Here's the new stuff!
Yumi's lips pressed together into a thin line. She quickly put a fake smile on and stated, "That's ridiculous William. Of course Nikolai is yours." Beads of sweat started to from on her forehead. William had an almost dark look on his face. He traced his finger along her jaw line to bring her to look him in the eyes.
"Oh Yumi, how dumb do you think I am? I know that baby isn't mine, and if I had to guess I'd say it is probably this guy's." William pulled the pictures of Yerik, Yumi, and Hiroki at the cemetery. He placed the pictures on the cutting board. He grabbed the knife and stabbed into Yerik's face. Yumi jumped at his violence.
"So Yumi, am I right? Is he Nikolai's father?" He growled.
"N-no he isn't the father. We were friends when we were younger. Nikolai saved Hiroki's life and to honor him I decided that's what we would name our baby."
"Don't call him 'our' baby!" William snapped.
He picked the knife up again and started to head towards the living room. Yumi realized what he was about to do and grabbed William from behind. William took his free hand and grabbed Yumi's hair. He yanked it hard and smashed her head into the wall. He brought the knife to her throat and Yumi looked into his eyes. All she saw was emotionless eyes staring back at her.
"It's either you or the kid, and I love you so the kid must go." He let go of her and started his way back to the living room.
"William don't! That's my baby! That's my baby!" She wailed.
As if on cue, Nikolai started cooing and giggling. His eyes were open wide with a bright toothless smile on his face. William scooped him up and placed the knife right under the baby's chin. Yumi started praying right then and there that someone would save her child. As if her prayers were answered, Hiroki, walked into the house.
"Hey, sis what's going—" Hiroki shut his mouth when he saw the tear stained face of his sister. He heard his nephew cooing in the corner and turned to see a crazed William about to kill his infant.
"What the hell are you doing?" Hiroki ran to the corner and grabbed Nikolai.
"He's not my child." William answered as if it was obvious. He started to walk towards Hiroki. Hiroki ran to give the baby to Yumi and breathed run towards her. She went out the back door and left Hiroki alone with William. William lunged towards Hiroki.
"Mr. Volkov, can you hear me?" A deep voice asked.
"Mr. Stern, he is still drowsy. It may take a few hours before he will become more lucid for questions." The nurse informed him.
"Ugh…" Yerik grumbled. His eyes were still trying to get used to the light.
Mr. and Mrs. Stern were setting next to him with Mrs. Stern holding his hand.
"Ulrich…" He mumbled again.
"Don't worry, he will be fine as soon as you explain to us why you went to Japan." Mr. Stern answered.
"My brother…" Yerik took deep gulps of air before continuing.
"My brother is buried in Japan." His throat felt raw, and his vision blurry.
Mrs. Stern gasped and held his hand tighter. Mr. Stern pulled out his cell phone and walked out into the hall. Yerik's head tilted to the side so he could look at Annette. She helped him drink some water to help with the rawness in his throat.
"Why did you say Yumi's name?" She pressed on.
"She was there. I remember William accusing me of being her baby's father… I'm not the father, but I know who is."
"What!" She screeched. The young man's eyes started slipping back into his head. She quietly slipped out of the room to find her husband on the phone with Ulrich.
"His brother was there. No. Ulrich would you just. Fine." Tobias spat the word before angrily shutting the phone.
"He won't come down here and apologize."
"We might have bigger problems than that." Annette replied.
"What now?"
"Yumi has a baby. The only one besides her who knows who the father is, is passed out."
Tobias pinched the bridge of his nose, "what do we do?"
"I think it's past time to talk to Miss Ishyama."
Hiroki was breathing heavily in the corner of his sister's house, William long gone. The blade stuck out of his stomach, and he started coughing hard. His father Takeo, walked into the house holding his family's Kitana.
"Hiroki?" Takeo called out.
"Over… here…"
"Oh my god! Hiroki!" Takeo quickly pulled out his cell phone and telephoned 911. After giving them the information, he put them on speaker and held his son's hand.
"It's alright son. You're going to be fine." Takeo said.
"Dad, you think Nikolai forgave me when he ran into the road to save me?"
Tears were falling down Takeo's face now. "Of course son, I think he forgave you the day he passed. He was finally able to return to his family."
Hiroki smiled at his dad before whispering, "I'll let you know if he did."
Takeo's smile faltered when he realized what Hiroki just said. Hiroki's eyes rolled back in his head and the sound of his last breath was heard.
"No, no, no, no, no, where's the paramedics! Hiroki! My boy come back, come back!" The man sobbed.
William walked into the Yazuki Clan Headquarters soaked in blood. One of the grunts ran to get the boss.
"What the hell happened?" Tao asked incredulous.
"Ishyama, who did this to you!" Tao continued not waiting for a reply.
"It doesn't matter. The cops are going to be coming for me soon. I need out of the country."
"Where do you have in mind?"
"Germany."
The Sterns got off their plane in Japan and got into the limousine waiting for them. They quickly headed to Miss Ishyama's house. What they saw when they arrived had them speechless. An ambulance was outside the house with several police cars parked around the block. A rotund man with glasses had blood on his hands and shirt.
"Stay in the car Annette." Tobias commanded. He walked up to the steps where an officer stopped him.
"This is a crime scene investigation. You may not pass." The young officer said.
"Takeo, is that you?" Mr. Stern called, completely ignoring the officer. Takeo looked over and saw his old friend. He finished his chat with the officer and headed down to Tobias. Takeo hugged his arms around his stomach.
"What the hell happened here?" Mr. Stern asked, while taking off his jacket. He handed it to the sad man.
"William… killed my son…" Mr. Ishyama sounded so hollow. Mr. Stern gasped at the news.
"Oh, Takeo, I'm so sorry." Was all that Mr. Stern could choke out.
"Not to be rude, but why are you here?" He said trying to change the subject.
"I needed to talk to your daughter, but I believe that can wait." Tobias scribbled on a piece of paper before handing it to him.
"When you are ready, we are staying at this hotel. But please take all the time you need."
"What is the matter you wish to speak to Yumi about?"
"Her son. We have reason to believe that Mr. Dunbar is not the father. If that is the case we need to know who."
"You think Ulrich is the father of my grandchild?"
"We do."
"Tobias, I hope to God you are right." With that he walked away.
