A/N: Hey guys! Part 2 is here! I hope you enjoy!
Gajeel walked out of the store as a poorer, but happier man. That didn't mean he wasn't as nervous as heck.
Hey, confessing your love to the girl of your dreams is not easy.
But, he was happy as he had found the perfect ring to give to Levy. It was a rose shaped diamond ring. Engraved on the inside was Beauty lies within.
He picked it because it reminded him of the only fairy tale Levy forced him to listen to her read. He realized how closely that story intertwined with him and Levy.
Levy was his beauty and he hoped he would be her beast.
Thinking about it, he realized how she had saved him from being the monster he was meant to be. And he swore that he would protect her with his life.
When Gajeel got back to the guild, he walked over to where Team Natsu was sitting.
Lucy had her eyes closed and was leaning against the chair. Wendy's eyes exasperated as she stitched up Natsu and gave Gray a sling.
Those two on the other hand were terrified as Erza angrily lectured them. Happy was trying to impress Carla, who totally ignored him. But you couldn't deny the light blush on her face.
Lilly was just sitting there, waiting for Gajeel to return. He was sitting next to...Levy.
Gajeel started to walk to sit next to her when Lucy's eyes snapped open. "Erza.", she softly called, tapping the red-head's shoulder.
Grays eyebrows raised in realization. "That was quick. Good luck metal head, don't crack the iron love!", he said, trying to make a joke.
"That doesn't even make sense.", Gajeel told him.
Erza's eyes flashed with realization as she watched Gajeel looking at Levy. "I'm so excited for the wed-", she began before Gray covered her mouth.
That was a bad move, you could see Juvia from behind the table shooting daggers at them.
"What are you all talking about?", Natsu asked, angry he didn't know what was happening.
Gajeel sat next to Levy who looked up from her book.
"Oh, hi Gajeel. I was so engrossed in this book, I didn't notice you come in!", she said in her light voice.
Gajeel knew it wasn't unusual, she usually didn't notice when people came into the guild, but he still felt a pang inside him when he realized he was just ''people''.
" it's 'kay.", he said gruffly.
"Anyway, I have something to talk to you about. You know where that hill by the guild is?",he asked her.
Her eyes narrowed in confusion. "Yes, bu-", she was cut off.
"Good, just meet me there, okay?", he said and left. He had to get ready.
"You might want to get ready too. Mentally and physically.", Gray hinted towards her.
"Pick out a nice dress. I'd say orange, it really suits you.", Erza advised.
"What a-?", Levy began to ask when she was ushered out of the hall.
A/N: Levy recollects her own memories at this point
She went to her room utterly confused. But there was a small spring to her step. She had formed a crush on Gajeel since the day he joined the guild.
But, he had never shown if he returned her affections. Levy knew he wasn't the type to prolong something so if he needed to talk, he would have done so there.
Why did he ask her to meet him? Anyway, she took Erza's advice and wore a nice dress. It wasn't a floor length gown, it was more casual. It was just a tad bit fancier than her regular orange one.
After she got ready she phoned Lucy. Maybe she could weasel the truth out of her.
"Hey, Lucy? Let's talk.", she called into the phone.
"Uh, yeah, sure. Are you all ready?", she asked.
"Yeah, but I'm not really sure why you guys are forcing me to dress up for a talk. You want to tell me why?", Levy asked.
"Stop prying. You'll find out soon enough.", Lucy said.
Levy noticed that Lucy's voice had a little spring to it. She sounded almost giddy.
"Why are you so happy? Did Natsu hand you a ring?", she teased.
To her surprise, the girl she knew who would have been incredibly flustered, gave a small laugh. "N-Natsu? Nah, maybe not in a million years. Although...I do know somebody who has recently bought one...", she said.
"Who?", Levy asked, confused. If her comment about Natsu didn't fluster her, then there was a serious problem.
"Oh, just someone around the guild.", she said.
"Anyway, hurry up! It's time to go!", Lucy told her and hung up.
Levy shook her head. Her guild mates were weird, but this was just plain odd.
Gajeel straightened his coat and plucked a rose from the ground. He was so scared. Would she say yes...or no...yes...or no...
He walked up the hill and already found his blue-haired beauty waiting for him.
She was standing under a tree.
"Hey, Gajeel. Can you tell me what you want to talk about?", she asked him, twirling her hands on her dress.
She was really looking very beautiful and Gajeel felt his throat go dry.
"Y-Yeah, I've got something important to tell you.", he said, holding the rose behind his back.
He thought he heard something from behind the bushes when he started.
"W-Well, you know that book you read to me?", he started. He knew the name of the book, but he wanted to see if she knew as well.
"Yeah, Beauty and the Beast, what about it?".
"Well, I was thinking about it and you know what the Beast felt for Belle, right?", he asked her.
"L-Love. Gajeel what does this have to do with anything?".
"I was destined to be a beast from my birth. But you...Levy you saved me. And at first I thought, because of that, that I was grateful for you and I was confusing that with love.".
He paused to see her unreadable face. He took a deep breath and continued. Here goes nothing.
"But I realized that it wasn't gratefulness I was felling towards you. Well, yes, I'd always be grateful to you, but what I was feeling...was different.".
"I'm grateful towards everyone in the guild, but you...I've always felt something more. It took me a while to realize it, but Levy...you're my beauty. I love you.".
He held out a rose to her and shut his eyes tight. He didn't know if she would take it or not.
The next few seconds were unbearable. He almost was about to throw the flower away when she took it from him.
"G-Gajeel. I-I love you to. Since the day I met you.", she said, her eyes brimming with tears.
"Thank god, I was scared there.", he said, smiling at her, shaking his hands.
She nodded, returning the smile.
"This might be too fast for you, but squirt..", he said.
He opened his hand and revealed the ring he had bought.
She gasped.
"What's the point in waiting when you know something's right?", he said.
Her eyes widened and tears flowed down her chin.
She slid her finger through the ring. "What's the point in waiting when you know something's right.", she agreed.
Gajeel heard some rustling in the bushes, but before he could call out he heard a voice. "Ice Make Mistletoe.".
A huge ice mistletoe started growing from under the branch the two lovers were standing under.
"Gray!", Levy exclaimed.
A smirking, shirtless (of course) Gray come out, with crying Erza and Mira, with beaming Lucy and grinning Natsu.
"Guys!", it was Gajeel's turn to exclaim.
"What, you couldn't expect us not to come and see, metal head!", Natsu said.
"What are you guys waiting for? You're under a mistletoe!", Mira exclaimed excitedly.
"Should w-", Gajeel was cut off by Levy's lips coliding with his.
It was the first of many.
He felt like they should stay like that for many years when he felt a blast of water fall on them.
He looked up to see Gray's mistletoe put out by Natsu's fire.
"NATSU!", he growled. He was about to go chase him when Levy laid her head on his chest.
"Stay with me.", she told him sweetly.
"Wouldn't leave for the world.", he answered her.
They shut out the world outside them. The guild had come out by now. Mira and Erza's cries filled the air along with Juvia's. Gray and Natsu were in a heated fight, all of Cana's gambling buddies were either collecting money or sighing in defeat.
But the two lovers didn't hear any of that.
And their lips collided once more.
A/N: Present time, Gajeel is back from his job.
Levy carefully put the leather book back in its box with a smile on her face.
"Hey squirt! I told you not to move!", Gajeel's gruff voice rang out.
"Sorry!", Levy called out.
"How's the little guy? Causing trouble?", he asked.
"He's going to be just like you, I can tell.", she said, putting a hand on her stomach.
"It could be a girl.".
"I doubt it.".
"Whatever, when do you think they're going to officially become a Redfox? He seems anxious to get into the real world.".
"What's the point in waiting when you know something's right?".
Gajeel smiled remembering those words. "Let's go, kay?".
She nodded and they walked out of the house, hand in hand. The way they'd walk for the rest of their lives.
