Author Note: This is a Resident Evil fluff from Alice's P.O.V reflecting on what has happened to her since the beginning of the Zombie Apocalypse. It will have snip-its from each movie entangled with my own ideas. I'm hoping to paint the full picture of trials and tribulations of our hero; Alice Abernathy.

Major spoilers for ALL movies are going to be recorded in here, so if you don't want to hear them then don't read it. Also, for those that have seen the movies countless times (such as myself) I hope you enjoy!

Please let me know what you think with a review or leave a comment if you did/did not enjoy!

Chapter Two

Mid swing I dropped my sword, as a bare of cream coloured arms wrapped themselves around my waist. Her hair smelled of oranges, body so light, but whole. This was not an illusion, I never wanted to let her go, afraid that if I did she'd fizzle back into my overactive imagination.

The last time we were together seemed like a lifetime ago. On board the Arcadia, a ship in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, a whole other universe.

She was real and I was no longer alone...

-\-

L.A., the city where dreams were promised to always come true. When Claire and I left Alaska, a barren wasteland of abandoned biplanes and pebbled beaches, the city was ablaze. Buildings burned with flutes of grey/black smoke into the skyline. No one was left alive in the metropolis, just the undead overflowing back allies and street corners. As I circled in closer I noticed a fortified building that looked to be still standing. My only option for landing was the roof, and maybe we could at least collect supplies before continuing on.

The landing was rough, only a small strip of ground before the threat of going over the other end and down into a pit of undead. There were survivors, using the place as a hideout. They helped as we dangled like a treat to a salivating dog.

Luther West, once famous basketball player, Angel ex-militia, Crystal a young actress looking to strike it big, Wendell a hard-press movie critic with his lapdog Yong were what remained of L.A.'s population. We were the first humans they'd seen since the outbreak.

Celebrations did not last long as the barriers keeping out the infected were on the verge of breaking. It was only a matter of time before the prison would be overrun by whatever other bio-weapons Umbrella had up their sleeves. Ten feet tall, ax wielding, cloth covered, assholes...the Las Plagues, another strain of infected that could swim and burrow through concrete, mouths retracting like Venus Fly Traps...it sounded like it came from a cheesy horror movie, but this was our life.

In a true asshole fashion, Wendell and his lapdog stole the only way to get out leaving the rest to die.

To escape we needed a plan and their was only one person who knew enough about the prison; Chris Redfield. A man held captive in a Plexiglas cell in the basement of the prison. He was treated like a prisoner and also Claire's older brother, a brother that she didn't remember, thanks to the shit Umbrella pumped into her.

Some lived, many died, but in the end, we made it to Arcadia, a large oil tanker out in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.

No signs of life, living or dead, until we made it deep into the bowels of the ship. The looming Umbrella logo made my blood boil.

I had led Claire and the others to their death...

"Are you really here?" I mumbled into her neck, "Am I no longer alone?"

"You were never alone." She replied her voice as soft as the wind. My knees dropped into the sand once more, giving into temptation.

Black army boots covered with red splotches marking where the undead fell by her hands stared at me. My hands roamed over her pants, feeling her soft skin through the teared fabric. As her hands came to caress my cheek dark green and brown bruises coloured her wrists and arms came into view. Mementos from endless battles. I brought them to my lips, hoping my kiss would make them disappear.

"Come home Alice."

Every word she spoke was soft and caring. A breath of fresh air, hearing someone else speak other than the voices in my head. Was this really over? Was I finally done? Done with being a leader, done with being the sudo hero for the human race?

No more killing.

No more Umbrella.

No more death.

...Battle raged aboard the Arcadia. Hundreds, if not thousands of Umbrella black hawk helicopters appeared in the sky, blocking out the sun. Agents repelled down, ready with guns that expelled large nets to capture their precious test subjects. One agent stood out from the rest, dressed in a purple cat suit with long flowing blonde hair.

Jill Valentine

For years I assumed my once trusted friend and fellow Raccoon City survivor, had perished. Instead she was captured by Umbrella and placed under their control. The glowing red scarab clutched to her chest had to be the key, Valentine would never surrender without some sort of consequence. Being controlled after all was something I was familiar with, and it made my blood boil.

The battle ended as fast it started and I was once again in the hands of Umbrella. This time it was different. The torture was calculated and deliberate. It was in hopes of regaining control of their best asset. After my escape I came across an unlikely ally; Ada Wong. Once employed by Umbrella like myself, Ada was an assassin. She claimed to no longer be working for Umbrella, gone freelance, much like myself. I soon learned she was not the only one...

Albert Wesker...

..That asshole makes my blood curdle, but never as bad as The Red Queen, the apparent new leader of the Umbrella Corporation. That damn homicidal computer from The Hive. Oliveria, Rain, One, and so many others that lost their lives have been cloned by her to be apart of Jill's security team. As much as I wanted to do this on my own, I had no choice but to team up with Ada and Wesker. Especially after learning I am in an Umbrella test facility submerged under the icy waters of Russia.

Anything The Red Queen could throw she did. Bigger, bader and uglier bio-weapons stood in our path, but never completely blocked it. Ada and I parted ways after we found a young, eight year old girl who believed I was her mother. She too was a clone, imprinted with only enough memories and emotions to barely pass as a human being. I couldn't leave Becky, not like this, she deserved more and Ada, she intentionally got herself captured.

I eventually met up with Luther, an old, familiar face, and Leon S Kennedy, a renegade against the Umbrella Corporation much like myself. Believing we were home free, in hindsight, that thought was stupid. Rain, who was now infected with the Las Plagues virus, a super T-virus that made her invincible and Valentine, still being controlled by The Red Queen had taken Ada to the surface in one of the nuclear submarine to block their escape.

Bones cracked...blood spewed...Valentine was strong, but I was stronger. I ripped the Red Scarab off her chest, just like I did with Claire in Alaska, the redheaded bombshell I lost in the raid of the Arcadia. I watched as my only friend crumbled to the ground, convulsing, expelling her body of Umbrella's control.

As I regained one friend, I lost another. I watched, helpless, my own body aching and, eyes heavy and ready to give up as Luther collapsed to the ground after taking a power drive to the chest, dead. Fueled once more by rage, I took my hatred for these battles, for the endless biological anomalies Umbrella creates to end Rain once and for all. I knew I couldn't kill her so I fired at the ice at her feet, watching as it gave way beneath her weight. Her fellow Las Plagues did the rest.

I collapsed, there was no way I could continue. When I awoke I was in a helicopter, my body covered in a heat blanket, IV stuck into my arm as and Jill watching over me, back to her true self. I closed my eyes once more, and when I opened them again we had landed.

Washington DC, stepping out on the front lawn to what remained of the White House. It was now Weskers new base of operations. This was humanities last stand, and sadly he was right. Looking out from the roof an over one hundred foot tall wall with men fighting back hoards of creatures stared at us. The true reason to why Wesker needed me became very apparent.

Project Alice was back...

"I-I thought I'd never see you again." I stated, meeting the red head's eyes, seeing them sparkle.

"We never thought we'd see you either, not with how strong you are." Claire replied.

"We? Who's we?"

"Chris, K-Mart...Valentine."

How was that possible? I saw Valentine die. The imagery of her life being ripped away by one of those flying creatures. How did she survive? I know I have unique abilities, but if Jill was still alive and breathing, she deserved to be the saviour of the human race. Everyone else, I thought I'd never see again, but they're here...alive...how was that possible?

"Valentine? I saw..." Alice's voice trailed off as people materialized on the horizon.

I shielded my eyes to try and make out their faces in the sun, but I couldn't, they were too far away, shimmering like a mirage. Was it possible I was dreaming all of this? Was the desert sun playing tricks on me, was this really how I was going to die? I could see Claire's extended hand, shimmering itself now. I hesitantly took it, rising to my feet, gripping my sword.

"There is no need for those anymore Alice, we're safe, the battle is over." She said, removing it from my hand, her hands going cold.

"Over? No more Umbrella?"

Claire shook her head as Valentine, Chris, K-Mart, and little Angela Ashford joined us on the beach."Just us, just your family."

Something was not adding up. The Umbrella empire falling doesn't make sense. They were too large, too powerful. Guaranteed their was no corner of the earth that had escaped their or the undead's grasp. Only one explanation, one conclusion to why this particular beach was infection free and why only the people I was closest to, materialized before me came to mind, but i refused to believe it.

"What is this place?" I asked, her body temperature dropping fast.

Claire's eyes had gone hollow, her smile bruises became more apparent in her pale skin. I could see the talon marks in Jill's shoulders, the burns on Chris's face, the stab wounds in Angela's small torso once again bleeding dark red, almost black liquid. I let go of Claire's hand, as I looked at her neck, the slash across it open and bleeding down the front of her shirt.

"We're all safe, we're all together again," Jill replied, her lips turning blue.

I looked back at the ocean, the red water still lapping against the sand as I tried to keep the bile in my throat inside. My eyes stung with tears, not wanting to remember the woman I loved, the people I treated like family, left in their rotted states. More bodies began to float to the surface, bobbing in the ocean like apples in a barrel at a kids birthday party.

I looked down at my reflection in the water, the bullet hole was small, looking like black mole under my chin as my mouth filled with the metallic iron taste of blood.

Everything around me faded away..the human race had lost and everything, including the earth had finally gone black...
