Here's the first chapter! By the way, did you manage to figure out what my name was?

You may have noticed that I changed the name of the story. "Evenfall" didn't seem to fit. Orach is the island where this story takes place. It is completely surrounded by ocean and the only way to get out is via planes or ships.

This story is a parody. I OWN THIS STORY.

Special thanks to y00bi, Etehson and CHARLIZARD7587 for helping me come up with the plot.

So without further ado, let me present to you Chapter 1!

A cockroach skittered across the floor on its six legs. Its hard black cuticle glinted in the light as it twitched its feelers apprehensively, sensing its surroundings for danger. Feeling that it was safe, it raised a leg to step forward.

SMASH!

The cockroach had no time to react as it was crushed under a shoe. The hit completely obliterated the cockroach, smashing its head into the ground, brain exploding from the pressure it received. Its blood splattered on the floor as its body and legs burst from the impact. The feelers twitched once, then stopped moving.

"Eww.." Victor exclaimed as Edison lifted up the shoe he was holding, examining the gross spectacle to ensure it was completely dead.

Bryan cautiously swept the carcass into the dustpan. "Even if this sucks, we still have to do this, no matter how disgusting or frightening this gets." He replied. " This is part of the Volunteering For Others (VFO) program, after all. Although this is not what I imagined."

"Yeah! They said we would be cleaning the house, like sweeping the floor, or wiping the windows, not exterminating all these goddamn cockroaches! How does the woman living here even get on with her life?" Victor ranted furiously. The trio had been assigned to an old lady's house as part of their VFO initiative ( one of their school's compulsory projects), while the other students from their class (C3) were assigned to others. In the past two hours, they (mostly Edison, the other two were scared of cockroaches) had killed cockroaches by the masses, which seemed to be infesting the house. Now, a huge mound of cockroach corpses were piled high in the dustpan that Bryan held.

"I feel bad for spraying insecticide all over her food while trying to kill the cockroaches in her pantry," Edison had noticed another cockroach and was creeping up on it, careful not to be seen.

"Dude. If the number of cockroaches in her pantry was any proof to you, it was obvious that the food was untouched for a long time. There's a very low chance she would even eat it. And if she does and gets poisoned or whatever, you can always blame it on the cockroaches,"Bryan replied, watching Edison slowly advance toward the insect.

Victor watched, reply forgotten, engrossed in Edison's movements as well. Edison raised the shoe high in the air, preparing to mash the cockroach into goo.

"Hey guys!"

The three boys were so focused on their task that the sudden voice made them jump in fright. Startled, Edison dropped the shoe in his hand, where it hit the flood with a resounding THUD, completely missing the roach. Sensing the sudden sound and impact, the cockroach quickly skittered away, narrowly escaping its early death.

The three boys whipped their heads around, Edison especially angry at letting their target get away. A male figure was standing at the doorway of the house. It was Shin Thant. He was one of the most toxic (search it up on urban ) people in the class, with most of his classmates disliking him( Especially, Bryan, who sat next to him). Seeing him, Victor groaned inwardly, before asking in a resigned voice," Shin Thant, why are you here? You caused Edison to mess up his task!"

"I'm sorry, but I came up here to see how you guys are doing."

"Not good, actually. Can you help us clean the kitchen while we kill the cockroaches in the living room?"

" No thanks. I don't know how to clean"

"Not even sweep the floor?!"

"Nope."

"Did a teacher end you up here to check on us?"

"Not that I know of."

Bryan felt his irritation rising. Why did Shin Thant even come here in the first place, if he's not gonna do anything? "Why did you even come here, then?" Bryan voiced his thoughts out loud. "Might as well feed radioactive waste to the roaches, that might be a better use of your time!" He snapped at Shin Thant.

Edison and Victor chuckled at Bryan's suggestion, but Shin Thant had a thoughtful look on his face. "Yeah.. I think I'll do that." Shin Thant replied, before walking away.

Bryan glanced back at his two friends nervously.

"Did you think he was being serious about doing it?"

Edison shared his worried thoughts, but Victor just waved a hand dismissively.

"Who cares? It's not like that he can even find radioactive waste in the first place, right?"

Bryan thought about it for a while, before laughing in relief.

"I guess you're right. Come on,we still have an hour to go before this shit ends."

And with that, the three boys went back into their war against the house.

Later that night, Shin Thant awoke from his sleep. He had remembered what he needed to do. Reaching under his bed, the boy pulled out a zip-lock bag that contained what seemed like glowing green grains of sand. The bag had words written on it, scrawled messily using a permanent marker.

Radioactive waste

Pocketing the bag, Shin Thant slipped out of his house, unnoticed by his teachers, who were sleeping soundly. (Shin Thant lived in a flat with the teachers, while the other students lived in pairs in one house.) Leaving the lift and entering the void deck under his flat, Shin Thant quickly ran towards the nearest dumpster, heart beating quickly in anticipation for what he was going to do.

Nearing the dumpster, Shin Thant could see a few black shapes moving around in the dark, illuminated by the weak moonlight. He hesitated for a moment, before taking a deep breath. It was now or never. He would prove to his class that he could actually do something.

Walking over to the trash filled box on wheels, Shin Thant scattered the radioactive waste among the roaches. The roaches were all over the radioactive waste, with three of them eating the waste before all of it was gone. The effect was instantaneous. The first cockroach to eat the waste started to grow at an exponential rate, growing to the size of the Dumpster, about 1.5 meters (5 feet).

Shin Thant stepped backwards, stumbling and falling in shock. He crawled backwards in fear as the cockroach advanced towards him, its gruesome features magnified by its huge size. Behind it, two more cockroaches grew to the same height as the same one, one of them releasing a translucent medium-brown case, filled with about 16 white ovals.

An egg case.

This was a bad idea...

Shin Thant opened his mouth to scream, but the sound never left his mouth. Instead, it was followed by chirping, hissing and the sound of chewing.

Welp, here's the first chapter of SiO. I hope you like it! As I've mentioned, I'm writing this on the fly on my phone/computer. Since I might not have these for a while (and also cause I'm working on two different stories at the same), I will kinda take an indefinite amount of time to get these stories around. However, I will try to get one chapter out every week. ( including my other story, Not so Ordinary)

Hope you can be patient enough to endure the wait.( It will be worth it!)

May Starclan light your paws,
