Part 2
Remus was walking through the Gryffindor common room when he heard Marlene McKinnon talking to Lily Evans about something he knew concerned them.
"And I walked into their dorm. Potter is lying on the floor laughing his arse off for Merlin knows what and there is this girl wearing this ugly skirt..."
"Maaarrrrr," exclaimed Remus.
Marlene looked away from Lily to look at Remus in a mixture of surprise and shock.
"I was looking all over for you," drawled Remus.
Marlene raised her perfectly arched eyebrow and asked "For me?"
"Yupp."
"Why?" she asked sceptically.
"Uhhhh...yeah I thought…we could… we could do Ancient Runes together."
"Remus, I don't take Ancient Runes."
Remus mentally slapped himself and thought of a new excuse.
"Yes. Yes," he recited "Yes, of course I knew that. I thought you would like to learn with me. You always want to learn new things, so this would be…would be fun."
"Remus, are you alright?" Lily asked.
"Me? Yep. I'm fine. Fine. Just fine. Never been better."
The girls looked at each other and then looked at him like he had gone bonkers.
"Well, actually, I sort of needed your help for something else."
"Something else?"
"Yeah, I like someone. I need your help to ask her out."
"Okay, I'll help you, but why did you lie about it?"
"I was shy."
Marlene looked at him incredulously and Lily tried to make him more comfortable "Who is it?"
"Dorea."
"Middleton?"
Remus nodded.
The girls grinned at each other and then told Remus to sit down as they discussed a day for him to ask her out. Remus cursed his bad luck, why did it have to be him in that common room? He resigned himself to his fate and listened as the girls went on.
When Marlene walked into the great hall, she sat down opposite Remus, in between Lily and Sirius. She jerked her thumb in the direction of a slightly plump girl with raven coloured curly hair and winked. Remus blushed slightly and averted his gaze.
"So Remus, what's the plan?"
At this, James choked on his eggs and Peter spilled water over himself. Remus whacked James on his back while Sirius helped Peter out. Lily looked a bit mortified by the sudden outbreak but decided not to comment.
"No plan,really," said Remus calmly.
"You can tell us."
"Tell them what, Moony?" asked Sirius trying to sound casual.
"About Dorea," said Lily plainly.
"The Hufflepuff?" asked Sirius.
"Yeah. Remus has a little crush," teased Lily.
"How come you didn't tell us? And anyway, why her? She's ugly," stated Sirius.
"You bloody prat," said Marlene while pouring orange juice on him. "Everything isn't about how someone looks." She threw her toast on him. "Sometimes you have to look deeper." She emptied her marmalade on his head. "You love someone for who they are, not how they look," she finished.
She whacked his shoulder with a book and let out finally "Not that you would know anything about it."
Marlene tossed her head back, her hair bouncing behind her, her gentle curves obvious in her school robes as she stormed away.
"What was that all about?" yelled Sirius who was covered in all sorts of food.
"You know bloody well."
"I don't. Why don't you enlighten me?"
"Sod off."
"Why did you throw all of that and yell at me?"
"You're an arse."
"I know. But why?"
"You're an oblivious arse."
"Marles?"
"Don't call me that, you prat," she roared.
"Black, take your hands off me. Go put them on her."
"Who?" asked Sirius confusedly.
"Gizelle," spat Marlene.
When Sirius heard this, he controlled himself for a while, before breaking into a grin and then laughing loudly, his laugh booming in the empty corridor. She looked at him with disgust and ran off, him following her.
"Marlene! Marlene!"
"Go away."
"Oh come on, don't be like that."
"Like what? Is it bad that I don't want you to see other girls? Is it bad that I might actually feel possessive once in a while? I know you're not into the whole commitment thing, but sometimes I wish we could be like a normal couple."
"Marl, there is no other girl."
"Don't lie to me. I saw her. She had long black hair and she was wearing this -"
"That was me."
"-Green and pink….what?"
"Me."
"You?"
Sirius nodded and explained to her in brief the whole plan. At the end of it, she was rolling on the floor laughing clutching her sides as she imagined the hairless legs of the supposed girl she shad seen.
"But you were….you had kohl…..and lipstick" she spoke between bouts of laughter.
Sirius glared at her.
"Well, Black, I must say, you have a disgusting fashion sense."
Sirius grinned "You love me anyway."
"I don't."
"Well somebody seemed a bit jealous. In fact, I would go so far as to say, she wished we would be a normal couple and that she is possessive of me…."
"Shut up and kiss me, Black."
"Yes Ma'am."
A/N: This is going to be longer than I originally planned. This chapter was more of a filler, so that one girl could be in on the plan. Also, I love Blackinnon and someone requested it. So, here you go. Thanks for all your reviews. I would give you your bunnies if you hadn't all been guests. How do I PM you? Well bunnies won't post on stories, so here is a sideways monkey, (8(I).
Reviews are amazing, constructive criticism and critical reviews are appreciated and I guess FLAME is inevitable.
