A/N: Hmmm just realised that I can't edit chapters after posting (without swapping docs…). Anyways (this was supposedly to be said in the first chap…but yeah…) first time writing this type of genre...hope it goes well . Chars may be OOC, but I'll try to get them as best I can…and I realised that my storyline may have flaws…but work with me! lol xD Also, thanks Lalala for the review :)

Chapter 2

Chiharu woke up and carried out his daily routine: preparation for morning practice. For some reason, his heart was beating faster than usual. He had a lot going in his mind at the moment and yesterday seeing Kyo cry didn't help. Face directed towards the shower head with eyes closed, he turned the shower to a cooler setting in hopes to slow his throbbing heartbeat down. Sadly for him, to no avail, it didn't work.

It had been two days since Chiharu last saw Kyo. She was definitely avoiding him. He tried to search for her whenever he had the chance, but wasn't so lucky. She seemed to be able to evade him. The fact that he lost his phone and her number didn't seem to help him either, and of course, he wouldn't ask anyone for help.

Wrapping his lower half with a towel as he got out of the shower, he stood in front of the mirror looking at himself. But the crying face of Kyo appeared before him. At that moment, he motioned his arms in attempt to embrace her, but he was slapped back into reality as he realised that he was hugging and staring at his topless body.

'Argh, it's not like I pulled her hair that hard…anyways.' he thought with a bright red face. Luckily for him, no one saw. As he continued to dress, his thoughts became a monologue "I'll make it up to you, so don't worry! But for now, I'm going to have to play devils advocate." As he realised that people around him were staring at him for talking to himself, another blush grew on his face. He quickly finished dressing and walked back to his room. There he grabbed his stuff and headed out of the door.

As Chiharu approached the fork road, his heart sank as he didn't get greeted by Kyo. 'I'm still early...I'll wait a bit longer for her to show up…' He looked at his watch and waited, but after fifteen minutes, he had to go, else he'd be late for practice. With a sigh, he started running to school 'Maybe she overslept…or maybe she's angry at me for THAT…'

At practice, he couldn't focus and kept making stupid mistakes, which was not missed by Imai.

"Chiharu! If you can't focus, sit out" shouted Imai with a displeased look on his face, of course, inwardly, Imai knew Chiharu would never step out of a game. Imai had to flex his authority once in a while. But to his surprise, a defeated Chiharu walked to the sideline and sat on the ground to wait for practice to finish. Imai stared at Chiharu with his mouth gaping in surprise.

Yura glanced over at Chiharu and snickered as he saw the other player being lifeless. 'Probably had another fight with Kyo.' was all that crossed Yura's mind as he continued practice.

At the end of practice, everyone went into the change rooms. As Yura was changing, Chiharu walked up beside him. Chiharu got Yura's attention but avoided eye contact.

"Yura…" Chiharu started, but paused for what seemed eternity to Chiharu. "…nevermind…" Chiharu said as he turned around to walk away.

"What is it?" Yura kept pestering him. 'Must be something important…he never takes the initiative to talk to me…maybe he has girl problems…' With that thought, Yura's interest peaked as he let out a snicker.

Chiharu heard the stifled laugh and stopped in his tracks, fists grasped tightly. 'Laughing at me eh?' but he held it in.

"Just ask, stop being a coward, you're a man right?" Yura said loud enough for only Chiharu to hear. 'I can never get tired of provoking him..'

Chiharu turned around again to face Yura. But to his displeasure, Yura added "By the way… if you don't stop arguing, someone might steal her from under your nose." Yura gave a smirk with eyes poised on Chiharu's face. Yura got a kick out of watching how easily Chiharu's emotions got swayed from a few simple words.

That hit the spot for Chiharu, a blood vessel was evident on his forehead. As he turned around to walk away from Yura, a battle within his conscience began.

'Suck it up Chiharu, it's for the greater good!' shouted a small angelic Chiharu.

'You can't take that for him, I'm sure you rather die than have to beg him after he said those words' a devilish figure retorted.

As the two figures of good and evil battled out, Chiharu got more confused. "Shut up!" he shouted, obviously directed to his 'loud mouthed' conscience. But to everyone else in the change room, time stood still as silence and shock spread throughout the room.

Chiharu reluctantly turned back to Yura,"Can I speak to you…" he looked around the change room, then added "…after everyone leaves."

After everyone left, except the two boys, Chiharu went to Yura. "Uhh…Yura…" Chiharu was hesitant, but he continued. "I can't seem to find Kyo anywhere…" before he was finished his thought, he was cut off, which made him angry.

"Ohhhh, why's that?" Yura asked with smile plastered on his face as he thought'Girl problems, bingo!'

Chiharu gave a defeated look. "She's mad at me…" he paused for while and continued. "Can you…"

Hamaya was outside the change room waiting for Chiharu to come out. 'What's taking him so long…and what was with him just now…' he was starting to get impatient; he had waited a whole five minutes after everyone vacated the change room, obviously in a hurried fashion to avoid the moody Chiharu. He was about to go in to check up on Chiharu when he saw the door open. Chiharu rushed out of the change room with a flustered yet angry face. "What's wrong Chiharu?"

Chiharu just walked past Hamaya without a word and headed for class.

Not long after, Yura stepped out of the change room with a smirk plastered on his face. Whatever that transpired, he was going to enjoy it. 'I can read your thoughts…just like a book…'

End of Ch2 – What did Chiharu say? Why's Yura smirking after talking to Chiharu? Is Kyo avoiding Chiharu? And what does Yura mean by "stealing her from under your nose"? We'll see in the next chapter…
