I do not own either Harry Potter or Naruto, sole right to them belongs to JK Rowling and Masashi Kishimoto.

This is my first story so there may be glaring plot holes.

I also don't have an editor, so there may be some grammar mistakes and spelling mistakes. I edited this as best as I could.

I tried to make a longer chapter but I don't think I succeeded. The next one will be longer. I will also update within a week.

BTW, thanks for the great reviews. Keep them coming.

CHAPTER 2

'I feel like I am going to die', Hari thought glaring at the scrolls in front of him. 'Why the heck am I stuck with this stupid job? Urgh!It is so troublesome.'

He had been assigned the task of making sealing scrolls. Hundreds and hundreds of scrolls. He had been at it for the past ten hours continuously without taking any breaks.

'It seems to be increasing every time I turn around. Hermione must be laughing her head off', he thought. 'What would have Ron said?' He could picture the red haired boy in his head. 'Harry mate, are you off your head? Hey, do you want go and fly around the Quidditch Pitch? It would be great practice for the next match. '

He quickly diverted his thoughts. Thinking of Ron and Hermione hurt. It seems like yesterday when they were travelling across the country to search for Voldemort's horcruxes. When the war was over, the soon-to-be eighteen year old had settled at Grimmauld Place. Hermione and Ron had gone to Australia to search for her parents. Wanting to give the couple some space, Harry did not go with him.

While he was finally settling after the war amidst the paparazzi and all the popularity, he was offered many opportunities. He was even offered a job among the aurors. There were some who even wanted him as the Minister. He was quick to crush their hopes. He was living in relative peace and he didn't want to ruin it. That was when he was attacked.

When he woke up, all he wanted was to go back home. But no matter how hard he tried he couldn't do more than a few simple spells. He tried apparating but it didn't work. He couldn't even cast the patronus charm. He soon discovered that while he lost most of his magic, he gained something else. A different kind of energy. Chakra.

It was when he was meditating on orders of Suki-baachan that he received another shock. He could control fire to an extent.

'Hmm, now I think about it, it could have been side effect of Fawkes' tears', Hari mused thinking of the beautiful fire bird who rescued him from the Basilisk's poison. 'Anyway, I am glad I have it. There was no way I would have survived without it. All those missing-nin would have been able to kill me. That crazy guy with the five hearts was almost able to.'

He was now competent with the skill but hasn't revealed it to the Hokage yet. Somehow his skills with fire had managed to stay under the radar and he wanted to keep it so. He had already received enough attention due to his position as a seal master. He certainly didn't want more.

'While I am grateful to the Hokage for taking me in, I sure don't want to reveal all my secrets. With people like Danzo around, that is just inviting trouble', he thought.

He had been summoned to appear before the civilian council and the elders a few days after he had submitted his request to adopt Naruto. The elders were particularly adamant in questioning him. When the attempts to court Hari to his side failed, Danzo delivered subtle threats and insinuations. The councilors were also open in their contempt of Naruto. The situation would have escalated if the Hokage hadn't shown up. He was furious at the council members but also rather pleased at Hari's defense of Naruto. This incident had cemented his opinion of the council.

'It is just as corrupt and foul as the ministry back home. Just like they were condemning me for telling the truth about Voldemort, Naruto is even more hated by them. Why do people have to be such fools?'

"Ha! I'm done. I didn't even notice", exclaimed Hari doing a little happy dance before looking around to see if anyone had seen. Unfortunately for him, someone did. It was Gai.

"YOSH! YOUR SPRINGTIME OF YOUTH IS SO GREAT. TO KEEP UP WITH YOUR SPRINGTIME OF YOUTH,I WILL RUN A LAP AROUND KONOHA. IF I FAIL,I WILL COMPLETE TWO LAPS ON MY HANDS AROUND THE HOKAGE HILL AND IF I FAIL AGAIN…"

Hari shut him off. Ever since he became friends with the green spandex wearing jounin, he was subjected to his daily bouts of 'springtime of youth'.

"So what do you think, Hari-san?",Gai asked with a huge grin, his face close to Hari's.

"Did his teeth sparkle? And was his eyebrows moving?", Hari pondered before shaking himself off his thoughts.

"Did you say something, Gai-san?", he asked.

"YOU ARE SO HIP,JUST LIKE MY RIVAL KAKASHI", Gai cried with anime tears falling off his face.

"Gai-san, you were saying…?"

"YOSH, I want to introduce you to Kakashi. He is back from a super secret mission. I know you haven't met him. So would you like too? If you aren't too busy, that is?" Gai asked with a hopeful expression on his face.

"Sure, let me just deliver this scrolls to the Hokage", Hari said sealing the scrolls within a seal. "Besides, I don't have anything else to do. Today is not one of the days I volunteer at the orphanage. Also Naru-chan is at the academy right now."

Hari closed the door behind him and started walking along the stone paved path towards the Hokage tower.

"How is he doing at the academy?", Gai said quickly falling in step with him.

"Pretty good. Though there are complaints about 'boring' history and rivals", Hari said with a fond smile on his face."Can you believe, he already has a crush on one of the girls in his class? Some Sakura Haruno. I hear she is a civilian and also quite smart. Now all I hear is how smart Sakura is, how pretty she is and the like. Puppy love is quite amusing, isn't it?"

By this time, they had already reached the tower. Hari's workshop/apartment was close to the tower. The secretary ushered him in after he stated his purpose.

"Ah! Hari-san. Did you need something else for making the scrolls?", the Hokage asked with a smile on his face.

"No. I just came to deliver the scrolls, Hokage-sama. I finished them", Hari said.

"You already finished them? That was your work for the week!", the Hokage exclaimed with a stunned look on his face. "There must have been at least several hundred scrolls. Well, the anbu commander is going to be very happy "

"I must have misunderstood. To think I could have spent all that time doing something else..", Hari cried comically in his head.

"Well, here is your pay with some bonus for doing a quick work", the Hokage said handing him a thick wad of ryo. "By the way, how is Naru-chan doing? I haven't seen a hide of him since he started the academy. Tell him to visit me sometimes, will you?"

"He is doing fine, Hokage-sama. He is very excited. I will convey your message", Hari bowed to the kage and then left.

"Come on, Gai-san. Let's go and meet your friend", he said before vacating the tower with his friend.

"What do you think, Jiraiya?", asked the Hokage to his student.

A white haired man stepped out of the shadows.

"So that's him, huh?.The young seal master who has taken an interest in my godson. The one trained by an Uzumaki. He seems interesting…"
