My dream as a house-husband went wrong unexpectedly

After getting home, I guess it's time to live up to my dream of being a house-husband, especially now that I'm unemployed.

I decided to serve up some curry rice for me and Hitomi, simple but elegent enough for her tastes, besides I make the best curry rice in town in my totally unbiased opinion! With 2 bowls in hand, I head to the living room preparing to serve my guest lying down on the couch surrounded by her mess of study, fictional and history books.

"Here, now this dinn-err supper is worth 200 Hitomi points so eat up ok?"

This has become quite a routine for me and her, I do get home earlier after all. With hesitation in her voice she replies.

"oh umm thanks..."

she takes the bowl with gratitude and starts eating her newfound food slowly.

"Oh by the way, why so cheap?" she asks feigning interest.

"Well you get a bargain sale today courtesy of yours truly." I say puffing up my chest in arrogant pride.

"That doesn't explain why though..." It's cause it's good stress relief OK? Course, I'd rather die then tell her that lest she uses it as a weapon against her old man.

"Ehh just enjoy your meal" We continued to eat in silence barring the anime on TV. I had a friend of a friend who cosplayed as these characters in middle school believe it or not.

"Oh Auntie Komachi left a message for you, she asks if you could come round to help her move in with Kawasaki this weekend."

Blegghh gimme a break! I had a hard enough time already accepting that guy as my brother in law and now I gotta look at his smiling, disgusting face as I help my sis move in with him? I can imagine what he'd say..."Thank you Hikigaya! You were a big help!" Disgusting.

"And there's something else too..." Hitomi? She looks around unsure of what to say or how to say it. Uh-Oh...this can't be good...

" Can..Can... Tobe-san come round tomorrow."

Wait...wait...Tobe-san? The same one I'm thinking of? Back in highschool? I know Hina Ebina and that guy got married so this must be their kid...only question is...

"Boy or girl?"

"A boy dad."

"Sorry, not happening."

"How tyrannical..."

A boy in the house after my sweet Hitomi...after my dead body! She looks down with an empty look in her eyes, a blank stare. Now I suddenly feel all guilty! Ok, maybe just this once...

"Ok ok he can come around...But! No funny business! You hear!"

Man, bringing boys back home from school. Soon enough, he'll take you away just like Kawasaki took Komachi away! Now Hitomi is giving me a strange look judging by her slim eyebrows wincing in confusion. No doubt she senses my insecurities.

"You don't need to worry dad, he's not that kind of guy...Actually, he's pretty quiet so he's more in line of a beta anyway...sorta like you dad."
Guess domination over the males is a Yukinoshita trait. Either way, I'm used to it. She gives a small smile abit over her victory but I'll repay her kindness in full down the line.

"Ehh you're wrong as usual Hitomi! I'm an omega in blood and spirit."

"Here we go again."

A bond between father and daughter was never truly understood but I'll always try to understand her more and more and be the stepping stone to help her with her unknown future. I believe that was the duty of parents.

"Ok, I'll wash up. Oh and here..." I pass her a charm.

"Good luck on your exams kiddo."

She looks at the charm with fascination, she's never been much of an avid believer of gods and spirits but it's the thought that counts. Anyway, I know she'd knock the exams out of the park, obstacles never lasted along against Hikigaya's, never mind Yukinoshita's.

"Thanks dad."

And with new found pride, I walk to the kitchen to do menial housework.
