The first part of this chapter will be from the viewpoint of Alexa because Jade is unconscious.

(Alexa POV)

"Jade!" I called for what felt like the hundredth time, following the path of broken twigs and disturbed underbrush and desperately hoping that Jade didn't run right into a wild pokemon's territory. I kept following it, wondering how in the reverse world Jade had the energy to run this long. Finally, after nearly an hour of jogging, I glimpsed a clearing up ahead. Praying to Arceus that I had finally found him and that the silence that pervaded the area wasn't a reason to worry, I quickened my pace.

I stopped short, however, once I stepped into the clearing. Surrounding me was carnage, the likes of which I had never seen before. All around, there was upturned ground, burning bushes, scorched grass, and decimated trees. Just in front of me were at least a dozen unconscious, at least I hoped, Scyther, scattered throughout the destroyed clearing. The most notable part, excluding the Scyther, was the large trench that cut through the center of the clearing and into the forest surrounding. Following the trench, my eyes landed upon-

"JADE?!" I yelled when I realized exactly what it was that was resting in the middle of the large crater. Even in the dimming light, I could see the large cuts that littered his body and the blood that was beginning to pool around him. 'What the hell happened!? He was gone for all of twenty minutes!'

Shaking off those thoughts I ran over to where Jade was lying and checked his pulse to make sure that he was still alive. It was beating, thankfully, perhaps a little slowly, but beating all the same. Thinking quickly, I took out a silver dog whistle out of my pocket, thankful now that Dad made me carry it everywhere, and blew it as hard as I could before sitting back down next to Jade. I tore some of the already ripped fabric from his shirt and attempted to wrap some of the larger cuts while I waited.

A few minutes later an Arcanine came bounding into the destroyed clearing, looking around intently. Upon seeing me next to an unconscious Jade he quickly walked over to us and started sniffing at Jade. He made a concerned face and looked up at me questioningly.

"Fallow, I need you to carry me and Jade back to Viridian, quickly. He needs medical attention as soon as possible," I told the canine. He looked back down at Jade for a moment before looking back up at me and giving a quick nod, crouching down to make it easier to get Jade on his back."Thank you," I said before grabbing Jade and hauling him onto Fallow's back, and then getting on myself. He checked to make sure that we were secure before bounding off through the woods at a breakneck pace towards Viridian City.

(Jade POV)

The first thing that I noticed upon waking up was that I had a really bad headache. I tried to raise my hand to my head in what would undoubtedly be a futile attempt to alleviate some of the pain but stopped suddenly when more pain lanced up my arm. It wasn't much, but it certainly woke me up. I was suddenly aware of the dull ache that I could feel throughout most of my body and groaned at the uncomfortable feeling. I stopped, however, when I felt something shifting next to me on the bed. Wondering what it could be, I finally opened my eyes and looked at my side.

Laying there, curled up against me, was a small, grey and red fox, sleeping contentedly. I smiled as I recognized the Pokemon as Faux, my Zorua. As I sat up, I let out a small chuckle at how innocent he looked while sleeping; a far cry from his normally mischievous personality. The sound seemed to rouse him from his sleep as he lifted his head groggily and looked around himself for the source of the disturbance. He caught sight of my smiling face and made a small noise to convey his displeasure before curling back up to go to sleep. I let out another chuckle, slightly louder this time. I ignored his continued grumbling to look around the room.

I was in a plain-looking room with tan-colored walls, two doors, presumably leading to a closet and hallway, and a window. A nightstand, chair, and the bed seemed to be the only furniture. I recognized it as the guest bedroom of Alexa's house, having gotten familiar with it after the incident. 'Funny,' I thought. 'I half-expected to wake up in a hospital.' I glanced out the window, confirming my suspicions as to my whereabouts, briefly wondering if the events of the night before were nothing more than a dream. Though my aching body suggested otherwise. Shaking my head, I looked back to the room at large. I saw a pile of my clothing and other belongings in one corner. A shifting weight on the bed brought my attention back to the Pokemon at my side. I brought my hand up and scratched behind one of his soft ears, eliciting a purr from the small fox. He lifted his head to look at me sleepily and smiled before laying back down and going back to sleep.

I laughed quietly at his reaction, and that seemed to wake him up. He looked back up at me irritably, before realizing that I was awake. "Jade! You're awake! I was so worried about you when they brought me here and you were unconscious!"

I sat there smiling as he rambled on about how worried he was, how I should never do anything like that again, and something about me owing him a box of Poke Puffs for scaring him; until I realized something. "YOU CAN TALK!" I all but screamed.

He looked at me confused for a second before saying, "I've always been able to talk." He gained a more annoyed look, "Of course, you never understand me..."

"I mean that I can understand you!" I clarified.

He looked at me weirdly for a few more moments before the realization hit him. "Oh my Arceus! You can understand me! This is great! Do you know how long I've wanted to talk to you?! There are so many things that I've wanted to tell you!"

"Such as?" I asked.

"Well, first of all, you should get different Pokemon food, that stuff you keep giving me is disgusting!" His face twisted to one of absolute disgust. I knew he was exaggerating, seeing as how he could have communicated the sentiment in spite of the language barrier. "Second," he started again, doing a complete one-eighty and looking at me excitedly, "I want a scarf!"

"A scarf," I repeated flatly.

"Yeah! Scarves are cool!" He exclaimed passionately.

"Okay… I'll make sure to get a different brand of Pokemon food next time I go to the store," I replied, completely ignoring his comment about getting a scarf. He perked up upon hearing that and waited for me to continue. Once it was obvious that I wasn't going to, he opened his mouth, no doubt ready to start an argument. However, before he could start, I heard the door open and saw Alexa hurry in, worry clear on her face. Her father waited in the doorway, likely trying to give me some space. As she neared my bed, Alexa started rambling.

"Jade! Are you okay? We heard you shout," Alexa asked, referring to my earlier exclamation about being able to understand Faux. 'Oh right, probably should've realized that there were other people in the house…'

"Um… Yeah, I'm fine, Faux just scared me when I woke is all," I responded going him a mock glare.

"Why aren't you telling them that you can understand me?" Faux asked while giving me a curious look. I ignored him, instead, I turned my attention back to Alexa and her father.

"Are you sure you're okay?" Mr. Ortiz, Alexa's dad, asked. "The doctors said that you were physically healthy beyond a few scrapes and exhaustion, but there was a lot of blood on your clothes."

"Yeah, I'm fine," I assured him. "Just exhausted myself running is all."

"Really?" Alexa asked, narrowing her eyes at me, "Then what was with the destroyed clearing and all of those fainted Scyther?"

'Well crap. What now? How am I supposed to get out of this when she saw what I did? Well I guess I should tell the truth… Or the half-truth. Yeah, let's go with that' I looked up and was met by her inquisitive gaze. I sighed and responded, "I honestly don't remember exactly what happened last night. I remember that I was running from the funeral for a while before I got tired and realized that I was lost. I wandered around for a bit trying to get my bearings when I realized that I was surrounded by Scyther. I ran from them for a while before I tripped on a tree root and fell. I curled up to try and protect myself, which worked about as well as you would expect. Thankfully, it wasn't long before I heard a roar close by. While the Scyther were distracted, I tried to get away. I heard them trying to follow me before there was a white light and i was thrown into a tree. I blacked out after that." I explained to them. That last part may have been a lie, but it's not like they would believe that I turned into a Tyranitar and knocked them out myself.

They both looked at me for a while before Alexa sighed and said, "Well when I found you, you were in the middle of a crater surrounded by destroyed woodland and at least two dozen fainted Scyther. Are you sure that's all that you remember?"

I looked at her for a moment before I responded with, "Well, I thought I heard a Tyranitar cry before I blacked out, but I can't be sure."

They both just looked at me with raised eyebrows, waiting for more, before shrugging it off. "Well, if you're feeling up for it, we have breakfast going downstairs," Mr. Ortiz informed me. He moved to make his way towards said stairs before stopping. "Before I forget, the Doctor said that you will still be able to start your journey in a few days, so long as you use those days to rest. A doctor will be coming here to check you out the day that you're supposed to leave, so you better listen to what they have to say. You can use this room until you're cleared to go," he offered. I nodded to show that I understood, telling them that I'd be down in a minute, before going back to petting Faux. Once both of them left Faux turned to me and asked, "So, what really happened? And why didn't you tell them the truth?"

I sighed, knowing that there was no use lying to him. "Well, I don't think that they would believe the truth even if I told them. Anyways my story up to tripping on a root was the truth, but after I had tripped I heard a voice in my head."

"I knew that you were going insane!" He exclaimed with a triumphant look on his face. I rolled my eyes and flicked him on the ear, ignoring his whining, before continuing.

"ANYways, the voice turned out to be Mew-"

"Wait..."

"-And she told me how to transform into a Tyranitar-"

"What!"

"-And I fought the swarm off by myself right before I collapsed from exhaustion." I finished. He just sat there with an incredulous look. "Now, did I lie at all through that?" I asked, knowing that, somehow, he would be able to tell. He sat there a moment longer reviewing what he had seen from me when I told the story. Afterward, he sighed when he realized that I was telling the truth.

"Okay, it's hard to believe, but at least you believe that you're telling the truth. And since you can understand me now I guess that lends credence to your story, and this is too far-fetched for you to make up. I believe you, but why would Mew do this for you?" I opened my mouth to answer and promptly closed it when I realized that I didn't know. So, in the end, I just shrugged my shoulders. He let his gaze rest on me for a moment longer before sighing and saying, "Well you should probably get downstairs, they're waiting for you. But don't forget that you're buying me that scarf!" I rolled my eyes once more, before picking him up and heading downstairs,

While we were walking Faux realized something. "Hey, if you transformed into a Tyranitar does that mean that you could transform into anything? Like Mew?" I stopped. I hadn't thought of that yet, but the more I thought about it the more excited I got about the possibility.

"I don't know," I replied. "But after breakfast, we can find out." He replied by eagerly nodding his head. So we went down to eat breakfast hoping that I would be able to use my ability later that day.

Yay, second chapter! I really appreciate all of the positive feedback that I'm getting from this story! So, not much happens in this chapter but in the next chapter I'll be showing the extent of what Jade can do with his new powers and I'm going to explain exactly what is going on with Mew and what exactly Jade is now, so there's that! Please leave a review and tell me how this is going so far and what I could change to make it better, thank you and I'll see you in the next chapter!

Edit: fixed some spelling errors and changed a bit, will be working on rewriting the next chapter so that Jade won't be nearly as powerful and the plot is a bit more cohesive.
