Chapter Two
Andy's POV
I had finally entered the world of sweet sleep when the cries started. Having a baby was amazing, but when Savannah cried at night, I thought I was going to end up ripping my own hair out. Why can't she sleep all through the night for once?
I stopped complaining to myself as I shuffled off the bed and headed for the baby room, each step making the cries get louder and louder. I hated to hear her cry. She was my daughter and it was like torture for me to see her uncomfortable.
"Ssh, Savannah" I whispered into her ear as I cradled her tiny little body. She calmed down slightly when she realised she was in the arms of someone and that she was safe. "I'll feed you, girl."
I crept down the stairs with Savannah in my arms and prepared her bottle. I placed my finger near her so she grabbed onto for the simple fact that it never got boring. I chuckled at her as she grasped for my lip ring. She may only be a baby, but I knew that she could rip that thing right out if she wanted to. I pulled my head away to keep my jewellery out of her reach. I tested the milk on my forearm after seeing Riley do it so many times. Satisfied that it was a good temperature for Savannah to drink, I lowered the bottle to her lips and she drank from it, happily. Riley was right when she said that Savannah's eyes always lit up when she was drinking.
I was so absorbed in watching Savannah drink her milk that I didn't hear someone creep around upstairs.
"What are you doing?" A female voice asked. Riley. My back was to her, so it must have looked like I was staring at the kitchen counters since it was impossible to see Savannah in front of me.
"Feeding Savannah" I called over my shoulder. I could hear her approach me and look over my shoulder at Savannah. She hugged me from behind, resting her chin on my shoulder.
"Isn't this your first time feeding her since the hospital?" Riley asked me. I would have fed her after that, but Riley was always too quick for me.
"Yeah, am I doing a good job?" I asked, slightly proud of the fact that I could feed Savannah without any help.
"You're very talented at feeding a baby" Riley laughed as she pulled a bottle of water from the fridge for herself. Savannah drained the bottle dry before she finally started looking happy with life again.
"Do you want to put her to bed or shall I?" I asked. She shrugged, not too fussed who done it as long as everyone got some more sleep. I smiled at her before heading upstairs to put Savannah back in her crib. She curled up before I pulled the small blanked over her again and left, meeting Riley on my journey back to the bedroom.
"Goodnight" Riley whispered as we wrapped up and went back to the sleep.
When I woke up that morning, I was alone in the bed and I could hear mumbling form downstairs. Curious, I shrugged off the blanket and headed downstairs to see Sammi and Riley playing with Savannah. Sammi had the rabbit that me and Riley had bought Savannah for Christmas and was dangling it in front of Savannah's eyes. The look of amazement on her eyes was too cute.
I headed over to the laptop that was switched on, already on the comments for the music video. I read through them in amazement at so many people talking about my life.
His girlfriend's just had a baby!
Andy's a dad
The baby's called Savannah!
I was clueless as to how these people knew all of these things and a little freaked out at the fact that they knew all these things about the lead singer of a band that isn't even signed.
"How does everyone know that Riley had a baby?" I asked, a look of confusion upon my face as I tried to figure it out before Sammi explained it all to me.
"I tweet a lot" Sammi answered as though it was the most obvious thing in the world. Of course it would have been Sammi who tweeted about me and Riley having a baby.
"Well as long as I know" I joked as Riley chuckled at whatever it was that Savannah was doing. Riley hopped off the sofa and moved over to where I was standing. I pulled her into my arms and kissed the top of her head, but she moved her head up to quick, so I kissed her lips instead, but, hey, I wasn't complaining.
"I thought you said you weren't planning on having another baby, yet" Sammi said, her voice making her sound as though she wasn't joking about her comment, but I could see the teasing in her eyes.
"Really mature, Sammi" Riley commented before turning back to Savannah just as Jake came downstairs, fully dressed. Was I the only one who woke up late, today?
"How's my favourite niece?" Jake asked with a broad grin as he looked me up and down in my rumpled grey tee and sweat pants with my hair sticking up in all directions.
"She's your only niece" Riley reminded as Jake grinned and picked Savannah up. What was with everyone holding Savannah today?
"Yeah, let's keep it that way for... ten years" Jake sighed as he kissed the top of Savannah's head.
"I kind of want to have another baby" Riley sighed, shrugging as though it was one of those what can you do? moments.
"You better be kidding" Jake said, his eyes going wide.
Riley's POV
"Of course I'm only joking" I laughed. "She kept me and Andy busy last night. Having Savannah is enough."
"You're forgiven then" Jake stated as he raided the fridge for anything that could satisfy his hunger. He handed me Savannah so he could look in the fridge properly.
"I think she might need to be changed" I sighed as I stood up and went to the bathroom. This always got annoying. Savannah did not like to be changed, but she didn't like to be dirty. It was a lose – lose situation.
"Do you need any help?" Andy asked, but I simply shook my head as I locked the bathroom door.
"Please don't cry, Savannah" I mumbled to myself as I got to work. I was getting quicker and quicker at this every time I done it. My mom would be proud of me now if she could see me. That made me think of something that she had said to me when I was only a young child.
Flashback
I sat down next to my mom on the sofa as she flicked through any random channels on the television with Jake on the other side of me. She settled on a film that I wasn't convinced had a real plot to it, but when she turned to me she had a warm smile on her face. She was watching something to do with a baby being christened and she just had to tell me something. "When you have a baby will you get it christened?" She asked. I wasn't even sure what happened at a christening, but I knew that it would make my mom happy if she knew that I was going to do that, so I nodded.
End Flashback
I found out a few years ago that she knew she was going to die then. It made it feel like I had to do it even more for her now. She had asked me to do that when she was seriously ill, making it feel like a last wish from me. I could not refuse that now.
When Savannah was clean and happy, I headed back to the living room to see that Jinxx had arrived. I smiled at him warmly before handing him Savannah, knowing that he loved to hold her as much as everyone else did. It would be simply cruel to keep her from Savannah's cuteness. I sat down on the sofa next to Andy, my head resting on his shoulder from the tiredness. The room fell into a comfortable silence, but was broken when Savannah sneezed rather loudly. I nearly jumped out of my skin, but excitement took over. That was the first time that I had heard her sneeze.
"I'll go get the baby book" Andy sighed. Yes, I had been going mad with it, but I was so proud of Savannah every time she done those little things. It made me think that she was learning and that she would become a child prodigy.
Andy returned with the pink baby book in his hand that now bore a Black Veil Brides sticker. I rolled my eyes at Andy as he handed it to me with a pen. I knew there wouldn't be a section for first sneeze, but I'd make one in the notes. It may be stupid to get excited over the fact that my baby just sneezed, but I knew I was weird and just didn't care anymore. I pressed the pen to the book and wrote –
Savannah just sneezed for the first time. Just ask the witnesses, Andy, Jake, Sammi, Jinxx and myself.
I closed the book and lay it on the coffee table, knowing that it wouldn't take long for me to write something else about Savannah.
"Andy?" I questioned.
"Mhm"
"My mom said to me that she wanted me to get my child christened"
"Right?"
"Would you mind if we got Savannah christened?" I shared a glance with Jake, knowing that he knew exactly why I found this so important. With him being a year older than me, Mom considered him to be at the appropriate age to know about her illness. He knew about the cancer that was attacking her body and he never bothered to tell me that I had to cherish all of my moments with her because they were numbered. I had hated him for months after Mom died because he told me that he knew all along. I didn't try and be a part of the family until Dad went a bit crazy and I was old enough to see how much pain Jake was in. I had conveniently forgotten that Jake had lost his mother too. All I could see was betrayal and then, finally, some sense.
"Judging by the look on your face and Jake's, it's something important to your family, so of course I don't mind" Andy said, breaking the silence and my gaze from Jake's before he kissed my cheek. Maybe I can finally do you proud Mom.
Sorry for this chapter being shorter than the first, but I hope you enjoy it and please leave a review telling me what you think. It's much appreciated ;)
