Dear Mother,

This letter has probably reached you a bit late, I sent it when I was in Kalm, and I have so much to tell you! The outside world is amazing! Kalm's major export is Mithril! It's a kind of metal that's as light as a feather, but as hard and strong as steel, I tried a shirt of it on and could hardly tell I was wearing it. But I digress, I must tell you o the sites I saw before I left Midgar/ I went to the old Shinra building first, and the area is still in ruins. A passerby told me it was to serve as a memorial to those who had fallen in the war of Meteor and to serve as a reminder to those who would disrupt the Planet for their own needs.

It opened my eyes Mom… I never realized just what had happened then, but I'm slowly putting the pieces together. AVALANCHE risked so much, yet they were labeled as 'terrorists' when they were the only ones who really cared for the Planet in the fractured world.

From there, my next visit was to Lady Aerith's flower garden. I call her 'Lady' for the great respect I harbor for her, after learning as much as I could of her. What she risked, and sacrificed for the Planet. Being the last of the Cetra must have left a huge chip on her shoulder, but she never faltered or gave up on the hope of destroying Meteor and saving the Planet.

And you should see her Garden now, Mom! What was once contained in that tiny church, the flowers are all over Sector 5! The fragrant yellow blossoms cover everything wrecked or broken, almost as if Lady Aerith wanted to cover up everything ugly in the Slums and make it beautiful to everyone. You and Dad should go see it sometime.

While here in Kalm, I stayed at the Inn where Cloud and the group stayed when he told them of his Story, and it turns out he left one of his comrades weapons here as a memorial, A strange looking megaphone with strange runes on it's surface. With the permission of the mayor, I have taken it. I am going to collect all of the weapons important to that group of heroes as well, and make a Grand Memorial for them in Midgar. People will come from miles around, no, the World over to see the monument to the Heroes!

Just wait for me! You'll be proud of me yet Parents!
