CHAPTER ONE
"Mana-san, would you like some cookies?"
Mana looked up to see Watanuki smiled to her and offered her a plate full of cookies. Mana smiled brightly and quickly snatched the food from his hands.
"Yay! Watanuki's cookies are the best~" She said hapily, munching the cookies happily. Watanuki smiled weirdly and sweatdropped. It has been a week since this girl is here. Mana. A girl who mysteriously appeared out of nowhere a week ago. She has lshoulder-length lavender purple hair and clear gray eyes. She currently wearing a pink knee-length frilly dress with a red ribbon tied her hair. Her hands hand feet are covered in bandage, same goes for her right eyes.
"Well... I'm glad you like it." Watanuki said then he took a tray next to him and brought it to Yuuko who sat at the lawn with Maru and Moro.
"Here's tea." He said as he walked over to Yuuko.
"Tea~"
"Tea~"
Yuuko took the tea and take a sip then put the cup on a small table in front of her.
Yuuko, the witch of Dimension. A beautiful woman with very long black hari and a pair of red eyes with pale skin.
"Very tasty." She said. "You're very good at making tea Watanuki." She praised.
Watanuki blushed and looked away. "Your praise doesn't affect me." He said, obviously lying.
"Your dislike is really only this big." She said in amuse tone. "But, I really just want him in a good mood so that he'll mow the lawn for me, right~?" She said to Maru and Moro.
Right~" Both of them answered.
"What are you plotting!?" Watanuki yelled in disbelief.
Mana giggled as she watched the scene before her. It has been a week since she arrived here. Watanuki and Yuuko had been so nice to her. Even though she is a complete stranger, Yuuko and Watanuki treated her kindly like a guest. Mana came here in order to ask Yuko to grants her wish, that is to heal Selphia tree, a tree that is the source of life in her world. That tree suddenly wither, no one knows who did it or how it happen, it's just happen. In order to save her world crossed the dimension to meet the witch of Dimension, that is, Yuko, with the help of the others she managed to get here.
Yuko already told her that she will grants her wish but then Yuko said something about she came earlier than Yuko expected and she has to wait.
It makes her confuse, what or who exactly that she has to wait?
"Rain?"
She snapped out of her mind and looked up at the sky. Watanuki was right. It was rain but there is no clouds.
"Rain!" Mana yelled happily and began to walked outside towards the lawn, playing in the rin like little child would.
"You look like you enjoy it." Watanuki sweatdropped.
"Yep~ I LOVE rain~" Mana said, putting and emphasis on the word love.
Watanuki sweatdropped again. "A-Anyway how come rain fall when there's no clouds?"
"The Fox's marriage." Yuuko said.
"Fox?"
"When it rains from clear sky."
Mana looked at Yuuko confusedly. "Fox can get marry?"
Yuuko chuckled, not answering Mana.
"Thanks for the cookies~" Yuuko said happpily.
"You just only want the cookies!" Watanuki exclaimed as Yuko ignored him and she enjoyed the cookies while Maru and Moro were singing as the background "Cookies~ Cookies~" Mana giggled then she sat on a chair in front of Yuuko, dripping wet.
"If you listen, you can hear things" After the cookies, Yuko enjoyed her tea
"Eh? What?" Watanuki said, confused.
"Maru, Moro" Yuko called and the two girls hold a small round mirror up
"Yep~" They replied and placed it on the table
"Using a mirror or some glass, close to your heart and then close your eyes and listen. It's a type of fortune telling" Yuko explained, "And the result is almost definite" Yuko nodded and she hand the mirror to Watanuki.
"Do you want to try?" Watanuki looked quite hesitant but he took the mirror "Close your eyes…Don't think…just listen to the sound…" The glasses boy closed his eyes and he suddenly snapped opened
"What? Be ready?" Watanuki confused and he turned to Yuko "Ah…I'm afraid I'm not understand at all"
"Are they…coming today?" Yuko stood up
"That is not…" Watanuki tried to explained but Yuko ignored him
"In that case, we should be ready for them" And she glanced at Mana. "You too Mana-chan, it's time for you to go on your journey."
Mana looked at her, confused. "...Journey? What Journey?"
Yuuko smiled. "You will know soon. Now get ready and wear the clothes you wore when you first arrived here."
.
.
.
Mana walked out of the shop, wearing a red short japanese-like war that is so short that it reviealed her scarred stomach. Red fabric was hanging on her waist, making it looked like she's wearing a skirt, the red fabric hiding her armored-like pants and she wore red shoes. She also wore the red ribbon she wore earlier. She also brought with her a small bag hanging on her waist.
"Are you ready?" Yuuko asked. Yuko is wearing a long black dress with accents and trim of white.
"Sure, if it's an adventure I'm all up for it!" Mana said cheerfully.
Yuko smiled and pat the girl's head.
Mana smiled. "Thank you for your kindness all this time Yuko-san." Mana said. She look at Watanuki. "You too Watanuki, thank you for all the delicious food~" She said.
"Is that all I'm really thanked for?" Watanuki asked, sweatdropping.
Mana giggled.
"Here they come." Yuko said.
From the raining sky a blob fell down slowly like some kind of liquid. The blob dissappear to revealed two teenagers. One is a boy with brown hair and amber eyes, wearing a black sleeveless clothes with dark greaan robe and white pants, while the other one is a girl who seems to be unconscious. She has short strawberry-blonde colored hair and wearing pink clothes.
"Are you the witch of dimension!?" the boy asked desperately.
"I have been called that." Yuko answered.
"PLEASE! HELP SAVE SAKURA!" The boy yelled desperately. Mana can't help but to put her hand on her chest and clench it. She doesn't like it when someone's dying even though she doesn't know this people.
"This child, you said her name is 'Sakura' correct?" Yuko asked.
"Yes" The boy responded.
"What's yours?"
"Syaoran." The boy named Syaoran answered. Yuko then, put her hand on Sakura's face.
"This child has lost something precious to her, yes?" Yuko asked once more. Syaoran nodded. Mana then decided to listen to what they have to say
"Yes…" Syaoran murmured softly.
"And… That thing was scattered across various worlds." Yuko kept talking."If she continues to be like this, this child will die." Mana gasped quietly and look at Syaoran sadly.
"Watanuki!" She called.
"Y-yes?" Watanuki's voice had a slight stuttered.
"Go to the safe. There's something I need there." She said. She then turned to Mana. "Mana-chan, come here."
Mana nodded slowly and walked to stood next to Yuko.
Then Yuko continued to speak, though this time she was speaking to Syaoran "Do you want to help this girl?"
"Yes."
"There will be a price. Even so?"
"If there's anything I can do, I'll do it!"
"… They're coming" The witch stated calmly and looked away from Syaoran, and now there were more people. Mana gasped when she saw a man with thick blue coat suddenly appear before her. The man look at her right in the eyes. The man has blue eyes and blonde white hair. He then smiled at Mana. Mana stared at her for a bit, making the man confuse, but then Mana smiled back at him.
"Hello~" She greeted cheerfully.
"Hello to you too miss." The blonde guy said with a cheerfull tone also.
Mana then glanced at the other man. He has a scary appearance with his spiky black hair and his warrior outfit.
"Are you the witch of dimensions?" The blond one asked, just as the ninja guy asked "Who the hell are you?" They already seemed to be conflicting with each other. They were both glaring at each other, well the ninja was glaring at the blond guy.
"You first." Yuko said gesturing at the black ninja.
"I'm Kurogane." He started, "But, where the hell are we?"
"Japan…" Yuko answered.
"Well I came from Japan!" Kurogane said.
"A different Japan." Yuko said, with a little hint of smugness.
"I don't understand." Kurogane said, confused.
"What she means is you are in Japan, but in different dimension. So this Japan is not the Japan that you came from… Make sense?" Kurogane look at Mana with the 'I have no idea what you're talking about' look which makes Mana huffed, didn't like the fact that someone didn't understand her explanation. She was sure she has make it simple and less confusing.
"Don't bother explaining to him." Yuko said. She then turned to the blonde man. "And you?"
"I'm a Celes country wizard. Fai D. Flowright." He introduced himself gracefully.
"You do know where we are right?" Yuko asked Fai.
"Yes." Fai said. "A place where you grant wishes at a proper or high price." Fai continued.
"That is correct." Yuko said. "Now, since all of you are here, that means you have some sort of wish." She turned to Kurogane and Fai. "What is your wish?"
"I want to return to my world/never return to my world" Kurogane and Fai said at the same time, making Mana giggled. Kurogane then glared at Fai.
"Those wishes you have, if you pay separately, it won't be enough." Syaoran looked crushed
"But if you four pay together, it might barely be enough." "What the hell are you talking about-?" Kurogane hissed
"Please be quiet Black." Fai said with a slight grin on his face.
"IT'S NOT BLACK!" Kurogane yelled.
"You four all have the same wish." Yuko turned to Syaoran "You child. Want to go to different worlds to collect this girl's memories." The she looked at Kurogane "From a different world, you want to go back to your own world." Then Fai "You want to go live in a world other than you own." She looked at Mana "Your wish is to travel to different world to search for antidote to save your world" she said, then turned back to the four guests in front of her." reasons why you want to go to different worlds. Each one of your wishes, I can't grant them. But if the four of you give me your precious item, the five of you can go to different worlds."
"Five?" Kurogane asked.
Yuko glance at Mana. "This is Mana. She is also one of my guest and will be going on a journey with the four of you." Yuko explained.
Mana nodded hesitantly.
Yuko then turned towards the four in front of her.
"Well then, you…" She said to Kurogane. "Your price is that sword."
"I'LL NEVER HAND MY SILVER DRAGON!" Kurogane snapped.
"Fine then, in exchange you can roam around looking like a cosplayer, violate weapon laws, get arrested by the police, and get interviewed on television." Mana giggled a bit, while Kurogane was left utterly confused. The witch continued "I'm the only one in this world able to send you to another world."
"BULLSHIT!"
"It's true." Fai chimed in.
"Really?" Kurogane asked quickly. Fai nodded.
"So, what are you going to do?" The witch asked smugly.
"SHIT! When this curse is over, I will definitely return for it!" He yelled
"Your price is that tattoo…" Fai seemed shocked.
"Will this wand not do?" Fai had a smile on his face while he said that.
"I said, the price if your most valuable thing." The witch deadpanned.
"I guess I have no other choice then…" The tattoo seemed to fly through the clothes on his back and next to the witch.
"And you?" She asked Syaoran, "What is the most precious thing that you own? And will you give it to me to go to another world?"
"Yes." Syaoran answered.
"Your price has not been told yet, you would still give it to me?"
"Yes"
"I can only help you travel to your paths to different worlds. You must search for this child's memories by yourself."
"…Yes"
"…Good you're prepared." Mana then spotted Watanuki came closer holding two puffballs with different color. "Here he comes" The witch speak softly. Watanuki give the white puffballs to the witch.
"His name is Mokona Madoki. He will help you to travel to another dimension." She introduced them to the white puffballs.
"You have another one, hand me that one. I'll go with this one." Kurogane was pointing at the black puff ball that was still in Watanuki's arms.
"That's only for communication. All he can do is communicates with this Mokona." She said gesturing at the Mokona she was holding. "Mokona can take you to another dimension, but he can't control where you land. Your wish becoming true is only by luck. But there are no coincidences in this world. There is only hitsuzen. You were all destined to meet each other. Syaoran your payment is your relationship." The witched said. "To you, the most important thing is your relationship with this girl. So I'll take it." The witched continues.
"What does that mean?"
"Even if she gets all of her memories back, you will not have the same relationship as before. What is she to you?"
"My childhood friend, the princess of my country and someone who is very important to me." Syaoran whispered the last bit.
"…I see. But if you are going to use Mokona that relationship will disappear. Even if you were able to return all her memories back, the part about you won't return. That is your price." Mana looked at Syaoran sadly. His price is even harshest than her. To lose the bond that he has form so long…
"Still?" the witch asked.
"…I'll go! I won't let Sakura die!" Syaoran said with determination.
"As for you Mana, your price is that mark." Yuko said, pointing at the eight wings mark on the back of her hand. Mana nodded hesitantly and the mark float out of her hand.
"Travelling through various worlds will be tougher than you think. There are many worlds… for example. These people come from different worlds. You can tell by the clothing they wear, you understand? That the worlds you came from are different… People you know from past worlds may have different lives in separate worlds. You may meet the same people in many different worlds. For those who were nice to you in one world, you can't be certain they will be the same in another."
Mana was a bit confused at that, but suddenly, Mokona spread his wings and sucked all of them.
.
.
.
Mana then open her eys to see that she was in an unknown space. She then saw a ball of light flying towards her.
"What's this?" she wondered.
"Greetings, oh you who have been blessed by pure light" she gasped when she heard a woman's voice.
"Do not afraid child. I'm here to lend you my strenght?" That voice said. Mana look at it for a moment. "Well... but my mother always say not to talk to stranger." Mana said jokingly.
The voice make a sound that sounds like a giggle. "So?" She asked
Mana thought for a moment. "All right then! Having a strenght from an unknown light seems pretty cool!" She said.
"Very well then."
The light then enters her body, and she drifted off to the dreamland.
When she opened her eyes, she saw that she was in an unfamiliar room. She then looked around. "Where am i?" she wondered.
"Good Morning!" She then look at Mokona who's flying towards her. "Oh Morning~." Mana said.
"Hello there. You are Mana-chan right?" Fai asked with wide smile. Mana smile brightly too. "Yes~ I'm Mana! You're Fai-san right? And that man is Kurota... err... Kurapa... err... Uh... his name is difficult." Mana said, after giving up trying to pronounce Kurogane's name.
"Don't Worry!" Fai said happily. "You can call him Kuro-chan or other nicknames." Fai said.
"THE HELL!? STOP CALLING ME THAT!" Kurogane yelled.
"Ah Kuro-papa then~" Mana said.
"Perfect!" Fai said, giving Mana a high five.
"DON'T CALL ME THAT!"
Mana laughed out loud then she looked at Mokona. "You must be Mokona~ You're so cute!" Mana said, staring at Mokona with bright eyes.
"Yay! Mokona is cute~ cute~" Mokona cheer happily, hopping up and down on Mana's lap.
Then, Syaoran woke up and calling Sakura's name.
"Good morning~" Mana said to the frantic young man. "You Sakura is still on your arms~" Mana teased.
Syaoran then sighed in relief and look embarrassed because of his earlier behavior and because of Mana teasing her. Fai then suddenly pulling out a feather from Syaoran.
"Isn't this… her fragments of memories?" Fai asked.
"Eh!?"
"It got stuck in you." Fai said.
"Well the feathers scattered that time…" Syaoran said, reminiscing the earlier event at the excavation site
"It is?" Mana asked.
Kurogane stared at Fai. He was full of it. He seemed to be taking everything very lightly and seemed unfaze by anything that happen. He is hiding something.
Mana moved closer to Fai and Syaoran, staring at the feather with curiousity.
"It's pretty." Mana said. "But how do we return it to Sakura-chan?" Mana asked.
Syaoran seemed to be contemplating the same questions.
Mana took the feather from Fai's hand, making the blonde mage confuse, she then tried to place the feather to the other girl's chest. Then, Sakura's chest began to ripple and the feather went inside her.
"Ooh~ That worked~" Mana said happily.
"Mana-chan suggoi!" Mokona praised.
"Thank you~"
"Her body is getting warmer." Syaoran said in relief. Mana smiled. "That's good… Anyway how are we going to search for the feathers?" she asked.
"Mokona knows!" Mokona said excitedly. "Just now, there was a strong wave from the feather. If it is close I'll know. When I catch a wave, Mokona will become like… This!" Everyone except Fai and Mana stiffened at the unnatural sight. Mana was clapping her hands like a child.
"Suggoi! That looks cool!" Mana said.
"Seriously!?" Kurogane can't help but asked.
Mana giggled. Seems like her companions won't be such a boring people after all.
