I missed this though, I was trying to bargin with my mother to let me on the new laptop but she banned all her children casue my brother (who is four years older than me and should know how not to break a computer) gave it about 70000000000 viruses by downloading music off dogy ass websites and watching... stuff, you can pretty much guess. ugh.

so, I'm writing in food tec, cause I'm a well behaved student... (I really am I swear I'm predected straight A's)

I beg you all havent forgoten about this cause I have still been writing it at school even when I thought this was blocked. yeah. so, I dont own fairy tale and pleaassee reveiw!

When I was ten years old I started exams. I know, I know, early right? But I am what they call a nerd, a geek, a social reject. And so all I knew was math, English, science and a few alternate bits and bobs I found engrossing, like how Winston Churchill was born in the toilets of a girls dance and how The Mona Lisa has no eyebrows since it was the fashion in Renaissance Florence to shave them off. Yeah, I was a unusual child with a curious brain, my mother actually took me to a psychologist once, they found nothing weird about me though.

And with exams comes stress, it's a well-known fact around the world. So I needed a way to compose myself and I didn't really have any friends to talk to about the pressure, so instead I just found a hide out so I could be away from my family's nagging.

The place I found was right by the path of the canal, it was a square section which had a worn out bench that appeared that it would succumb to rot and age at any second, though, it has last for all the years since I found it. By now trees always draped over it like a protective blanket, and because of the drooping of old age the branches touched the ground and hid my hiding place from any passers-by. Leaves were always the natural carpet, even in the summer they were covered in gold.

It was years until anyone actually found my little hide out, I thought I could of even lived there if I wanted to, but in all honesty even though my house is a dump it's my home and that's all I need. The area was filled with all of my books, big and small, old and new. Quite a lot of them are covered in disintegrating leaves tinted yellow. Bright stripes of light penetrate the gaps of the immortal leaves on the drooping branches, they were that sort of tree that never loss their leaves, so in the winter I had to make sure that when I made my way through the crystal covered leafs so that I don't crack them.

It's winter now, actually, I am wrapped in about three different hoodies reading something I haven't looked at in about twenty years… even though I haven't even lived that long. Well you get my point, I haven't read it in a long time. It's called fairy tale, it's about wizards and guilds and I used to read is every day as a six year old even though it's about 700 pages long with 30 books in the series.

And of course I'm by myself.

Well, I thought I was, but no, when I tore my gaze from the crumbled pages of my book and I didn't only see the silvers and green of the woods in winter, but magenta clouded my eye sight as well. There was a boy staring at me, looking… interested? Why? I shouldn't even of been wondering that, but what the hell that kid was doing in my hide out. Why he was staring at me. Why I hadn't knottiest him. But no, I was wondering why he was interested in my boring ass.

But to be honest I felt like I knew him already, weird since I don't really know anybody.

After the few minutes of staring at the boy I bundled the courage to speak -"Hello?" the words leave my mouth in the form of a question, I am defiantly not the most social person in the word I don't intend to cover it up because that makes me sound a lot more awkward.

His face doesn't change. "sup."

"…who are you?"

He leans back and places the heels of his hand into the pile of leaves behind him, I assume that led to muddy palms. He looks at me like a know-it-all does, smugly grinning with his head tilted back. He speaks slowly "I could ask you the same question."

I roll my eyes and sigh "are you an idiot then?"

"I've been told I am,"

"wow you're stupid,"

"I've been told that before, too,"

I sigh and try to recover some of the social skills my sister taught me, politeness is the key "I'm-"

He cuts me off "I know who you are,"

My fore head twitches in annoyance, see? This is why I don't talk to people. I stare at him and slam my book. I sigh before speaking "ugh… well, how do you know who I am?" I mumble, I really didn't want to talk to him. I had actually not spoken to anyone other than family or teachers for a week so this spoilt my record.

He grins and jolts up to his knees "you're sisters a good friend of mine," he settles back down and pulls a thinking face with his finger jabbing his bottom lip "she said I would like you, but I normally prefer talkative people," pause "well I like you too, don't worry,"

I stare at him.

"so your name is Gray then? I'm Natsu, we both have odd names then huh?" he laughs "well so do most of my friends so we should get along quite well… maybe… do you speak at all?"

"yes."

"oh, well good," he says slowly, staring at me like I was a crazy person. Which some would say I am to be fair… but it's not nice to be looked at like that.

"yes,"

He sighs "if you talk why aren't you talking?"

I tilt my head and suddenly realise how it got about ten degrees warmer, so quickly I unzip one layer of my hoodie and slip it of before speaking. Well, I had to think a lot, recover all the thoughts I had while talking to my sisters friends. But my sisters friends are all girls so… how do I talk to lyon again?

"I'm not very talkative smart ass," I hiss at him before picking up another book. That's right, from what I've learnt from Lyon talking to me guys aren't polite, so I don't need to put on my act right? I can swear all I want then can't I?

He looks taken aback at my outburst. He says blankly "I can tell," then shakes the look off and carries on being… hyper.

I watch him, he had slightly tanned skin, even in winter, and dark clouded eyes even though he had a smile on his face. And even when the smile left his face his eyes still peaked at the side as if he still were. And his hair was bright; it obviously got a lot of attention.

"it's getting quite late…" he says looking at the watch loosely rapped round his wrist, I stop looking at him and glanced back to my book "so, want to walk back together? I live across from you, you know?"

I shake my head "I'm staying here," and then I lean back onto the pile of leaves behind me.

"all night?" he asks "cause I can stay with you for a bit, don't want you walking home by yourself do we?" he pokes my side as though it's a jibe. He grins at me happily.

I nod slowly while studying the words on the crumbling page that looks like it has been stained with tea. "I'm camping out," I pat my blue sleeping bag with my foot. His eyes lead to the floor, following the sound of my foot patting the bag.

"why?" he questions reaching into his pocket to pull out a packet of gum.

I shrug keeping my eyes sturdy "because I feel like it," I sigh flicking to a new page.

"you could come mine if you like?"

"Yeah, I'm totally going to go run off with a damn stranger,"

"I'm not a stranger though…? I'm Natsu your next door neighbour,"

"oh. Right."

"So you want to come over or what?"

"I really don't,"

"gah your stubborn!"

"am I?" I say with the slight grin, it's was fun annoying him for some reason. And I didn't feel awkward with him, like everyone else I talked to. He was collapsed into the bench we were sat on in annoyance "I don't make friends you know," I warn him.

He glances up at me with a tired expression "how'd you know?" he asks. I don't reply, just stare at him, and so he speaks again "look, it's not safe here okay? You might of stayed here before or something but… you are supposed to be the best student at school! How can you be that stupid…?" he goes off in a rant and I continue to stare at him bemused.

When I still don't reply he takes my wrist and pulls me through the crystal coated trees, I make sure to grab my bag "what are you doing idiot?" I demand. There's absolutely no light other than the dim hue of the moon. He makes sure we don't trip over the edge into the water that looked jet black in the light, or, lack-there-of.

"I'm taking you to my house!"

:D review?
