BOOK 1
ARC 1
Naruto ran to the forest the big scroll in his hand. He used small bursts of chakra, enough to give him a boost to his normally fast speed, but not enough for a person to trace it. After a while, he came to a clearing where he sat down and opened the scroll. Naruto had stolen it from the Hokage residence, which had high-level security from the Anbu members. Despite that, Naruto had sneaked into the residence and taken the scroll of seals, because it was called that, and ran outside for the forest because he knew that by this time the alarms would have been raised.
The first jutsu that Naruto found was the Multiple Shadow Clone Jutsu or simply called Shadow Clone Jutsu. The jutsu created copies of a person which were corporeal instead of simple illusions, each one of them with their own chakra systems. The clones made by this jutsu could attack and move with their own mind and were dispersed when hit with a strong attack, on their own will or at the user's will, though the middle one happened really rarely. Even the three magnificent dōjutsu couldn't distinguish between them except if they had enough proficiency. The clones could even perform different types of jutsu because of their own chakra reserves. It was a Jōnin level jutsu because of the high tax it had on the chakra, but Naruto knew himself very well to know that he had a lot of Chakra.
Naruto formed the clone hand seal and said, "Shadow Clone Jutsu." In an instant, two shadow clones popped into existence. To check if the scroll was correct he poked them on the belly and found them to be surprisingly real. Naruto had half-expected them to be fakes. He looked into the scroll to see who had made this technique. He was surprised to find the name.
"Damn. The Nidaime Hokage sure created a powerful technique over here." Naruto thought as he dispelled the shadow clones.
Meanwhile, in front of the Hokage mansion, several Chūnin and Jōnin had gathered.
"Lord Hokage, this has gone too far. This is not a prank." One of the shouted.
"That scroll contains secrets that were sealed by the first Hokage. Secrets that are known only to our village." Another shouted.
"If that scroll falls into the wrong hands it can destroy our way of life." Another said.
At the same time, the third Hokage's mind was running amuck. "Why have you done this Naruto? These people in front of me want your blood. What has caused you to do this? What drove you to steal the scroll of seals? I don't want to do this Naruto but I have to."
"Alright. Find Naruto at once and bring him here." The Hokage said dismissing the lot of them. As the Chūnin and Jōnin went Kakashi and Harumi came into view. The Hokage had already sensed them and had motioned them forward with his hand. "Find Naruto, but observe him from far away. I want you to find out what he has learned from the scroll and how much of it he can perform. The two of them nodded and went out at once, running at high speeds to find Naruto.
"Congratulations, Naruto." Naruto heard. He looked up to see Mizuki-sensei with two Fūma Shuriken tied on his back.
"Hey, Mizuki-sensei. Thanks for the scroll. I've already mastered the Multiple Shadow Clone Jutsu. Now I can show Iruka-sensei that I too can perform a Clone Jutsu." Naruto told him happily.
"What! How could that brat already master an A-rank jutsu? It takes a lot of Chakra that a Genin couldn't possess." Mizuki thought as he outwardly smiled at Naruto. "Really now Naruto. That is fantastic. Now can you do something for me."
"Of course Mizuki-sensei. What is it?" Naruto asked him. Mizuki-sensei took out one of his Fūma Shuriken and spun it on his hand. Naruto understood what was going to happen and he paled but showed no emotion outside on his face.
"DIE!" Mizuki-sensei screamed as he threw the Fūma Shuriken.
"GET DOWN NARUTO!" Another voice screamed and Naruto got down. Naruto heard a squelch and he looked up to see Iruka-sensei above him. Iruka-sensei gasped at the piercing, some of the blood falling on Naruto's face. Naruto also heard the traitor Mizuki gasp, not thinking that Iruka-sensei could come in the middle.
"W-Why?" Naruto asked confused that Iruka-sensei was willing to lay down his life for him.
"Because we're the same. When I lost my parents, no one seemed to care for me. They didn't have time to care for me. My grades dropped and I became the class clown. I wanted them to see me. To know my name, so I did foolish things and then I paid for it. It was a hard life for me. I know that's how you feel Naruto. I let you down and I'm sorry. No one should have to suffer that much. But you have become a promising student Naruto. You fight yesterday was nothing short of impressive and I am very very proud of you." Iruka-sensei was crying and he could not help and he cried too at the story of his life. "Right now I want you to run Naruto. Run away from Mizuki and let me handle him." Iruka-sensei told him. Naruto nodded and took off in the forest at full speed.
"It's pitiful Iruka, how you are protecting the very beast that took the life of your family." Mizuki taunted Iruka. Iruka stood up and took the Fūma Shuriken out of his back and threw it at Mizuki. Mizuki just side-stepped it and smirked at Iruka. "You are nothing compared to me Iruka. I will kill the demon and then I will use the scroll for myself." Mizuki told Iruka as he kicked him on his back and took off after Naruto.
Naruto not being able to see Mizuki behind him stopped and looked around. Very soon he saw Mizuki, in the disguise of Iruka-sensei. Naruto through Kunai and Shuriken at the incoming traitor and flew through hand seals and muttered, "Wind Style: Gale Palm." The speed of the Kunai and Shuriken increased dramatically. Mizuki just dodged them proving to be faster than the Kunai and shuriken that were coming at him.
"Naruto, why are you doing this. Just give the scroll and we can go to the Hokage. I'm sure that he will pardon you." Mizuki said in Iruka-sensei's voice.
"You will just have to catch me Iruka-sensei," Naruto said as he took off at high speeds. Mizuki growled at the boy and took off after him. Naruto laughed as he moved through the trees but a twig came between his leg and he fell down on the clearing below landing on his face as blood trickled down onto his face. Mizuki followed Naruto to the clearing and stood a good 10 feet away from him. He did not want to be near the demon so he had decided to kill him using his Fūma Shuriken.
"You know Naruto, for all your speed you are going to fall down if you don't pay attention to your surroundings," Mizuki said.
"You know you should drop the act Mizuki. I knew it was you since the time you appeared in front of me wearing Iruka-sensei's face." Naruto growled at the traitor.
"H-How did you know it was me?" Mizuki asked a little shaken.
"Your chakra is way too tumultuous than Iruka-sensei's," Naruto answered him as he stood up.
"You are a sensor type?" Mizuki asked.
"Yup. Kakashi-sensei told me that." Naruto told Mizuki. "Now that that is out of the way, I want to ask. Why are you so hell-bent on killing me?"
"WHY? DID YOU JUST ASK ME WHY?" Mizuki shouted at him. "You are the demon. Why do you think people look at you with fear in their eyes. Why they don't want their children to play with you? Why that on your birthday, on October 10 that you are beaten and assaulted. Why the Yondaime died on your birthday. IT IS FUCKING SIMPLE. YOU ARE THE NINE TAILED FOX. YOU ARE THE DEMON IN HUMAN FORM. YOU ARE CHAOS AND DESTRUCTION, HATE AND PAIN. YOU WERE A KILLER SINCE THE DAY THE YOU BECAME THE KYŪBI NO YŌKO." Mizuki shouted at Naruto.
Naruto for his part remained silent as he processed this information. "He was the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox. He had read in the History books that the Yondaime Hokage had killed the Kyūbi but he had also read that a Bijū could not be killed. But what Mizuki had said did explain the hatred of the citizens of Konohagakure. They wanted him killed because they believed that he was the reincarnation of the Nine-Tailed Fox. They wanted to taste his blood and wanted to mount his head on a spike."
Naruto was hyperventilating and didn't even see Mizuki performing hand seals and notice Mizuki, who shouted, "Earth Style: Mountain Jutsu."
Out of instinct, Naruto ran forward, the two mountains colliding a millisecond after his short run, and fell on the ground as pain raced through his ankles. Naruto felt something weaken and felt a rush of power within him. "What is that power?" Naruto thought to himself.
"H-How did you dodge it. I swear that I saw you being crushed." Mizuki sensei told Naruto, his voice laced with fear. Naruto looked up, a bloody grin forming on his face.
"I was fast enough to create an afterimage. I have never been able to do that." Naruto thought, awe and wonder filling his mind. "Fuck it! It should be enough to defeat Mizuki." Suddenly a nintaijutsu came to his mind, one that he was unfamiliar with. He flew through the Brid, Snake, Tiger and Dragon seals and muttered, "Swift Release: Namikaze Barrage Attack."
Naruto then moved at high speeds, afterimages forming after him as he kicked Mizuki straight up in the air. Naruto kept on kicking him, both of them reaching high into the air when he stopped and as Mizuki started to fall he executed a back-flip in mid-air and kicked Mizuki on his back, sending him to the ground rushing at great speeds.
Meanwhile, the Hokage watched this spectacle. "The seals must have weakened enough for him to execute such a move. This could prove troublesome."
Mizuki crashed into the ground, his nose and jaw were broken with blood running in the mud below him. Mizuki's ribs were broken along with his thigh bone sticking out of him. Naruto, however, landed softly on the ground and looked at the broken and battered Mizuki. He felt pity for the guy but to think that he had used him as a scapegoat sent his blood boiling
He used the Clone Hand Seal and said, "Shadow Clone Jutsu." Thousands of clones popped into existence for the extra effect. "You touch my sensei again, and I'll kill you." All the Naruto's growled. After that, Naruto erased the clones except for one. Naruto told the clone to pick up Mizuki so that he could be delivered to the Hokage, while he himself went after Iruka-sensei after tying the scroll to his back. Naruto found Iruka-sensei badly stabbed and picked him up as he ran, faster than yesterday and slower than a few minutes ago.
Naruto was walking back to his apartment with Kakashi-sensei behind him. Naruto remembered his conversation with Hokage.
"Naruto come here, child." The Hokage said as he appeared in front of him. Naruto kept Mizuki in front of the Hokage and Iruka-sensei too.
"Mizuki told me that the Scroll of Seals would help me get stronger and I would be able to perform the Clone Jutsu better. Iruka-sensei needs medical attention. He came in front of a Fūma Shuriken that was meant for me." Naruto explained to the Hokage. The Hokage nodded and called forth two Chūnin.
"Take Mizuki and Iruka to the hospital. Guard Mizuki and after he has been healed take him to the prison." The Hokage told the Chūnin. The two Chūnin picked the two men and took them to the hospital. "Naruto come with me." The Hokage told to Naruto. They then went inside the Hokage mansion.
"Do I really have the Nine-Tailed Fox within me?" Naruto asked Sarutobi.
Sarutobi sighed and answered, "Yes. The Yondaime sealed it within you."
Naruto went into shock. "The Yondaime had sealed the Fox inside me. He is my favourite Hokage and he made my life hell. WHY? WHY ME!" Naruto shouted within his mind.
The Sandaime, as if reading the young child's mind answered, "The Yondaime believed that you could tame the Nine-Tailed Fox and defeat the person who caused the attack. He gave you power and wanted the citizens to remember you as a hero, but the citizens ignored the fact and treated you like dirt. I forbid anyone of speaking that you were a Jinchūriki, but they treated you with contempt." Sarutobi looked at Naruto's face, who was crying. "I am very sorry Naruto, for all the pain that I have caused you.
"It's okay old man," Naruto said as he smiled and wiped away his tears. "The Yondaime gave me the power to achieve my dreams and defeat the man who caused the attack on Konoha. I will prove it to everybody that Naruto is no man to mess with." Naruto said enthusiastically.
"Yes. Yes. By the way, what was the jutsu that you used to defeat Mizuki?" The Sandamine asked Naruto.
"Oh! You see Mizuki used the Mountain Jutsu but I ran away from it creating my first afterimage. After that, my ankles were hurting and I felt a rush of power and a nintaijutsu came into my mind I just used it and BAM! Mizuki was down." Naruto told him excitedly.
"Do you remember the name of the nintaijutsu?" Sarutobi asked.
"Of Course I know about it. I did perform it, but this is now my special jutsu so I won't tell anybody." Naruto thought. "Um…. thinking about it I don't remember. I think it was my subconscious mind relaying something to me that I might have seen." Naruto lied to the Third Hokage.
"Alright. You can go now Naruto." The Third Hokage told Naruto. Naruto instead asked him a question.
"Hey Old Man, can you please give the access to the Shinobi Library, Hokage section too. I mean if something like this happens again that I would have to be prepared right." Naruto asked him making puppy dog eyes. The Hokage, like Kakashi-sensei and Rin-sensei, had fallen prey to the eyes and gave him the card that could access to the Hokage section.
"Use it well Naruto. And look into Fūinjutsu. I think you might have a knack for it." Sarutobi told him. Naruto nodded like the sometimes hyperactive child he was and ran outside bumping into Kakashi.
The Next Day,
Naruto walked up to his class in the academy, scrolls on Fūinjutsu and Ninjutsu in his bag. He was wearing his traditional attire of an orange and blue tracksuit with blue sandals and kunai and shuriken pouch on his right thigh and his forehead protector on his forehead and bag slung around his shoulders. He had gone to the to the registration place where they had taken his photograph and had made his identity card identifying him as a Genin level ninja. After that, the Grandson of the third had come and demanded that he recognise him as the Hokage of the village. Naruto, who had one true dream of being Hokage had hit him hard on his head, not caring that he was the grandson of the Third. His name was Konohamaru and his trainer was the Jōnin, Ebisu. Naruto and Konohamaru had then become quick friends, ditching Ebisu they had walked till his home, during which Naruto had given him advice, that to become a Hokage there is no easy way. Konohamaru had taken it seriously and had thanked Naruto after which Naruto went to pick up scrolls from the shinobi library.
At first, when the librarian had seen him she had screeched at him, but now he knew why, so he just told her that he had the Hokage's express permission to go in the Hokage section to take out scrolls on Fūinjutsu and Ninjutsu and anything else he desired. The librarian had agreed immediately after seeing the card and did not bother him after that.
Now Naruto was in the class and saw an empty seat beside Hinata Hyūga. Naruto went and sat beside her and greeted her, "Hey, Hinata-chan." Hinata had her clans famous Byakugan eyes, which were pure white. She had blue-black hair that she kept in a hime-cut, with chin-length strands framing her face. She wore a cream coloured jacket with the Hyūga symbol on the back and a fire symbol on her upper sleeves and fur on her sleeves. She wore her forehead protector around her neck and her kunai and shuriken pouch on her right thigh.
Hinata meanwhile was in shock, "Naruto-kun is sitting beside me. He is so cute." Hinata thought. Hinata had a great crush on Naruto ever since Naruto had saved her from bullies who had teased her about her Byakugan eyes. "H-Hii... N-Naruto-k-kun." Hinata stuttered.
Just then Sasuke Uchiha entered the class. He was wearing his usual attire but with a Konoha forehead protector on his forehead and his Kunai and Shuriken pouch on his right leg. Sasuke came up and sat with Naruto and Hinata. "Two children of the most famous clans of Konoha and then comes Naruto who has no clan." Sasuke smiled at the thought and looked at Naruto who had opened up a scroll and was reading it. "Wait, wait, wait. Reading it. Naruto doesn't read. Naruto never reads." Sasuke thought but he saw what he saw and he was seeing it till now. "Hey, Naruto what are you reading?" Sasuke asked.
Naruto looked up and said, "Oh this! This is Fūinjutsu. I am reading the Paralysis seal right now. I can't believe it is so easy and one essentially has to only make the hand seals and strike his palm on the target's body. It will put him in a paralysis state until the person who made the seal gets exhausted and sleeps or is unconscious, when he wants to or when he stops sending chakra into it. This is one hell of a jutsu but this just the beginning." Naruto told Sasuke excitedly.
"That is an impressive Fūinjutsu. One might need it in the heat of the battle." Sasuke said.
"Yes, you see. That is why I will master this and two other Fūinjutsu before I go for a good mission." Naruto told him. Naruto then leaned in and whispered in Sasuke's ear, "You know, if you sit in the middle, then maybe I can protect you from all those fangirls."
"I don't need your protection," Sasuke whispered harshly.
"Oh yeah! Then why are you constantly glancing at the door? Are you waiting for Ino and Sakura to come?" Naruto asked.
Sasuke huffed in annoyance and growled, "Fine. Change the seat dobe."
"It's for your benefit teme," Naruto told him and changed his seat with Sasuke and started reading his Fūinjutsu scroll again. After five minutes two equally beautiful girls walked in.
One was Sakura Haruna, the other was Ino Yamanaka. "I'm first." Both of them shouted and immediately their shoulders and bodies sagged from exhaustion.
"I won again Sakura." Ino bragged.
"Oh Please! I had to look back to see you. Your toe was at least a tenth inch behind mine." Sakura told her. Sakura then started to look for Sasuke and ultimately found him sitting with Naruto and Hinata. Jealousy shot through Sakura at seeing Sasuke so close Hinata but she crushed it down knowing that Sasuke couldn't like a person like Hinata who was meek and timid. Sakura walked towards Sasuke to be greeted by Naruto.
"Hey Sakura-chan." Naruto greeted her as he stood up. Sakura instead of greeting Naruto back pushed him back as he fell behind her.
"Uhh… You dobe. You were supposed to help me not get thrashed by a fangirl." Sasuke thought.
"Naruto-kun, I hope you are alright." Hinata thought.
"Good Morning Sasuke-kun. Can I please sit with you?" Sakura asked Sasuke, a pretty blush forming on her cheeks. Sasuke just gave her a blank stare before he looked back to the desk.
"What the fuck Naruto. Why the fuck did you get up you dobe." Sasuke thought.
Just then Ino came and hollered at Sakura, "BACK OFF FOREHEAD. I AM SITTING NEXT TO SASUKE."
"I was here first," Sakura said gritting her teeth.
"I walked into the classroom before you did," Ino said.
"Dream on," Sakura said, dismissing Ino claims.
"Actually I came in class first." Another girl came and shouted.
"So did I. I'm sitting next to Sasuke."
"No, I am." And then more and more girls began joining the conversation and the shouting increased.
"What clueless people. Don't they get it? I am not interested in fangirls." Sasuke thought.
Meanwhile, all the Jōnin who were going to head teams had come into the Hokage office. They were all watching the class through the spyball that the Hokage had kept.
"Sasuke Uchiha. The most promising new student." Kakashi said.
"Yes. The only person left from the Uchiha Clan downfall." The Third Hokage said. The spyball then hovered over to the group where a blonde boy was down and rubbing his head.
"Naruto. I swear that boy is stronger than the Uchiha but can't control his chakra properly even with the tree walking exercise." Kakashi told him.
"He does have more chakra than Sasuke Uchiha." The Third added.
Back at the class, Naruto had had enough. He used his speed and sat in his chair. "You know ladies, this seat has already been occupied by me. That means you all can't sit next to you precious Sasuke." Naruto shouted over to them.
"H-How did you get there?" Ino asked Naruto.
"I walked," Naruto said, picking up his Fūinjutsu scroll and reading it. A tick mark appeared on Sakura's head and she shouted.
"I DIDN'T EVEN SEE YOU WALKING!" Sakura shouted.
"Then that means I am faster than your eye can comprehend, and that means I walk faster than you run," Naruto said calmly.
"I bet Sasuke-kun saw you. After all, you can't be faster than him." Ino told him. Naruto looked up to see a tick mark on her face too.
"Oh no!" Naruto said and waited for a dramatic effect and said, "I am faster than he is. Much, much faster."
"I'LL SHOW YOU WHO IS FASTER!" Sakura shouted and reared back a fist but before she could hit Naruto he appeared behind her and caught her fist, his afterimage dissolving in front of the eyes of the whole class.
"It's no point Sakura-chan. Nobody in this whole class can match me in speed and stamina." Naruto said flashing a cocky grin. The whole class looked at him with wide eyes, not believing what they had seen.
Sakura slowly turned around, her knees shaking at what she had seen. "H-H-How d-did you d-d-do it?" Sakura stammered. "You w-were t-there and then, then you were here."
"They are called afterimages. When a person moves very very fast they create mirages, of a sort, that people believe that they are here and there. There can be more than two afterimages. It can confuse a person easily." Naruto answered as he walked, genuinely, and sat back at his seat. "Now please, I think Iruka-sensei could come and we should all sit down on our seats," Naruto told them. The girls nodded their head took their seats.
Meanwhile, the Jōnin with the Hokage looked at the classroom in shock, more particularly at Naruto.
"That boy can create afterimages?" Kurenai asked. "How is that possible?"
"That boy may is faster than most Chūnin." Asuma told the group.
"Well, all of you know your groups. Don't be late, especially you Kakashi." The Third said in a firm voice.
"Hai." They said and they dispersed.
Back at the class, Iruka-sensei had already come. "Alright now all of you are ninjas. To get here you have faced difficult trials and hardships." Iruka-sensei said. Naruto closed his ears for the speech and started reading his Fūinjutsu scroll.
"Right now you are only Genin. All Genin are assembled into three-man squads who are led by a Jōnin." The three-man squad part cough the interest of Naruto, Ino and Sakura.
"Well someone's gotta be in Sasuke's group. I wonder who?" Ino said, rubbing the fact in Sakura's face.
"I don't know," Sakura told Ino calmly. While Inner Sakura shouted, "Cha! I'm going to be with Sasuke so you stay away from him hag."
"Groups of three. The only person I would want in my group would be Naruto. None of them could hope to match me except him." Sasuke thought.
"I really hope Sasuke is in my group. That way both of us will continue to push each other till perfection." Naruto thought.
"I will now announce the squads," Iruka-sensei said. All of them sat forward in attention as the names were announced. After some time came Team Seven. "Team seven will consist of Naruto, Sakura Haruno and Sasuke Uchiha."
"I can work with both." Naruto thought.
"Why did Naruto have to be in my group." Sakura thought. "Hey, you Baka. Naruto is good. Did you see that speed." Inner Sakura shouted.
"Why did a fangirl have to be on my team. Well, at least it is a fangirl who can fight." Sasuke thought. "I think."
"Team eight will consist of Hinata Hyūga, Kiba Inuzuka and Shino Aburame."
"Team ten will consist of Ino Yamanaka, Shikamaru Nara and Choji Akimichi."
"Why do I have to be in the same group as them. And how did Sakura end up in Sasuke's group." Ino thought.
"Alright, you will meet your new sensei's after lunch," Iruka-sensei said as he went out of the class and the rest followed.
After lunch, all of them had come back to the class. Iruka-sensei had also come and stood near the teacher's table.
"Alright people. I will announce the Jōnin who are going to be your sensei. They will come in and receive you shortly." Iruka-sensei told them. The whole class came abuzz with the news. "Alright. Your Jōnin teachers are, Asuma Sarutobi, Kurenai Yūhi, Kakashi Hatake-"
Naruto stopped listening to the other names as soon as Kakashi-sensei's name came. "Lucky motherfucker. He is going to be one of the Jōnin leaders."
Sasuke seemed to have caught on as to which person Naruto was muttering about. "Hey, Naruto. What is so special about the Hatake guy?" Sasuke asked.
Naruto looked at him like he was crazy. "You don't know who Kakashi Hatake is?" Naruto asked. Sasuke nodded his head. "Well let me tell you a bit about him. Kakashi Hatake is a Jōnin of Konohagakure. He was a student of the Yondaime and is the only person left from the Hatake clan. He became a Chūnin at age 6 and Jōnin at age 12. He also has some quirks to him. He is very lazy and comes at least 2 hours late for any mission other than an A-rank or S-rank."
"How do you know all of this about him?" Sasuke asked him.
"Well he came to me seven months ago and since then I have become a lot stronger. Why do you think I was able to beat you the other day." Naruto told him.
"If a Jōnin like him can change a dumbass like Naruto to such a skilled ninja, then no doubt he is very good. I could learn a lot from him but the thing is that if he becomes our teacher, then Naruto will know all my jutsu's and tricks, but then again, I would know his. It will be a good challenge." Sasuke thought.
After five minutes Jōnin came and took away their teams. The Jōnin leader for Team eight was Kurenai Yūhi. Kurenai had fair skin and a slender build with long, untameable black hair that reached her back and red eyes that had an additional ring to them. She wore makeup that was a purple eyeshadow and red lipstick. Her outfit was a red mesh armour blouse with only her right sleeve visible. Overall this very broad material resembled bandages with a pattern similar to rose thorns. She also wore bandages on her arms and upper thighs and her Konoha forehead protector on her forehead.
Before Team eight went out Naruto called to Hinata, "Hey Hinata-chan, listen." Hinata stopped and turned around. "It is really good advice. If you want people to notice you, you should be a bit more proactive. In the Ninja way of life to get to the top, you need to battle and sometimes injure or kill your opponents. If you don't do that if you don't fight they won't take you seriously and treat you like a child that you are not. You are Ninja of Konohagakure." Naruto told her.
"Thank you for the advice Naruto-kun," Hinata said. It was the first time that Naruto had heard her voice properly without any stammering. It was confident and Naruto liked the immediate change. Hinata then went and joined her team as they all went.
The Jōnin leader for Team ten was Asuma Sarutobi. He was the son of the Third Hokage. He was a tall man with brown eyes, olive skin and short spiky black hair and a beard. His clothing consisted of the standard Konoha ninja uniform with the sleeves rolled up halfway, flak jacket, regular shinobi sandals and forehead protector. He also wore a sash that had the kanji for "Fire" marked on it around his waist, a pair of black bangles, and bandages wrapped around the arms of his sleeves.
He too came and took away his team. At the last, the only team left was Team seven, with Kakashi Hatake as their Jōnin leader. They kept waiting and waiting and Kakashi-sensei didn't come.
"WHERE IS HE?" Sakura screeched. Naruto and Sasuke both had to close their ears in fear that their eardrums would burst.
"Well, we could do one tidbit of thing for him," Naruto said a prankster grin formed on his face. Naruto picked up the duster and stood on the chair as he fixed the duster between the door and the wall.
"Naruto what are you doing?" Sakura asked in a pissed mood.
"I am giving him a surprise," Naruto told her.
"He is a Jōnin level ninja. You think he would fall for that." Sasuke said.
"You don't know him better than I do, do you Sasuke?" Naruto asked. Just then the door opened and the duster fell on Kakashi-sensei's head. Kakashi-sensei walked into the class.
"That was you wasn't it Naruto?" Kakashi-sensei rhetorically asked. Naruto nodded at it. "Alright meet on the rooftop in five minutes, which is also called two minutes," Kakashi-sensei said as he vanished in a wind of leaves.
As he said, Kakashi-sensei was on the rooftop in two minutes, which surprised Naruto as he thought that he would be late again. The three of them were sitting on the steps while Kakashi-sensei was leaning on the railing.
"Alright. I am Kakashi Hatake of the Clan Hatake. I will be your Team leader and sensei. Now before anything, why don't you introduce yourselves, to each other and me." Kakashi-sensei asked.
"Uhh….What do we have to say to introduce ourselves?" Sakura asked.
"They chose her because of her top grades in the test that can balance Naruto. They wanted to put Hinata, but Sarutobi shot it down because he thought that the three heirs to the most famous clans shouldn't be together, even though Naruto doesn't know about his. They chose her because of her smartness and she needs to know what to say." Kakashi thought.
"Well tell us about your hobbies, dreams, likes and dislikes, stuff like that," Kakashi told her.
"Can you first tell us about yourself so that we can get an idea?" Sakura asked.
"Alright," Kakashi-sensei said. "My name is Kakashi Hatake. Things I like and don't like….I don't feel like telling you that. My dreams for the future….Never really thought about it. As for my hobbies...I have a lot of hobbies." Kakashi-sensei said revealing virtually nothing about himself, but Naruto had a mind of his own.
"My name is Kakashi Hatake. I like to read, what I don't think it is appropriate for the ears of someone as young as you. I also like, salt-broiled saury and miso soup with eggplant and I hate anything fried or sweet. I have done 192 D-rank missions, 189 C-rank missions, 412 B-rank missions, 298 A-rank missions and 42 S-rank missions." Naruto said in Kakashi-sensei's voice.
"I knew I shouldn't have told you that," Kakashi growled. Naruto smiled at it and Kakashi gave up in front of his smile. "Alright, now that you have the idea why don't you go first Sakura," Kakashi-sensei said.
"I am Sakura Haruno. I like," She looked at Sasuke and giggled, "I mean who I like," She again giggled. "My dream for the future is," She again looked at Sasuke and blushed absurdly before hiding her face.
"Kami save me." Sasuke thought.
"Lucky guy." Naruto thought at the same time.
"And your dislikes ...?" Kakashi-sensei asked.
"NARUTO-BAKA AND INO PIG!" Sakura shouted.
"Girls her age are more interested in boys rather than ninja training. Another reason why one should have put Hinata on their team instead of Sasuke." Kakashi thought.
"Alright, Sasuke Uchiha next," Kakashi-sensei said.
"My name is Sasuke Uchiha of the Uchiha Clan. I don't like many things and I don't particularly like anything." At that Sakura's face went through shock. "What I have is not a dream, because I will make it a reality. I am going to kill a certain someone and restore my clan."
"Sasuke is so hot." Sakura thought as warmth flooded through her.
"Just as I thought." Kakashi thought.
"Now you Naruto," Kakashi-sensei said.
"Alright. My name is Naruto. I have no clan. I like Kakashi-sensei, even though he is chronically late, training and ramen. I hate bullies, arrogant pricks and three minutes it takes to make ramen. I have two dreams. One to become the greatest Hokage so that people look up to me and see something. Second to have a family." Naruto said.
"If it wasn't an S-rank secret I would have already told him about his parents and the Kyūbi." Kakashi thought to himself.
"Alright, we meet at the training ground tomorrow at 4 in the morning. And also, don't eat anything otherwise it will make everything just worse." Kakashi-sensei told them. After that, he disappeared in a wind of leaves.
"I have to tell him to teach me that," Naruto muttered.
The Next Day,
Naruto woke up at 5 in the morning, knowing that Kakashi-sensei was going to be at least 2 hours late. He yawned and stretched his muscles, popping his bones as he got up. After Naruto took care of the basic necessities he got went and took out one of his orange tracksuits. He had stayed up late and learned a few new Fūinjutsu's, specifically the Sealing Technique: Resistance Seal, the Sealing Technique: Weapons Seal and Unsealing Technique: Weapons Unseal. Naruto had applied the first one to his ankle's to reduce his speed with the weights so that he appeared slow to the opponent. The weight added to his legs was only 20 kg in which Naruto could move a bit slower than his previous speed, even though he was still fast. The other two Naruto had used to seal Kunai and Shuriken, which could be used for missions when they went outside of Konoha, which he doubted was not today's case.
Naruto put his Kunai and Shuriken in his holster and one of the Weapon scrolls in his pouch and he went off for whatever mission they were going to do. Naruto arrived at the training grounds a few minutes later, to see Sakura and Sasuke already over there, with Sakura proclaiming about Sasuke's awesomeness. Sakura was wearing her usual dress with a pink bag slung over her shoulder and Sasuke also was wearing his normal clothing with a blue bag slung over his shoulder. Only Naruto was the one who hadn't bought any bag because his scrolls were enough for him.
"Oh! Sasuke-kun you are so amazing. You were exactly here at 4 am while Kakashi-sensei and Naruto-baka asre still not here. Will you please go on a date with me?" Sakura finally asked.
"I will of course be late. I did tell you that he was chronically late, at least by two hours if it isn't a S or A-rank mission. It's your fault that you guys came early." Naruto said.
"Shut up Naruto. A ninja comes at the time he is told to come." Sakura told Naruto.
"When a ninja like Kakashi-sensei is with you, the reporting time is when he comes." Naruto told her. "After all one wouldn't want to be on the wrong side of Kakashi-sensei."
Kakashi meanwhile was sleeping soundly in the arms one Harumi. They both were lovers but nobody ever knew about it and they were alright with keeping it all quiet. Right now Kakashi was sleeping soundly with Harumi's head pressed to his chest, using it like a pillow and their naked bodies pressed together. Near the training grounds Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura were waiting not one of them making a sound. There was a silence surrounding them, only the rustling of leaves was heard. Kakashi-sensei came upon them and all of them glared at him.
"YOU'RE LATE!" Sakura screeched at him breaking the silence.
"I got lost on the path of life, Sakura. I am sorry." Kakashi-sensei told them.
"And how many times have you gotten lost on the path of life Kakashi-sensei?" Naruto thought.
"Anyways. Now that we don't have to wait anymore let us begin our survival test." Kakashi -sensei said.
"Survival test. I thought we were supposed to have a real mission, not more practice. We already did this stuff at the academy, that is how we got here." Sakura said.
"This is not an academy level survival test. You see, of the twenty-seven graduates that came here only nine will be accepted as Genin, the other eighteen will be weeded out and sent back to the academy. In other words, this is a make it or break it, pass-fail test." Kakashi-sensei said in a serious tone.
"What only nine will actually become Genin," Sakura said trembling.
"What are the odds that we pass this test?" Naruto asked.
"35% chances of passing and 65% chance of failing," Kakashi-sensei said.
"And here I thought we had a 20% chance of passing. This is much better." Naruto thought.
Kakashi-sensei then took out an alarm clock put it on the sliced trunk. "Alright, this clock is set till noon." He then took out two bells and dangled it in front of them. "All you have to do is to get these two bells from me using any means possible, even lethal force."
"When you say lethal force, we can kill you right?" Naruto asked.
"Yes you can, but why would you want to do that to precious sensei Naruto?" Kakashi-sensei asked.
"Well, months of standing up to a lazy trainer like you can do that Kakashi-sensei," Naruto said, chuckling darkly.
Kakashi stepped back, afraid of his blonde student. "Here I am giving him his father's test and there he is acting like his mother, Kushina. That is not good. Kushina in a bad mood was never good, even Minato-sensei knew that." Kakashi thought.
"Wait sensei there are only two bells. Does that mean one of us will fail?" Sakura asked.
"Yes."
"Did you forget one in your house?" She asked.
"No."
"But-" She started saying but she cut off by Sasuke.
"Sakura, he means to say that we are enemies in this test," Sasuke told her.
"Quite the contrary Sasuke. You have to behave and act like a team. They said that you three would make the ideal team but, you aren't being an ideal team." Kakashi thought.
"Well then now that there are no questions, let us begin the survival test," Kakashi-sensei said.
