A/N: Part two of 'As Good as Any Other.' I'm not quite as proud of this one as I am of Part One. But I like it none the less.

As Good a Daughter as Any

"Why are you so kind to me?" She asks with flawless intonation, her sword hovering with intended threat at his throat.

He can only sneer at her, hating that she dare call him on his deep flaw. A flaw that she, herself, made with her pristine hands. She's the one who made him like this. She, with her gentle and quickly angering ways. Her quicksilver eyes that shot to conclusions, and ideas so much like his own. He knew she had originally been in need of saving, but she is a pirate now, and has bewitched him in a way no man should be bewitched.

And now he comes at her every beck and call, worrying over her health of mind and body, though she's a woman without need of saving. He lingers over her proposals instead of dismissing them instantly. He makes sure she is equipped with the weapons necessary for her journey into the very mouth of Singapore, where women are not safe alone. It is all he can do not to ask her to stay on the boat, but he knows all pirate lords have a weakness for pretty things, and he can't deny that Elizabeth is by far the prettiest thing that God himself had ever laid eyes on.

He comes immediately when he fears that she has landed herself into danger as all women do. He keeps a watchful eye on any man who looks at her in way that could be a tad more than lustful. He keeps a mind for when she's about to overstep a boundary that she can't retract from. He's wary of her, even on his ship.

So, with an eye-roll he answers her, "You're as good a daughter to me as any."
