Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter. Duh.

Hermione whisked Harry down the darkened halls. Both were thankful that at least the library was in the same place. Hermione plopped Harry down at the table and immediately rushed into the maze of shelves. A small squeak emerged soon after.
"Harry!" Hermione gushed. "The books aren't the same. They're all dark!"
"Well, one should think so," Harry remarked dryly. "Or didn't you hear the whispers? 'Only the darkest are in Ravenclaw.' 'Voldemort the Light'."
Hermione glared at him for a moment before remarking, "I rather like this side of you, Harry. Come on, though!" as she retreated from the library.

Harry awoke the next morning in a room resplendent in rich blues and silvers. With a start he sprung from his bed, grabbed his wand as had been drilled into him, and began to lightly prowl the room. His roommates did not appear to have awoken yet, but one never know. He felt he had adjusted admirably to the situation he was in, before deciding to look into his trunk.
Upon opening it he barely managed to avoid falling onto his bottom. The sheer number of compartments it had was astounding! He noticed tiny labels on each one soon after, and decided to look into "School Materials and Uniforms". He examined his uniform, finding it to be in order, and moved onto his book bag. Harry couldn't avaoid a gasp. He found it laden with blood quills, rune stones, and other dark artifacts that one would expect only to see in the Ministry. And I thought I was doing well adjusting!
Behind him, Harry's ears heard a stirring in the bed behind him. Silently, Harry shut his trunk and slinked into bed, and drew the curtains swiftly behind him. The only indication he had ever been up was the gentle swish as they shut.

Hermione slowly came to to the sound of gushing female voices.
"He's sooo cute!" gushed a blond.
"I can't believe I'm in his house!" piped another, looking in the mirror and dusting her cheeks with a pale powder.
She bit back a groan. Here, in what she had heard was the smartest, powerful house was a pair of nattering twits discussing boys at what the clock on the wall told her was 5:50 in the morning! Hermione palmed her wand and made a show of rising. After all, it wouldn't do to be late on her first day, even if it was earlier than she had planned.
The two looked at her, then returned to their useless chatter. Hermione sighed, and went into her trunk. She opened her clothing section, quickly seeing the labels. Grabbing her uniform, she proceeded to the bathroom to change.

As Harry came down the stairs from the boy's dorm, he noticed Hermione already sitting on the couch in the common room. He smiled. It was just like her to be ready at 6:30 in the morning. She waved him over.
"Are you ready to go down now? Classes start at 8:30 and I want to get my schedule and organize my things." Hermione said, exasperated.
"Okay, okay!" Harry agreed, already moving to the door.
"Ladies first," he courteously said as he held the door.
Hermione giggled.
The pair both missed the sighs that this caused.
