"Use your ears."

Velvet knew what he meant and she frowned. Tuning in with her faunus ears she listened, she caught a sound and pinpointed it direction then spoke.

"I hear something that way..." Velvet didn't get to finish her sentence and say `but I don't know if that is the right way` because Fox started of in that direction leaving no room for complaint. Coco looked at Velvet then to Fox back to Velvet, then just shrugged and followed. Then Velvet was left with Yatsuhashi who also looked at Velvet then started off behind the other two.

"We must follow.". Was all the bulky boy said as he started down the path.

Velvet's bunny ears drooped; what if she let them down? What then?

Coco strode confidently behind Fox, he seemed like a guy of good judgement, and she definitely trusts Velvet... so why not?

The only problem the fashionable girl had with the woods, was the dirt- getting on her clothes. She was currently wearing her most sturdy outfit, but it was also her favorite. With her black knotted scarf, orange sweater, and knee high combat boots.

Though annoying, that wasn't the thing weighing on Coco's mind, that particular bugger would be the fact that Velvet was walking at the back of the group... depressed. Coco had full confidence in her faununses abilities but it seemed that she did not share the sentiment.

So Coco turned around abruptly and grabbed Velvet's had dragging her to the front of the group, and kept her hand in Velvet's making the shorter girl blush. Coco knew that is was probably just because of the action itself, but a small part of her couldn't help but hope... just a little that maybe it was because she liked Coco... just a little...
